We’ve once again witnessed what can only be described as an incredible International
If OG weren’t already the greatest org in Dota history, they certainly are now. But an unlikely repeat was far from being the only exciting thing to happen at TI9. From the jaw-dropping plays to the hype caster calls and insane 200IQ turnarounds, this year’s International was chock full of memorable moments.
This is the best of TI9.

AshuraGameTime it disrespect the game itself and to dota community, hosting a TI is a great privileged. no wonder the community outraged how silent the crowd is, I mean Chinese got so much privileges already, they got their own category as a sole regional rather than be 1 as Asian regional qualifier (I mean it's an advantage to sea region but the point is every TI 100% there's gonna be Chinese). Then that what we got from them??

OG dominated Game 2, 3 and 4. The execution of their fights was spot on. That was Dota at its best. I wonder if anyone is going to create an analysis video of how they were moving around the map and picking those fights. It's a really good lesson for all the new players, who want to understand this game and how map control is very crucial to victory. Also how the picks matter. Every hero is different and every match of Dota, even with the same heroes, is very different.

'Tis no problem, alot (wish I could say most) of Dota 2 players, myself included, have been playing since Warcraft 3. That game itself introduced you to the concept of heroes, abilities, items, and resource management in an classic rts setting, forcing you to micro manage from the get go. HOWEVER there was a diablo like campaign with up to 3 heroes & very few other units for you to control. At the end of this campaign, was a siege map that was simply a single player Moba, with you on an inferior side, working your way across 3 lanes. By this point your Heroes were lvl 25(ish), with very different from regular Warcraft, lvl 4 ablities and lvl 3 ultimate, and crazy strong items just like Dota. So before even touching Dota 1 in the online custom games, People were given just about as much time as you've known it, to slowly learn the game. Course then there's people like Topson(?) or some other pros and casual players who came into Dota 2 and only Dota 2. So plenty of hope for you or anyone that's just been watching for now.

The end of every TI is supremely emotional. You see some of the best Dota of your life being played on the main stage, and when the Aegis is lifted by the champions every year, you feel immensely happy and uncharacteristically sad at closing off an amazing tournament. OG have now won twice in a row, and both times, you can feel so much of the passion for Dota that it brings tears to your eyes. Their reactions show that the team, however meme-worthy they are and however they play, those boys play their heart out and love this game so much! Dota is a game that can be infuriating, it can make you super-toxic, but when you sit down to play, gather all your friends, queue for a match and have an absolutely perfect time, there's nothing else quite like it. I really hate this game at times, but I love Dota so much more!

LOL it was the exact same for me, since most of the big tournaments start in a few weeks for other games, i wanted to watch something entertaining, even tho i dont understand shit about Dota, i followed TI, checked its history and winners, checked some older important games aswell, and was rooting for my boy notail since the first thing i saw about competitive dota was the beef with fly and ex OG members on EG last year, so it felt satisfying learning their story and following them into back to back championship xD
