How every major building project ordered by the Tories and the last labour governments have been a farce and £BILLIONS over budget? You have to sensibly look at what is in the control of UK government, what is in the control of devolved national government, and what is in the control of local government. You cannot hold a UK government of one party responsible for what is in the direct control of a different government led by a different party, or a local government of a different party. If you have an issue with bin collection under a Green local government, or the NHS under a different party in control of a devolved government, then you have to vote appropriately for change at that level of government, not against those that are not responsible for those devolved decisions at increasing localised levels.

LABOUR The Tory's may not be angels, but they do also get a lot of flak for things that LABOUR initiated on their way out of the door; Or for making necessary, but unpopular decisions that labour had avoided for years while in power. Just look at Starmer's current record. Constantly making loud catchy grand announcements, then quietly walking them back a week later when reality kicks in and he realises that he cannot deliver them. Or grandly announcing that Labour would do something that the Tories already started without fanfare. The Tories may have made mistakes, easy to point out with 20/20 hindsight. But in comparison Labour in government currently looks likely to be an unmitigated disaster, they spend all of their time complaining or smearing dirt, but zero time offering actual solutions. Promising unicorns and rainbows without offering an actual plan of how they intend to deliver.

As a % of GDP the only significant increase coincided with Covid spending. In case you hadn't noticed. There are events going on out there in the world that are out of the control of UK politicians. To believe that Labour would have been able to control these external events and avoided the fallout any better, would require an impressive level of delusion.
