Great point on Savor One vs. Gold. I have both and love them both for different reasons. I break even on Savor AF with annual passes in theme parks for my family. I don't mind the Gold coupons, and they fluctuate in and out of usage favor as I shift between point needs. But as long as I can break even on AF from coupons alone, it's a keeper for when I need to rack up MR points. I'd go with the Chase Freedom series for starters - when I was starting, I didn't have the cash to max out the quarters. Discover still everywhere you want to be.

Thanks for watching! The difference between these two cards has never been more clear to me after the Gold update!

With the Brilliant giving PP a mid tier general card would be fine.

Yep! You don’t have to add too too much around it if you want to keep the setup simple

Why do you say the Amex Gold's 4x benefits will never return the $325 value? If I spend only $4063 per year on groceries and restaurants (everybody spends way more than that), then the card pays for itself on that alone (assuming points are worth $0.02 each). $4063 x 4 = 16250 x $0.02 = $325.

Appreciate the video. With the Savor One, are you able to redeem the "miles" or "points" or whatever they are called, for cash back also? So if you have the VX and the Savor One it is both a team travel and a team cashback setup?

Interesting video, but it kind of stands to make sense that the most expensive premium cards are the best in most of your categories. Would be nice to know a best-bang-for-your-buck credit card instead of recommending a $650 airline credit card or something similar.

Did you watch the video? He suggested Delta Plat at $350 (not the $650 reserve), where the BOGO was a $360ish ticket he got on the BOGO alone. Add $120 rideshare credit, $120 rest credit, and $150 delta stays credit. He suggested the C1VX, which is extremely easy to get the $395 AF back and is the lowest AF of any premium travel card with lounge access.

@@chadpennycuff Sorry, my mistake. I just assumed Platinum meant the most premium card (like Amex Platinum). I don't fly Delta.

It is true (and it does make sense) that some of the best cards in the credit card game are ones that you have to pay for. However the $0 Discover It and $0 Savor One both made this list, so there are a few options for everybody in here. I agree a bang-for-your-buck or a value rankings would be an interesting video to make... 🤔

Do you have all these cards? Would like to hear about your redemption using the Marriott 85k free night.

Between me and my editor, we have 4 out of the 6 cards talked about in the video. I don't have the Brilliant card at this time, but I've been really considering adding it to my wallet. Seems like it carries a lot of value. Other redemption videos coming soon though!

Good suggestions. I started my credit rebuild phase with the discover it. solid card for newbies. Now, that ima bit more seasoned, I think this will be my long term setup: AmEx Gold - 4x Groceries & Dining AmEx Business Marriott - 4x Gas + 35k FNC & Gold status AmEX Delta Gold - check bags + 15% disc. AmEx Green - 3x all other domestic travel CSP - 2x all international travel + Ins & TPs CIU - 1.5x or AmEx BBP - 2x catch all All i really need is a 2x or 1.5x catch all card with NO FTFs. Any suggestions? i had the cap1 V1, but only had 1.25x, so i product changed it to a Cap1 S1. honestly i dont think cap1 would approve me for a VX since i have 20+ personal credit cards. i considered the sofi 2% card, but its only cashback. i would prefer travel pts.
