SNP money wasting exposed as Tories blast them for axing free school meals for all

In a debate brought forward by the Scottish Conservatives about an SNP broken promise of free school meals for all, the Scottish Conservatives took aim at the Scottish government.
The Tory speaker, Liam Kerr, went through a very long list of SNP money mismanagement to highlight that the government could find the money to deliver its promise if it wanted to.

scottish government (tax payer funded ) free bus pass for under 22s has cost £220m since its implementation wouldnt that money be better spent feeding children no according to the snp its more important for kids to have the ability to use their free bus pass to go on their wee jollies while being reported as missing or to be able to travel into city centers to engage in antisocial behaviour which the last time i checked is a criminal offense

Sea trials of vessels can take a very long time buddy, they can come off the trials with a snag list a year long on occasions!! In a post to its official Facebook account on 2 September 2023, the SNP promoted a figure of 100,000 in reducing child poverty, whereas the actual figure is closer to 10,000. In a response to a request for evidence, the SNP said the post was an error. The SNP has now *deleted the Facebook post and a similar recent X post but has kept up a post* making that claim.

Goodness she’s just a robot, take the script away and she’d be in space. Why has Angus Robertsons budget not been taken down by the equivalent, thats because Gilruth is a lower level minister who is out of her depth and doesn’t have the standing to demand funding for her brief. The current ministers who represent us are entirely inadequate. She talks about where the cuts need to be made, the reasons cuts need to be made are because of the ridiculous spending choices that this SNP government have made over 17 years. How does this cut policy, address Swinney’s commitment to reducing child poverty. It’s entirely contradictory.

@@kevinkevin-ug9po and when the wind blows too strong, the energy companies get paid millions to switch off the turbines, because the infastructure running down through Scotland cannot handle the extra load. Chicken egg scenario. And as the turbines are mostly owned by foreign investors, the money goes to them. Catch up. England imports electricity from France, they could run without Scotland, check it out.

Sturgeon promised in the SNP’s 2016 Holyrood manifesto to “deliver 100 per cent superfast broadband coverage” to every home and business in Scotland by spring 2021 - Failed. Sturgeon promised in 2017 to set up a state run energy company by 2021 delivering energy at near to cost price with low income households being the first customers - Never happened. The Scottish National Investment Bank devised by Sturgeon and wholly funded by the Scottish tax payers has posted a £14.6 million loss, yet the boss is taking home £8K in bonuses every month. Well Sturgeon sold the leases for the sea beds very cheap by putting a maximum limit on the auction sales. Then for the wind farms the contract states the wind farms will get subsidised with tax payers cash when there is too little wind and given constraint payments when they are generating too much. A win win for these mostly foreign owned private companies. Last year wind farms in Scotland received £275 million of tax payers cash which is passed onto our bills. Thanks Nicola.

Why is Angus Robertson permitted to continue his globe trotting jollies at a huge and unnecessary cost to the tax payer, when what he is allegedly doing is not a devolved matter? He has made no contribution whatsoever for the benefit of Scotland and is unlikely to do so, whilst acting as a pseudo ambassador. This considerable outlay could be put to much better use, but it’s unlikely that weak, past his sell by date Swinney, will take any action, putting party ideologies as usual before the country.

It costs in Falkirk alone 50k per month to house asylum seekers in local hotels, some of who last month were charged with sexual assaults in Falkirk town centre, they were then tagged and released back into the hotel. Over the next week there was a huge police presence outside the cladhan hotel in Falkirk where there being housed to stop the hotel getting smashed up,
