@eltoro_ttv suns & clippers yes. They are a mess. They don't have no draft picks or trade assets. At least the Lakers & and Warriors are destinations players wanna come too with championship history. Plus, the Lakers have trade assets in austin reeves, Rui, D-lo, & a couple of picks. Warriors have trade assets in kaminga, wiggins, CP3, & moody, & a couple of picks. Plus, i trust Lebron, AD, & curry to deliver or play > KD, booker, Beal, Kawhi, Harden, & PG at this current stage of their careers.

The pelicans future isn't bad. They could load up on draft picks and more young assets with Zion, mccollum, & ingram trades of that were to ever happen. The kings have 2 all stars in Fox & sabonis jr. A small market like that can't do to much better than that. The kings are a playoff team. They are just a zach lavine trade, or alex caruso & johnathan issac or jerami grant trade away from being a sure playoff team in the west. I can't argue with none of the other teams.

There's some delusional Clippers fans on Twitter who I've gotten into arguments about regarding this and I agree with you completely. I'm not even hating on the Clippers in these discussions, it's just an observation based on their roster and overall situation. All old, past prime, injury prone stars with no young talent or prospects to be excited about, no future assets worth mentioning... they're in the playoff mix at the moment because of their star power, but in a few years, they're going to be back to being the Clippers of old (90s and most of the 2000s) barring any blockbuster trades. I think the best thing they could do at this moment is try to trade Paul George for some younger players with upside and future 1st round picks, but I don't think they're going to do that. And as a result, I think they'll continue to be in the mix for another season or two, but not close to winning a championship, and their future will be ugly.

your take on the Cavs is just classic casual. They have positive assets like Mobley, Allen and Garland, 2 of which were all-stars not long ago and one is a top 5 defensive big still on his rookie deal. They have neutral contracts like Strus, Niang and LeVert. Mitchell is probably re-signing and even if he isn't he'll bring back at least 2 FRP and a young player as an expiring deal. The starters are all below 30 and so are the top 3 bench players. How on earth is that top 5 bleak future? Clippers, Suns, Nets, Hawks, Detroit, Chicago, Raptors, Wizards are far far far worse positioned than the Cavs for immediate and future success as they have limited picks, limited young talent and very few valuable contracts. Just such a shit take I can't even discuss it any longer

To say the cavs have one of the bleakest futures is a really dumb take. There are no creditable signs DM is leaving beyond rumors from rival execs, even if he does then this team can go back to rebuilding focusing on DG and Mobley. The reason why Dg is not doing so hot is he broke his jaw and is playing with Spida. Spida takes development from DG. Mobley can be a top big in the league and just needs a few steps. Not just because of his injury history, moreso because of his constant failing and him not caring at all to get along with teammates or to do anything besides basketball. The only time KD has ever had success was in Golden State, a team that had already won a title without him. Mitchell is a dynamic scorer, not a type A player on a championship squad. The Cavaliers have Mobley, Garland, Allen, and Okaro. If Donovan leaves that opens up the salary and gives Garland the chance to have the ball more. Im a Magic fan, so while I love the hype we are getting. I know how fickle channels like these could turn on that hype. The media is far wirse, except they never talk about us anyhow. Just because the Washington Wizards have good picks doesnt mean they are better. Recently they did draft some players but Johnny davis is the biggest disappointement for the team they passed on Jalen Willams who was 2 spots behind of davis. He would have become a superstar for the team to replace beal. The wizards have the reputation of drafting bust after bust. Jan Veselý, OPJ, Troy Brown jr and they even passed on alperen sengun taking kispert over him. they also missed the opportunity to draft Jalen Brunson over Troy Brown jr.

I don't agree that the Cavs' future is that bleak. They'll have an opportunity to trade Mitchell if he doesn't resign. They also have several other talented players who would have high trade value. If Mitchell left, I think they would simply build around Garland and Mobley. They'd use the picks they get from the Mitchell and Allen trades to augment the team. Garland and Mobley both seem to function better when there's not a player who overlaps with them on the court anyway.

