Ash has been the cutest person ever talking to Santa. The huskies are great. My dog loves to run next to the bicycle and he loves to drag me too. Maybe he thinks he's a husky (he's way smaller). Rovaniemi is great, maybe one day I'll be there too.

There are still lot of people in who treat midsummer as a sacred day (/night); light the bonfires to banish evil, jumping over them to get good luck and wa-wa-woom and doing all those spells related to love, lust, crops and growth. These midsummer customs are from our pagan celebrations of Hela. Finns generally try find their way in to the woods and to the country at midsummer; cities are very empty and lot of places are closed. Midsummer is a big deal, and lot of those ancient, pre-christian habits have survived through the centuries in some form or another. That is cool :) Sounds like you had an awesome time ^^

We're in February 2022 so, my tip is for new viewers landing on this channel. If you go to visit Santa, buy a few postcards and Christmas cards, drop them at Santa's post office and no matter what time of the year it is, they arrange things that your wishes arrive on time at the upcoming Christmas. Vloggers needing to send postcards to your Patreons, it's a nice surprise.

Yes, that was after the reform when the other counties joined, or had to join, Rovaniemi city. My father lives 50 kms away from the city, but it is still considered as Rovaniemi. Those little towns still have their own names etc. They are just part of the Rovaniemi now.

We have very strick animal abuse laws and if those huskies were being abused the business would be shut down and the dogs taken away. Don't act like you know, when you have no idea. Those dogs are bred to run and perform and they enjoy it. Feel free to be offended but there's nothing wrong with husky sledding and they seem to be taking care of their pets well.

These are working dogs, sledge dogs, used in Alaska, Canada, Lapland etc. These dogs are selectively bred for this job, they are not sofa pets. Really hard to believe anyone in tourist business in Lapland would abuse the dogs, their reputation would be gone in a second.

That doesn't happen in Finland. Finnish people in general are very in touch with nature & animals compared to a lot of countries. Working dogs are well respected here and people are appalled when they read about the mistreatment of animals in other countries (like spanish and their calgos, too heavy husky racing, greyhound racing etc).

Please research sled dog abuse on KZbin or PETA . It's an expensive business to care for one Husky , mine about $2000 a year between vets, food and exercise. A husky Tourist farm is not able to select its dogs and effectively place other dogs, Old dogs and puppies not meeting specs. Buy into the lie if you like but the model is horrible and you are promoting animal abuse ,, please provide facts from the owners to prove my challenge wrong and I will apologize !

@@eamo106 Nature and animals are extremely important to Finns. If they would abuse the animals, APS would shut them down very fast. (yes, we have government run animal protective services and they do regular visits) Hetta Safaris have for example won Responsible Travel's Best animal welfare initiative gold award. You like to sling dirt, but obviously haven't done any research yourself. PETA is american organization, doesn't work in Finland.
