Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds kzbin.infoUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.

You using cedar on your shed is your business. Those who get their nose bent over such things deserve to have their nose bent. Some people really struggle with minding their own business. I couldn't help but think about how wonderfully blessed one is to be doing what you are doing, right where you are doing it! That place must go a long ways toward giving you peace of mind. Good for you young man, good for you. 😎👍

This disabled veteran says,,don't let the bad comments bother you,,you have plenty of cedar for other projects. I think you did a wonderful job ALL by yourself. That is a great job...I grew up as a kid pulling logs out of woods n sawing. Loved video 👍

I live in the UK. In the first World War, 1914 - 1918, the government supplied small engineering firms with workshops, some made of cedar. There was one not far from me that was still in great shape the last time I saw it around 2001. That's a lot of winters, summers, snow and rain, scorching sun, woodworm etc. Cedar is a great wood!! It also makes superb guitar tops. Maybe the slice through the middle, which equates to being quarter cut, would have been a lot more valuable to sell to guitar makers. Thanks for uploading a glimpse of your life!

That's exactly what I was going to say! I don't know what's wrong with people. They get so bent out of shape over things that are none of their business; it's just ridiculous. But I sure wish I had some of that wood. It's very beautiful.

You can do whatever YOU like with your wood!!! If people don't LIKE something then they should turn it off. I'm soooo tired of people being "offended" by anything and everything!! To those people: suck it up buttercups and move on!! LOVE THE CEDAR ON THE SHED!! Good job!!!

lol was about to say the same thing... I really don't get how people can be so self entitled that they think they can tell others what they can / can't do with the other persons property, If they think one shed wall made out of cedar is bad they'd hate to see some of the stables and animal enclosures I've worked in the entire structure was made from cedar, (the ones that weren't made with Iron Bark) all harvested from the property they were built on.

I don't know if I would have used such beautiful wood for that but You have made the most beautiful shed I have seen. I understand where you are coming from. I am a sewer and when I see beautiful material sometimes regardless of the cost I just go for it and buy me a yard or two and make something I can just enjoy and love, maybe it is the texture, the look or the color but I never regret it and I know you won't either. Sometimes I think people forget all the hard work we as artist put in to things and sell and that we also deserve "pretty" things. Congratulations on a job well done. Wish I could smell that cedar. Enjoy. If you happen to have a couple of boards left put them up in your daughters closet, years later when she smells cedar she will automaticly think of you. and a little block truck or car for your son.

Beautiful ! ! It's like looking at an OLD COVERED BRIDGE. I would build yokes from 4x6x18 and screw them to the posts. Then rest the purlins in the yokes. Just make sure to only secure one yoke first and clamp the opposite end. It will need to move around to get the purlin in. Then screw it to that post. - KJ

Well food for thought maybe he has a brush hog on the tractor and in order to get the tractor under cover with a front bucket and the brush hog adds weight to keep rear wheels on the ground when he's lifting a log , so he backs it in and the hog fits under the shorter board area and out the back of the shed . Which is logical to protect the bigger part of his investment. As far as people complaints about the use of the cedar planks he owns the right to use them anyway he desires even biulding an out house if he desires.!
