As a kid learning to play in the mid-‘90s, all the paper brochures, posters, and one-sheets were always so cool to take home from the local shop (the Gibson ones were always so premium feeling). I kind of wish I kept them, at least to see if people would buy them.

There’s a ton of guitar nerds like myself that would love to frame and hang some stuff like that. I had an Epiphone poster on my wall when I started playing around 2008.

Nice collection! It has to feel good to get back a guitar or amp, etc you sold and immediately regreted. I have a Dean Markley K50 amp I later bought a Tweed Extension cab for. I also ran into David Crosby at that seller's table who was present as well. Buying a bunch of DM amps and cabs like me. He said he loved them when we walked out conversing about them. In that yellow/tan color Dean used. I sold it to my nephews who have a popular local band (PA?). If you ever run across one, I need it. Great sound with the amp speaker. I also have a Gibson Flying V in black I customized. Previously owned by Ron Zelle who had a guitar shop in Amherst, OH. He had two of'em in his trunk to gig with for years. I bought the better of the 2 that happened to have been built on my birthday in 1983! What's the odds of finding one like that? It has abalone fret markers too. Original Gibson V case as well.

Awesome fetch, and the Chainsaw cases almost as good as the axes. Goldburst is special, and the Charcoal looks tough. I hope Mr. Kruger can save the 12 gauge mishap - might have some redemption for original owner. Ü♫

I realize this is more of a collector than a players channel but I'm always curious how the frets are on all these future "museum" pieces that often show up in bunches. I owned several Norlin era Customs back in the day and a lot of them, especially from the 70's were "fretless wonders" with low wide frets to begin with. After 40-45 years of playwear, I'm guessing a lot of the guitars that show up on this channel have worm out frets and probably aren't great players, but the focus always seems to be on cosmetics.

Please replace the GOLD toggle switch in the Charcoal Metallic Custom. (Sorry, just the QC in me coming out. haha) I always loved the Goldbursts. Have you ever seen one with gold in the center and black on the edges? A few were made.

So there you go. For the year end video this year you can just show us your Les Paul's. Or just the Customs if you would rather. I'm all good. I love a Standard just as much as a Custom anyway.

the les Pauls are beautiful everyone of them. i have one Les Paul custom. its a 81 cherry sunburst. i dont like the black plastics on customs so i bought from george gruhn all the cream pieces plus 2 dimarzio pickups, super distortion bridge and Paf for the neck. i love the look. ace frehley style. also bought a 90s brown case from him to replace the chainsaw case. this was in 1990. still have it plays great. it has the winder tuners as well. looks great plays great and thats what i like

4:14 Trogly, that's awesome you got the harvest gold back! I have an '81 that I made a KZbin shorts video of, and posted about it on the mylespaul forum years ago. It looks just like this one except it has the foldout winding arms on the tuning pegs. The Orange peel/textured finish on the back of mine appears to be more prominent as well. I hope you make an updated review of it 🤘

Being a viewer that has been watching since back in the carpet shows? I always thought there were a few guitars that you ultimately sold, that I thought you should kept. like for instance the guitar that was specially built for you. because that guitar will always have a link to you.

Gibson dropped the ball on the Dave Mustaine Rust in Peace 30th Anniversary Signature Flying V EXP in "Alien Tech Green Burst" by promoting them for over a year then not releasing the "Burst" version and also having Quality Control issues with the paint on almost every guitar they released in that run. That is "Why" Gibson has had trouble selling Dave's Signature Series OVERPRICED guitars. Maybe if Gibson did an actual reissue of the 84-87 XPL Flying V (which is what Dave's Vs are modeled after) at an affordable price point they could get buyers interested in Flying Vs again. But then again I'm just a dumb old guitar nerd so what do I know?

Thank you Trogly!!! Finally I solved the mystery of my 82’ SG standard. The bridge pickup is the Bill Lawrence cirkuit board HB-L (~13K) . The neck pickup (7,3 K), has the PAT on the bass plate with nickel screws, so it’s the PU490. Somebody probably swapped the original Tarbacks to late 80’s pickups from another model. Thank you again Trogly!
