Titleist upcharges for almost everything. Mizuno has a wide range of shaft and grip option no upcharge.

My 15 year old daughter hc 2 was fitted for MB’s 5-pw at Bearwood Lakes yesterday at one of their Mizuno tour truck events. We had no intentions of auditioning a set of blades but they’re surprisingly forgiving and deserve the ‘nothing feels quite like a...’ tag. Couldn’t bring ourselves to blend the set either, once you’ve dialled up the correct shaft using their 3D shaft optimiser it was difficult to consider either MMC or HMB as long Irons - for reference we currently use a 3 year old set of Nike Vapor Fly irons paired with vokey wedges, which will also be replaced with their T20 range
@thomasross12855 жыл бұрын
With all the talk about blending, I found out that the HMB can be adjusted +/- 2 degrees loft & lie angle. Main thing is your viewers should know that it is better to weaken the lofts, the face progression will move forward & add a little more bounce, reduce the offset to blend with MP-20 MB better. Mizuno took this into the design of the HMB to reduce offset. The consumer needs to better educated on iron clubhead design & the result of bending the iron lofts.

Can’t go wrong with either... it’s good to see that with everything modern technology has to offer, you can’t beat this pure and simple design...

Tested both of them out and both are amazing, I had a Mizuno (MP25) + Titleist (690MB) combo set previously and the only reason I went all in on the mizuno mp20 range this year is because they made it to blend with the HMB (of which I need the extra help on the long irons); I'd take the HMBs over the Titleist T100/200 series any day of the week.

I just got fit into the 620 mb and not only do they look amazing, but the feel off the face...I can’t explain how amazing it is. Mp20 felt exactly the same to me and I got the same numbers just like Michael said. It really came down to looks at address (and in the bag) and Titleist won that for me.

I like the fact that the MP-20's have a stock DGS300 shaft and Golf Pride Z-grip, which I use. The MP-20 has a layer of copper and nickel which is supposed to soften the feel. Both look great. I think Mizuno Brand is more renown in the UK. I don't see that many players in the USA playing Mizuno.
@mikeabel7577 Жыл бұрын
I played U.S. junior golf in the 1990's and college golf in the early 2000's. Almost every good junior player I played against played Mizuno MP14's and a majority of the college players I played against played Mizuno MP 33's. With all the options these days I don't see as many younger guys playing blades so Mizuno might not be as popular as they used to be but plenty of good American golfers know who makes the best blades.

Those two blades are within my 4 favorite brands for a blade. My favorite blades are the Titleist, Mizuno, TaylorMade (either P7 model) and the Callaway.

Michael, I hear a lot of highly skilled golfers say that they aren't confident hitting a blade in the long irons (3,4,5). I was wondering if you can compare a pure blade to a players cavity in the long irons so we can see the differences. Make sure they are the same loft.
@e997835 жыл бұрын
Triangular Planet it’s completely psychological. I play the p730s down to the four and the four is no harder to hit than the six. The only reason I don’t carry a three in the p730 is the 14 club limit and I want both a 3 and 5 wood
@jonathanh95925 жыл бұрын
e99783 I would challenge that statement somewhat. I’ve played chunkier clubs for the last few years and it’s only since I’ve got down to 1 that I’ve gone and got fit by experts and have come out with blades. Numbers don’t lie and I can guarantee, before my swing changes I would not have had a hope in hell hitting a 3 iron blade. Every time I tried a blade the numbers were absolutely awful. I’d never recommend anyone go out and get blades without consulting a proper fitter (not American golf).
@georgekyriazi4 жыл бұрын
I don’t really agree with this. It’s all psychological. I play 3-PW with the 620 MB and while I’m an 11 handicap, I’m a great ball striker. I practice with my 4 and 3 irons a lot and I get excited when my yardages come up to hit them because there’s nothing like hitting em well, which I do just as often as I do any other club. Another thing for me, I don’t play golf for money. If I were a pro playing with that much money on the line, I’d probably play something with a little more forgiveness. But since I play for the love of the game and am bound to have a few misses regardless, I’d rather post an awesome score with blades. They’ve made me better tbh, and ultimately made me love and appreciate golf more 😊
@markanderson80063 жыл бұрын
I’m off 2 have been as low as +1 so not a complete hacker. I am undecided on both of these. Last time I had blades TP11’s last century feel is unbelievable. But I was not hitting them very far. I hear mp20 have slightly less loft than 620mb
@shawnd44152 жыл бұрын
Finished my first season with the Titleist MB620 5i-PW. Got the 4i CB just to have a bit more forgiveness when I need to really go after it from 230y out or so. While my scores haven’t really improved or game hasn’t really drastically changed using blades for the first time, my swing speeds and consistent yardages have all been dialed in. I’m learning more about attack angles, finding ways to get more spin on tight lies, and generally having more fun trying to become a better ball striker. I love the challenge, and feel instant feedback on great or mishit strikes. Looking forward to another year with my blades and ultimately seeing all the practice at the range and on the course finally paying off. Great video review!

@nicholashatcher28443 жыл бұрын
Love Titleist...always have. However, considering the price per club difference (Mizuno $162.50 vs Titleist $175) for stock. Consider the up charge from titleist for say a Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105. ( Mizuno $162.50 vs Titleist $191). As a life long, huge Titleist fan...Titleist are pricing themselves out of the market. Becoming really hard to justify almost $30 per club. Hope your options are stock!

If you're in to the history of golf, pure blades are the only way to go. Jack, Bobby, Seve, Tom, Arnold, Gary...so many other greats.......It's just you and the club, no gimmicks....if you're just in to shooting the lowest score and beating your friends, you'll want technology. But it won't be the same.
@JDSFLA5 жыл бұрын
Only things that standout somewhat for me is the decent angle and peak height - both of which would deliver better stopping power for the Titleist.

Thanks Mike, I was looking forward to this review. So these two are a dead heat. Alright, maybe still compare the Mizuno against your Wilson Staff's. Maybe there is a difference there? Not sure if you did a head-to-head of the MB 620's vs. your Wilson's already.
@TrojanMars15 жыл бұрын
What?! At 0:18 “not a lot of technology happening with these “...are you kidding me?! MP20 are packed with technology. Sure, they’re weaker lofted then most options out there these days that merely focus on distance, but have you even done your research on the amount and quality of Mizuno technology?! Just the amount of detail they put into the sound alone is amazing, and don’t get me started on their feel...unlike any iron out there! Yes, they’re BLADES. Yes, they offer slight forgiveness. But “no technology”...dead wrong and didn’t appreciate such a misleading description. Good thing they offer cavity backs and game improvement irons for players too.
