Elvis Presley did this before in 1972, he was being asked about Vietnam war protesters and if he would’ve refused now to be drafted in the army, as he served 2 years from 1958-1960. He said that he would rather keep his views to himself cause he’s just an entertainer and he’d rather not say. Which is a great answer and should be used as an example.
@CheerfullyCynical829Ай бұрын
I would never have held it against him if he refused to be drafted. He was a musical genius, he didn't belong in field full of gunfire and explosions. And him going to war would not have changed the outcome in ANY way. Muhammad Ali was right too.

Mahomes is teammates and friends with both Harrison Butker AND Taylor Swift's boyfriend, and Butker and Kelce also get along well with each other despite having radically different views. They're only there to focus on winning football games and enjoy playing the game they love for as long as they can. Their political beliefs don't matter to their performance or their friendships with each other.
@jared1750Ай бұрын
This trickles down all the way from Andy Reid (coach of KC, for those who don't know). He keeps the focus on family, friends and football. They don't let politics get in the way of the team focusing on the goal of winning football games. He's rarely spoken on it because of this policy and always reiterates the point, just as Mahomes does, as Kelce does, etc.

@isaiahnolan1565Ай бұрын
I've never understood "endorsing a candidate" as a celebrity. Doesn't matter who you are or who you vote for, if you are a celebrity making the top 1% and publicly endorse someone, all you do is out yourself as a narcissist. You don't live the life of 99% of Americans, so explaining your political choices is just making it about yourself. These celebrities, even the country singers who own farms, don't worry about the same things normal people worry about. I think they can talk about politics and show support for politicians, but endorsing them is narcissistic. Like Steph Curry who endorsed Harris because he wants the last 3.5 years to continue. Curry, you make $50 million a season, no one carries what you want to continue politically, regardless of who is President, you won't need to worry about anything for the rest of your life.

Jordan's apolitical stance is one of the many characteristics that elevate him beyond that loser LeBron
@assass7012Ай бұрын
LeBum has the cabal on his side. Jordan just had skill. LeBum couldn't play through a Charlie horse. Jordan scored 47 points while sporting a 102 degree fever. Jordan revolutionized basketball and entertainment, made the number 23 famous, and *made* Space Jam. LeBum rode his coattails by wearing 23 and trying to claim it for himself, and then making a soulless mess of a space jam "sequel". Jordan stays out of overtly political discussions because he recognizes that his influence holds too much weight to convince others to vote for 1 guy when you yourself aren't informed enough and/or don't want to accept money for that. LeBum takes money from China, Biden, Obama, and Cumala. Jordan can actually read, LeBum pretends to read by opening the second page of a book about Malcolm X, berates people for "racism", and then can't say a single thing about the life of Malcolm X. Jordan stayed out of the race riots of 2020, LeBron encouraged his followers to burn cities down.

Don't just let yourself be guilted into voting for a person whos policy / goals you know nothing about. And if someone has a different opinion than you, THAT IS FINE. You do not need to disown them, or fight them, or try to cancel them, or divorce them just based off of a difference in opinion. Their vote should not ever be considered a personal affront to you, and if you do think of things that way then you need to take a step back and reevaluate your life.