That's the problem with the Cavs, from day 1. Everyone seemed to see it but them. They're too redundant. Garland and Mitchell got the same roles, pretty much. Same with Mobley and Allen being basically the same as well. I thought they'd trade away someone like Mobley to get a true high level SF. But nah, they didn't. Who's starting at their 3? Max Strus? Trading away Mitchell for a high level SF makes them a contender imo.

That's the conundrum with a player like Mitchell who isn't really a traditional PG or a traditional sg he's a sg that utilizes very little off ball movement and likes to have the ball in his hands a lot and likes to score over being a ball mover and facilitator all that isn't necessarily a bad thing especially when you have a player that can score like Mitchell can but it's a play style that can clash with other play styles if his backcourt partner doesn't mesh with him we are seeing a similar dynamic in Atlanta generally having to ball dominant and/or shoot first guards in the back court is not a recipe for success

Suns, Clippers, and Nets are easily the most bleak, WAY more than the Cavs. None of those teams are good enough to have any success, nor do they have any draft capital to build from. At least the Nets have more youth to work with.

its not that the hawks don’t have a supporting cast. clint capela, jalen johnson, saddiq bey are more than capable of being impactful players on a contending team. i think theres just no fluidity amongst who is our leader, who is THE guy bc sometimes its murray sometimes its trae. the communication is awful in that department

The Cavs are one of the most impatient teams ever. They fire coaches like crazy, it didn't start with JB and it won't end with him. Mike Brown and Tyron Lue got unfairly fired. And by far the craziest one, David Blatt got fired after just one season where the Cavs made the finals. Like yeah they had LeBron, Kyrie and Kevin Love, but it's still impressive the team went from worst in the NBA to nba finals in one season.

"my abusive husband didn't slap me in the face, but kick me in the rear instead today, that's a good sign, that means he wants to change" That's how the wizard segment went. It's one thing to tank completely, it's another making the team terrible and no talents could grow, a good tank job is OKC, they lost a ton but all the players got good development, the worst type of tanking is what wizards are doing right now, losing games, but have no trade chip worthy players, Gafford isn't considered good with them and now it's a championship puzzle filler in Dallas.

You neglected to mention that the Hawks have the #1 pick in the draft. That might make Trae Young expendable in the front office's eyes. Personally, I would keep him and make it work with whoever they pick first and get rid of Murray. I think the Hawks have a good enough future just for that #1 pick if it works out and honestly they peaked in 2021, anyway. Also, I don't think Mitchell will leave Cleveland. He hasn't shown actual desire to leave and everything floating around him are just rumors. He might still leave, but I think he wants to make it work in Cleveland for at least one more year. Honestly, the Suns should have been on this list.

As a Bucks fan, I partially agree. I don't think they'll be screwed any time soon, as long as they have Giannis, they'll be okay, but I do agree that they have a 1-2 season window with Giannis/Dame to bring in a championship, otherwise, it's not happening and I don't think Giannis will win again on the Bucks, he'd have to go somewhere else. Not sure if Giannis will stay or leave but I don't think they have enough of a bench presence. No future assets really. No coveted trade pieces. We're just not deep enough of a roster. Hoping Giannis/Dame chemistry on the court next season is much improved from this season. If they could find a way to make that work, they could genuinely be the best duo in the NBA. Pretty much any team that's older doesn't have the brightest future. Their core is old and they don't have any super exciting young prospects.

The suns have the worst future I've ever seen lol. They can't lose games internally cuz none of their picks are theirs for years, they aren't good enough to win a chip since they lack depth and defense and they can't blow it up due to Bradley having a no trade clause and no one wanting him for his shitty contract, kd is 35+ and slowing down and booker is still booker but probably not gonna stick around due to the issues I just stated.

If you think the Suns have the worst future, think about the Nets. They are in basketball purgatory, cannot compete for a playoff spot/championship due to the lack of talent/stars; and they cannot tank because their picks from 2024-2027 are in the control of the Houston Rockets. The 3rd pick by Houston in this years draft is from Brooklyn lol, that Harden trade killed them
