it's kinda interesting that in the 8 characters on the final spread, both royalty members are on the left, ex marines are on the top, current marines on the right and then celestial dragons/holy knights on the bottom. going with that theme and the sword, it's a good chance that it's a relative of shanks or the evil twin theory. the "shanks" that had a meeting with the gorosei didn't have the scar, which could've been a mistake or just the angle, but shanks has been drawn at that angle before with the scar there.

God this was such a fantastic chapter! I did not think we would see Skypiea but of course, we did anyway. I figured Oda would wait to show The Red-Haired Pirates, Cross Guild, and the Blackbeard Pirates until the very end of Vegapunk’s message so I think it’s over. That final spread may be the best in the entire series. I think the silhouetted figure is likely the strongest God's Knight. Given his age, Garling may be the leader but I don't think he's the strongest anymore. Or The Man Marked By Flames. I hope VIZ goes with the title “The Ebb and Flow of the Ages”. In Japanese, it’s the identical phrase as in Chapter 100; if not, it seriously loses its impact.

I feel like Koby was a given he has great ambition, he truly want to change the foundation of the Navy. Truly pure hearted in his intent. It shows through the power of his honesty(will to do the correct thing and protect people) basically the opposite of the current Navy/world government. Plus his growth might be the fastest in the series.

@@kingg6681 I dunno. I feel like that's exactly what that means. For Law and Kid in particular, their thematic relevance had to do with being rivals for the One Piece. Luffy even shared his rubbings with them to make sure they all started out evenly. Do I think Law and Kid will come back into the story? Law, most definitely. Kid, I'm iffy but more than likely. But in terms of what they represented in the story, they're no longer rivals for the One Piece. Even if they weren't physically killed, they were taken off the board in that sense. To me, that final page screamed "if you're not one of these 12, you're not changing the world." These ARE the most important characters in One Piece at the moment, even if other people still have roles to play
