Had to pause the video to post this comment, this auto show is amazing. It has really showed the shear number of amazing cars and trucks have come out over the years, as well as where the electric future is taking us. In terms of design, so many great designs have come out interior and exterior and the designs coming out now-a-days are becoming increasingly insane and simply incredible. I'm so happy to have come out in the 90's.

I think NIssan is seeing the results (low sales) of their use of unreliable CVT transmissions and general de-contenting of their product. Even though they don’t use CVT transmissions in all their vehicles, the negative issues regarding their use has tainted the reputation for their brand. And I like CVT’s, but they have to be reliable.

That’s part of it, but it’s also their huge sales to fleet cars and lack of quality. Yes, the CVT reliability was crappy but they focused on the low end of the market and cut costs in a lot of areas which over years people have moved to better brands.

The lower, concave headlights proved to be a significant inconvenience and safety hazard when I owned a '22 Hyundai Tuscon hybrid. While driving in a winter storm, those lights worked like a feed scoop and collected slush, snow, and ice. As I drove down the highway through the storm the accumulation froze over and eventually blocked my headlights. I had to stop 3 times to clear them on one work trip across Michigan. The lights might be trendy, but they proved unsafe for me in a cold weather state.

One potential benefit of having the headlights lower in the front is that the plastic might be less prone to yellowing or uv degradation since they are not fully exposed to sunlight.

I was wondering because of all the glare we are seeing today on the roads from headlights. Yes the driver can see better, but oncoming traffic is blinded these days. Lowering the headlights may help with that and also what you typed.

@6:37 look at all the cars following that useless trend of the raised belt line at the quarter glass next to the C-pillar. I hate trends. Especially when the have no value and serve no useful purpose. It just cut down on visibility and doesn't even look good. The Kicks floating roof is just goofy. The Macan is the only EV that I know that still produces a sunroof that actually opens. I'm still not sure why the rest of the industry abandoned opening sun roof to go the way of Tesla sealed glass panel. I actually use my sunroof almost every day, especially during the Spring and Fall.

The new 2025 Nissan Kicks looks kinda nice, especially the SR model. Much better than the old Kicks, I feel the same way about the Chevrolet Trax, the new 2024 Trax, especially the Trax 2RS, looks a lot better and seems nicer than the previous generation Trax.

A few things… 1- crazy to see how many people at Infiniti. Glad to see there’s some excitement for the brand. 2- Honda really needs a new Passport. The current generation is really behind now.. 3- Polestar in general doesn’t make any sense. Polestar should’ve just been Volvo’s performance line - like BMW M or Mercedes AMG. Especially considering Volvo has its own electric models. Agreed though it should have glass. 4- Hyundai Santa Fe interior looks so cheap. The gear shifter being on the steering wheel is not very intuitive. I also can’t stand that they constantly put a rectangle screen behind a round steering wheel. I know they’re not alone but it really bugs me. That orange-ish color does look cool though. Genesis- they all look pretty cool. Since the orange SUV is the only one we’ll get for now, it’s pretty cool looking.

Anyone who does not believe in the movement of electric cars needs to take a trip to Amsterdam and as soon as you leave Schipol airport you will be faced with all the electric vehicles, imaginary from all makes. It is so clean and quiet despite so many taxis circling the vicinity. Teslas, Kias, Porsches, Mach-Es every single electric car operates there.

The issue with EVs is lack of charging infrastructure. We can solve that. When the model T came out, there were no gas stations. You had to buy cans & bottles of fuel at general stores & blacksmith shops.
