Good stuff being taught, but what's great is that you're straight to the point, no long talk - makes it infinitely more digestible !!

You break down combinations incredibly well. I love how you keep on reiterating “your feet are in range.” While it is a fundamental of punching, not too many gyms emphasize not leaving your base when you punch.

To the young people: if you enjoy boxing and you have talent for it or work hard, you can 100% become professionals if you believe in it and NEVER stop! I've been training for a year and realize that I have a great talent for it, but unfortunately I'm too old (35) for a professional career. So don't waste your best years chilling or doing unnecessary things that won't get you anywhere!!!

Hey Oilver, how do you get your opponent to do what you want? I know the trick to jab their jab hand so they throw a cross for you to slip and throw a body shot. But any other traps and tactics to control your opponent?

Nice. Simple combos are more than effective. Especially if u feint before and reposition after. U can even throw those combos as sets: combo 1, repositions, combos 2, defense/reposition then combo three. Finally, Jab back to center ring. I hate when coaches watch too many Floyd vids and have their boxers to infinite combos standing straight up and chin out.

On the last combination? After you throw the left, you should drop your height into a crouched position, below your opponent's guard height, as you throw the right to the solar plexus. Otherwise, you're open to a counter when you're punching down to the body. From that crouch, you can then come back upward with a left hook that is now delivered from a more stronger stance, and subsequently more leverage and power from the coming back up movement. This is particularly effective on taller opponents.

Would it make sense to "watch the opponent's eyes at all times" to practice learning how to predict the opponent's moves as the opponent being a normal person offering gestures?

I think due to the step of the cross you needed to shift your weight and this is an exception from the traditional way in which you kept your weight on the rear. Am I right ??

@sindiinbonnienclyde3 ай бұрын
Any premeditated combo is useless tbf. They all require context and are situational based on an incredible number of factors. Additionally, these combos, obviously simple, are delivered in a robotic manner and could actually be much more succesfull with either torso movement or a single foot moving. Learning to throw single punches that link fluidly based on the ever changing opponent, or predicted movement is a much better route to success. This will also creste greater shift and control of ones centre of mass and optimise the base of support. Ps sorry to sound too critical but just giving feedback.
