Hi there! I'm the autor of that "little project" that became the Yamato 👋😃 It didn't take too much.... only... uhm... probably 9-10 hours (glad to the mod "Save Unfinished Ship" I could take some breaks in between), plus test runs and ulterior refinements undefined in time... COFF COFF 😵‍💫 ... I'm pretty happy of the design, but actually flying her around I have, probably, some ideas of improvements and refinements (... possibly to lead to a tutorial about how to build her...) In meantime, inmy channel there are a couple of videos I made as presentation of the actual one. (pending the future adjustment... mostly to reorganize the internal layout)

With massive ships, I do hope they make it so you can build larger ships with a shuttle to use to land instead of flat out limiting the size of your ship.

Original creator here: as much as I'm pretty happy for the result, using the Yamato in game made me think that it could be improved a lot. After I played her a bit, I reduced a bit her shields (with shields skill at max, I was past 15k), and that helped to reduce weight (both in number of engines, that are clipped one into eachother, and generators, freeing space inside for more-better hab layout) Also, a little aspect that bothers me is the lack of the "third bridge" (the one that, in the original Spaceship Yamato, dang from the bottom of the keel) I'm pretty sure you will receive updates on the final form of the Yammy...

Grimm here. Awesome to see you liked the ship. I tried the other cockpits but they came out making it look weird with the four guns on the front. I am only level 46 at the time I built this so I don't have access to some of the better stuff and skills yet so the stats are up in the air.

Given the popularity of the ship building of Starfield, I think it’s safe to assume it’s something Bathesda is going to add on too with “Shattered Space”. If I had to guess, I think it will be focused around a UC, Free Star collective war and the players will have to pick sides.

IF it is the same person, there is a "mod" on Nexus for the Yamato. I think it's a save game file but I can't remember.

I love the lines of the fighter from Orbit2023. I really need to tinker with that drop down glitch, the only glitch I've really used is just the dropping structural over things like shields and fuel tanks.

Starfield needs to have a manual control for passages and the ability to preview and modify the inside of the ship in the builder. I wish that it was more like the Vualt-Tec workshop. I used the Vault tool-kit in Fallout 4 to build a ship layout for a story.

Do you need the SFSE for the console commands for the ship commands or will they work without the SFSE?

maybe they'll add a perk to increase the ship size limit, possibly by ten meters per rank. Still wouldn't be as big as the Yamato but better than the measly 40 we got

they should increase the build size and force you to buy a "shuttle" which is used for landing if you go over a certain size. you'd lose access to cargo/ storage to make it more immersive.

Space battleship Yamato could take it and dish out the fire power including the wave motion gun. Extremely well built engine could be one peace circle and two lower little circle engines but great work.

Space Battleship Yamato is the only reason why I thought "may as well" go see 'Star Wars' when mum suggested it; when it debuted.

Couple things, drop down glitch does not work for every part a I have fun he several that will not work at all and using a mouse and keyboard on pc it's a royal pita to get to work at all. On the second ship you guessed the creator was over the size limit by commenting it was 42m, this is only half accurate. The length limit is 80m, which is 40m fore and aft, so you were half right. Nice ships and of course the Yamato is the absolute best one of the entire video.

As a Yamato enjoyer, I have got to say Bethesda did ship builders dirty by not including "Main Cannon" weapon modules in the game. You know? Those HUGE *SS cannons that you see battleships use to obliterate targets when the need for a climactic finish arrives?

You need 3 categorys: Standard. Glitch. No limits. - Definy Yamato win this. Also I try to make 3 classic Airplane. 14 BIS who I turn to SIB 41. Demosiele, both are Santos Dummont, father of aviation. And the third one its about a Brasilia Amarela, Yellow Brasília, a olddes car who won a Music with is very popular since 90's. And I made a Starcraft Battlecruiser, becouse that hammer its to nice, and have a Yamato Cannon.

Tbh cargo doesn't matter at all in endgame, I just use 1 ship with insane cargo (15k-20k) and dont care about cargo on other ships

Yamato autor here: ... working on it... Coming from 10+ years of "Kerbal Space Program", I found myself in a very similar enviroment, in Starfield shipbuilder. Mods (not a lot... just an accurate selection of them) gave me a TON of similar freedom, to build something alike the Yamato. But as much it could be a good design, since the release of Curtis' video, I already "improved" her quite a lot, and I'm finalising the "design" just to rlease, then (... alone or thru Curtis himself...), a build guide. Be patient... she is coming... I have just to figure out then also a proper list of mods needed, at minimum...

So i like to make these ships without using console commands. They don't come out looking exactly like them.. instead they come out with more personality for lack of a better term. It's like how can I use what I know and what I actually have to make a ship without forcing the Matrix to break it's rules. The ships here are great.. but drop down glitching and removing limiters to ME and this is just my simple opinion... it harms your creativity more than help. I was able to build 3 different styles of Batwings before I settled on my favorite. All done without glitching or console commands. I am not faulting anyone for doing it.. I personally love in game exploits or cheats on single player games... I was raised in the era of the game genie. Which is why this is just my opinion.

3 weapons aren't needed at all. PB weapons do equal damage to hull & shields (saving you energy), also, the highest DPS weapons in the game are PB weapons. Doesn't matter if you want auto turrets &/or manual firing weapons, both categories top DPS go to PB weapons. Only reason you'd use anything else would be for flair/preference & or an EM if you want to board/steal ships. Contrary to popular belief missiles are garbage bc even at max power, they reload too slow & will get out DPS's by PB weapons or even by a laser/ballistic combo.

Lovely stuff. Two weapon ships are used as boarding ships Generally lasers or PAR, then EM as secondary. Please dont knock a two weapon ship, its purpose built . 1 v 1 mostly against Galbank ships or expensive top tier III ships like Autobahn III etc etc. My question to you is, how are guys getting 2400 shields withput mods, is it a glitch? I captured a Renegade and it has 2400 shields , yet its fitted with only a 1300 shield?

Meh. 3rd one is ok, although stats could be better. 1, 2 and 4 are underperforming, and I don't really like them but beauty is subjective, so well done for the authors. The last one seriuosly shouldn't even be there. You can build literally whatever you want with mods, and stats aren't even a thing, so zero merit for that
