If this is like OG X8 you can fire regular Buster shots whilst having another weapon equipped. This is why there are two buttons that attack; one attacks with whatever weapon you have equipped and the other always fires the X-Buster. (Like or something to make sure Jared sees this, so he won't feel the need to switch between weapons just to fire the X-Buster.)
@RetroFanatic-Trapster2Ай бұрын
I didn't know this. Could still be tricky depending on the button layout. Especially if you need to jump at the same time.

Regarding the comment about Dr Light leaving so many armor capsules before death, its never truly been stated, but many believe that Dr Light left an AI behind to do R&D to produce new armor and manage all the capsules. In some games, the capsule seems to play a recorded message, while in others, the hologram seems sentient (hence the AI idea). But since Capcom hasn't made an X game in forever or released any updated lore, it's up in the air.
@KaedeLanyoАй бұрын
It's been pretty explicit that he digitized his mind, given a few particular moments. Certainly explains why the capsules seem to keep showing up, even in really improbable places. Part of the confusion _may_ stem from the very inconsistent localization. Wily seems to also he a digital life form, though having mainly shown up in robot bodies. Namely Serges and Isoc. The former, bafflingly, having had the reference to his identity _entirely removed in localization._

And he was making body upgrades for sigma@@KaedeLanyo
@savagemaelstrom9645Ай бұрын
Based on the lore we do have, pretty safe to assume there is some level of sentience. We do know Zero was a Wily creation (seen in one of the power fghters/power battles endings for Bass) and its loosely implied that virus infected zero had some hand in the cataclysm that lead to the world being destroyed then rebuilt by the time of the X games, yet the capsules are aware enough of Zero to have Light comment that an upgrade is 'For X' and mention Zero by name, or as seen in X5, the upgrade for Black Zero in the endgame. That would be too coincidental for Light to predict Zero to turn sides and then deploy zero-aware capsules at specific locations, one of which having the upgrade FOR Zero, who would have at least at some point (shown in X4 flashbacks) been a rogue machine haphazardly attacking other machines (and likely humans.) so I think its likely the capsules were dispersed widely, have a sentient network, and keep pulling old files, and refining/adjusting to meet the needs as they arise. Its also not confirmed, but I imagine when the capsule scans X/Zero/Axl, its able to possibly download memories, seeing as they're machines, so that it can update itself on the current situation and react accordingly. After all the times being scanned in X, X2, and X3, it makes sense for later games for it to be aware of Zero being on X's side.

Dark Mantis in X8 would only do his overdrive 2 times as opposed to the 5 here. Also, I think dashing at his normal charge kinda counters him as he’ll jump before he reaches you and his blade goes over your head.
@GutiSerenadeАй бұрын
Yeah the bosses are BRUTAL. The creator indicated that they made this demake geared a bit more towards Megaman veterans, but that's the beauty of a Megaman game - trial and error. :D That said, Mantis and Rooster (and in some cases Gigavolt) are probably some of the hardest of the main 8. Great work so far, looking forward to more!
@gurvmlk29 күн бұрын
Whether for veterans or not, it wouldn't be much of a Mega Man game without being difficult on one's first run. Especially when it comes to bosses, sometimes they simply have attacks that are pretty much impossible to avoid until after you've had a moment to figure them out. And this demake seems to do a good job of capturing that, while also being completely fair with the solutions to those obstacles. Like that Dark Mantis slash. It doesn't seem too bad once you've figured it out, but there's no way you're avoiding it your first time. That's classic Mega Man game design, right there.
@patu8010Ай бұрын
That flurry of slashes is nuts

Its waaaaaay slower and way more telegraphed on the normal X8. I feel like this may have been the developer having playtested so much they got absurdly good, and shortened the timing because it was 'too easy' for them by the time they got to this boss.

It sounds like the Mega Man universe can't make up its mind whether or not robots have free will or if they only do bad things if they're "made evil" by villains. Like a less convoluted Detroit: Become Human.
@apselbluestar2223Ай бұрын
it's pretty simple. In classic Mega Man, Robots had to be corrupted in some way to become evil, or they had to be built as a weapon. By the time the X series comes around, there's a literal Virus left behind by Dr.Wily that causes reploids to go maverick. Then by X8, reploids immune to the virus are created, but they have *such* free will that they can, of their own volition, turn against humans.
@BillPairaktaridisАй бұрын
This is incredible. Don't know if they lifted those sprites from another game but the animations and design is fantastic.

Mantis is the hardest of the 8 in the original game too but this game buff him even more, that overdrive slash was supposed to be just 2 it's now 5 and a tad bit faster on the last 3 your dash jump has to be quite on point to dodge them all. It is fun to learn and execute tho, as Megaman game should be.
