When I hear a good chunk of the problems that are ruining games my answer is all developers have to do is add a toggle to turn off these features in settings.

I disagree with the arrows one. If you are playing a SUPER EXPANSIVE game with WAY TOO MUCH room, having a objective marker is a godsend ESPECIALLY if you take a long break from the game and come back later wondering what you were doing doing before you left

For health recover in games where you need to keep moving and exploring, why not the Xenoblade Chronicles way? You pretty much recover to absolute full health instantly after a battle.
@Loldino897 Жыл бұрын
Well not instantly but you heal so fast unless you are actually trying you will be full hp each fight

In the case of DLC characters in fighting games, I’ll actually have myself fight the character and beat them before I can use them, and if I fail I’ll usually do a punishment like doing the story/classic mode.

I like how wolfquest implemented health in its anniversary edition; you must have food in your belly, and sleep to heal at all, though in mulyiplayer, you can quick heal UP TO 40% by sitting and resting for a minute or two. It makes survival that much harder, and genuinely more accurate to life. It may be a tad annoying, but it makes sense especially for the setting. I'd however love to see the animations and player models pf the wolves one day improve- they're still quite stiff 😂

Fighting game characters being added as DLC is a thing for valid reason Just like MMO, the longer the devs sitting and making a fighting game, the more money they could potentially waste

Yep... That last one hit home. I felt like the only person who said "I am not buying Sword and Shield or any new pokemon game until they put out some level of quality.". And waited until the gen 9 games actually put out a decently received performance patch, on account it received a bunch of love despite its mechanical faults. And most of the complaining was over graphics, I genuinely couldn't care less for graphics, so... If it's better than elder scrolls 4 oblivion, it meets my graphical standards. In fact, I wished on console I could change most my games graphics to be lower so I can cut loading times. I actually even have a hot take, games shouldn't have great graphics if it hits their performance and the option to lower them should always be an inclusion if they want next gen graphics.

Thank GOD RE4 Remake removed the QTEs for the exact reasons you mentioned, that's exactly what happens several times throughout in the original, you watch a cutscene and can lose progress by not hitting the dodge buttons in time, which, by the way, aren't always the same buttons.

GTA does have an option for lighter Aim Assist where you actually need to get the cursor near enough to the enemy to auto aim

For me, a massive deal breaker are boring sidequests that detract from the pace of the game. Many times I find myself asking "but why would I do these?" and in the worst case scenario the answer is "because you literally cannot move on with the game until you do some". The games that immediately come to mind are Labyrinth of Refrain and Labyrinth of Galleria, but Eiyuden's tie-in game had mandatory fetch quests so bad that they made me ragequit halfway through the game and killed my hype for the game it was supposed to be promoting.

Micropayments are no longer the exclusive problem of video games only, it has been such a successful system to make money that many others have started to copy it. For example, I would like to curse the person who came up with copying the idea of micropayments and combining it with health care, which makes public health care hell when one visit to the doctor is enough to empty your wallet, despite the fact that the state collects large amounts of taxes to finance public health care, which means that you have to pay for the service you receive several times over and over again.

For the vision changing modes. The very damn first one- "You can use it whenever as if the developer has no faith in us..." DUDE. *you can use it whenever YOU want.* If you dont need it for a mission. Then dont use it. How is having an easily togglable vision change that makes the game easier for some people BAD?? you're not FORCED to use it!!! Just dont press the damn button!!!! The devs aren't to blame when you start abusing a mechanic they added in to help players who may struggle with certain objectives when you dont need that assistance. Thats on you buddy! Dont press the button! Same with the damn arrows. Don't need it? Dont look at it! Sure it would be nice for games to let you straight turn them off if you REALLY don't want it there. But how often do you even see perma-arrows in games? Not often. From my experience arrows and quest trails *still need to be toggled by the player pressing a button*. Auto/assist aim. "It can be toggled off but its still bad that it exists" When most auto-aim features (that arent cheating) are to. Help controller players. Compete with keyboard and mouse players. Once again mate! If you do not like the feature! Turn👏it👏off!!! bro PLEASE let people have the option to play games on an easier level than what you personally enjoy, none of these things are hurting you, you can turn things off or not use them in the first place if you hate them so much. But the ability to make a game easier (and thus more accessible to players) is not ruining gaming!!!!! This video should have stuck to loot boxes and needless paid dlc, the actual bad stuff in games that most of the later half of the video was, not dip into basic ignorable gameplay features. The guy just sounds like a hardcore gamer who doesnt want people to have ANY fun otherwise. I feel like this guy is two seconds away from telling me beginner/easy/story difficulty modes are a crime against all of gaming.

The assassin's creed example of rinse and repeat games wasn't great. AC Syndicate (the blandest game in the series) going into AC Origins (the best game in the series) was departing from their norm. Should have gone with Unity to Syndicate

There are avid gamers younger than that period now, so... I'd hard disagree. With games, the label "new" really does vanish faster than most other things.
