When I was a smaller kid and younger teenager I would always have really weird skin reactions such as hives, skin rashes and my skin turning blood red. Turns out I’m allergic to grass, pineapple, plum, buck wheat, long needle pine pollen, white oak pollen, pindo fruit, and the dust on dried grain ( like corn and hay given to farm animals ).

I am a baking student and I normally don't eat coconut because I don't like the taste or smell, but I at something I made with coconut in the crust and something that came in contact with toasted coconut, a few minutes later I got itchy all over, my head, my arm's, my legs, my back and my eyes, my nose started running and I was coughing up a storm like my asthma was acting up. I saw my doctor yesterday and I told him he asked what symptoms I had afterwards I told him about the itchiness, the coughing and the nausea and he told me the lung doctor he was referring me too after a CAT scan reveal I have a type of benign tumor from a genetic condition I have that causes them to grow in the body mostly on nerves where found in my lungs so he could get more info. He said this lung doctor is also an allergist so he should be able to help me find out if I have this allergy.

Wow! I also developed a treenut allergy a few yrs ago similar to his case. I had difficulty breathing & severe, itchy throat. I could eat peanuts, but not treenuts. I developed more skin allergies during the pandemic. I think it's also because of not having enough vitamin D & other essential nutrients in my system. Get blood work done to see what you're deficient in and check for autoimmune diseases or diabetes. See a dermatologist or allergist, a registered dietitian, and a gastroenterologist. I am on mostly a semi-keto or LOW FODMAP diet because it worked for me. I don't follow as strict as I used to, but once I get an allergy issue again. I have to follow with a LOW FODMAP diet.

I think many times what we call an allergie is actually a buildup of things that on a micro scale is needed or at least tolerated in the body but in larger amounts are toxic or deadly . I started having a reaction to eggs and onions after eating egg sandwiches every single day for years , and I became so sensitive that I almost died from not being able to breathe from a very small amount . But I did an elimination diet to figure it out and by not eating that for several years have become much less sensitive ! I think the culprit was a buildup of sulfur . I just wanted to let people know that there sensitivity , maybe reversable , by eliminating the rite foods !

Genetics not entirely true. You can get it from chemicals. I have no allergies as a kid. When i reach 37 that's when i got allergies due to chemicals i took. Not accurate to blame always on Genetics. Most children can outgrow their allergies and live allergy free in their adult life. Doctors saying it's Genetics because they are lazy to treat their patients. That's what my allergy doctor told me. "It's your mother, no cure. Take antihistamines everyday". The result my allergy got WORSE than ever. What i did? I STOP all medications and ate healthy foods and exercise. My allergy reduced to 80 percent without medications, zero even supplements. If a doctor tells you it's Genetics, he is a lazy doctor that only cares for your money.

I am allergic to all high fodmap and high histamine foods. Also can’t tolerate citrus fruits and high glycemic index foods except potatoes. These all include dairy, wheat, rice, legumes, avocados, all nuts except brazil nuts, soy products, spicy foods(especially red chillies and chilli flakes), cruciferous vegetables, bananas, apples, pineapples, peaches, watermelon, other types of melons, grapes, raisins, dates, fruit juices, oats, honey, flax seeds, all oils except olive oil, and meats. I am sticking to low fodmap low gi and low histamine diet and have started taking zinc supplement to build up my immunity against these allergies. Food allergies can really complicate your life. My symptoms are very unsual as opposed to commonly mentioned symptoms. I get slight pain and numbness around my mouth and near the cheek-nose area on one side (sometimes left and sometimes right) whenever i eat any of the culprit foods! Also get dizziness and confused thinking.

lots of people have corn allergies but it isn't recognized. I'm one of 'em. Anaphylactoid responses stole 2/7th of my days until I realized... this year... I'm 47. When I get sick from corn, I wish I would die, literally. I worked in food service making pizza with corn meal for fifteen years. I wound up suicidal. Finally, I quit, because I couldn't work anymore I was too ill. But I was given fifteen different medications for 'autoimmune disease' that had guess what in it? CORN STARCH. I wondered why after taking my meds, I fell unconscious and got a horrible headache. Take more, said the doctors. So I did. Life has been HELL. At least now I know, I'm nearly fifty, and my life is practically over anyway. Not much time to re-career. I'm in college but ? I'll graduate when I am 53. Almost every food i try are allergic to me but still ate them and drink Meds after Because I don't have any choice btw I have a chronic urticaria in food also in heat and a psoriasis and alot more life sucks 😑

Peanuts are legumes. Cashews are not legumes, but they are in a different botanical classification than most other nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, pecans, brazil nuts, etc.

Sadly...I have a soy allergy and as we Americans know. Soy is in literally everything. I cant eat that much of stuff without having my mouth breakout and make me look like somebody with a red mustache :T

Amazing how they don't know what causes allergies but they sure know how to medicate you and often times you feel better, which means they do know but they opt to keep people ignorant on the matter.

Nobel Laureate Charles Richet demonstrated over a hundred years ago that injecting a protein into animals or humans causes immune system sensitization to that protein. Subsequent exposure to the protein can result in allergic reactions or anaphylaxis. This fact has since been demonstrated over and over again in humans and animal models. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) confirmed that food proteins in vaccines cause food allergy, in its 2011 report on vaccine adverse events. The IOM’s confirmation is the latest and most authoritative since Dr. Richet’s discovery. Many vaccines and injections contain food proteins.

I love cats but I have allergic rhinitis, I want to wear revealing clothes but my skin doesn't look good coz I have skin asthma, I'm a chocolate lover but I can't enjoy all kinds of chocolates coz I'm allergic to any kinds of nuts (except for hazelnuts). Yeah, that's how unlucky I am 😭
