When are you & other people commenting the same that it was a different time. Life was different. You can plainly see that these women are not saying they were raped. They went to listen to the music & get close to the people they admired. Life was much more free & way less judgemental. A lot of these young ladies were well cared for, some such as Pamela De Barr went on to write books, some were supported to make their own music. Don't make something horrid when it wasn't. These girls went to the clubs & hung out backstage to meet these performers. They knew what they were doing & were in no way innocent in what could possibly happen. As I said..the time was different. Life was an experience & everyone wanted to experience & and explore.

@@virginiawilliams7282 meh, not really it's why parents didn't really like rock n rool and or what they deemed to be suggestive movements. They knew it would be a Segway to sexual behavior. So no it wasn't really a different time in terms of the parents didn't want their kids fucking anyone... It's just simply the laws wasn't either strictly enforced or you had to go though humiliation to testify to prove your case.

This is why I don’t believe anyone who apologizes for these deplorable men with victim blaming statements like “oh it was different time!” Or “they knew what they were doing, they WANTED it”.. when it was really just a case of the rich and powerful men in the world getting away with anything they damn well pleased. Celebrities, especially rock celebrities, were a different ballpark back then. They absolutely could have had their pick of WOMEN throwing themselves at them, but they CHOSE to sleep with/ abuse VERY underage girls. You can in no way refer to girls between the ages of 12-14 as “women” those aren’t women they are CHILDREN. The actor Elliot page said it best playing a child role in hard candy “it’s just so EASY to blame a kid, isn’t it? just because a girl is old enough to act like a woman, DOESNT mean she’s old enough to do what a woman does.” Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I was a groupie in the 70's and all you had to do was stay in the theater after the concert and then walk up to the stage and ask the roadies, "Hey! Where's the band staying?" And they would tell you which hotel. So then you'd go to the hotel and hang around in the lobby until you saw somebody relevant (a band member, manager, etc.) and then you just charm them until they invite you either out, wherever they were going, or up to the rooms. It was pretty easy back then! And it was a blast!

I have zero regrets about being an 80s metal groupie. It's a fun lifestyle, and I had my fun. But I never made the mistake of thinking I would have a serious relationship with any of these guys. @Baxter_canada_dry yes, that makes sense. People with power are used to getting their own way at all times, which of course is not always possible when interacting with confident, assertive adults. So to continue the power trip, younger or vulnerable people are 1st choice for some of the scum with power. It is gross, it's exploitation and, yes you're right that it's a good sign for society that more people recognize that.

Now I'm not saying there wasn't any abuse, there was bound to be, but the women in this video were professionals in this field. They sought out the most famous men they could, and slept with them to get free drugs, and to have a taste of fame. Same thing happens today, only with Basketball players and rappers. What you have to remember is that these young women were the ones doing the seducing. I agree that the age thing is a bit messed up, but these young women went out with the sole desire to bed famous musicians and try and make a career out of it. While 2 wrongs do not make a right, you can't fully blame the artists. These Girls were incredibly good looking and putting it all out there to be taken. My issue stands with society that seems to think that people like Keith Richards get a pass, because of how famous they are. If a regular guy did the same thing, they'd be lynched. That guy was still bedding 15 year olds in his 70's.

Society also has not changed, this stuff still goes on. On the surface level, people get more offended, but that is not a true representation of what actually goes on. Things are way worse now than they were back then. You have entire sects set up to this kind of debauchery, and keeping it hidden. Just look at Epstein's Island, prime example of what goes on behind closed doors. Also most of the terminally offended, stuff is actually just twitter bots. It's being exposed right now. Whenever you seen an extreme opinion, leaning one way or the other (in the left/right paradigm) it's like 90+% a bot. It's all part of the new age of bread/circus/divide&conquer. Distractions that also play us off against each other, it's what everything is about now.

This is such sloppy reporting. Bebe Buell also had a very famous affair with Elvis Costello which ended his marriage with his childhood sweetheart Mary Burgoyne. It was a shameful episode that he regrets to this very day. The only good news is that Elvis has a decent relationship with his son Matthew McManus. And then while dating Costello, to which she claims her unending love for his to this very day, she fucked Billy Idol which very promptly ended their affair. Elvis refuses to have any contact with her in spite of her stalking him for many years. Her book has many delusional accounts of how she was his muse.

I'd say it was the rock stars that were more naïve TBH. These Girls came along knowing fine well what they were doing, they wanted some of that fame, and to live the life, free drugs and drink and to be seen. same thing happens now, only it's with athletes and rappers instead, and they usually land them with a baby, then take them for half of their sh17 in civil court. always the mans fault though, right. Women have always used their looks and s3xuality to get ahead. I mean just look at todays paradigm with OF, etc. Women also mature a hell of a lot faster than men do, because their biological clock starts ticking before ours. It was always standard for older men to marry younger women, because they have more child bearing years. these athletes and rappers need to go to training now, to avoid the groupies ruining their lives. They know fine well what they are doing, it's not like they're naïve, children. When I left school in the 90's, the Girls my age were going to nightclubs and sleeping with dudes every weekend. It's always been this way.

What about the nutjob that got psycho over Jim Morrison? I'm given to understand she made some type of headlines when she claimed to be pregnant by Morrison, and aborted it (it turned out to probably not be Morrison's baby, and that was the reason behind the abortion). Granted, she wasn't a child at the time, iirc. She got a small role in The Doors movie as a witch-priestess, wrote a book, and has great difficulty keeping a dead lady's name out of her mouth.

I read her book. She was not kind to Pam’s memory but she did get a ring back that she gave Jim and said it was decent of Pam to send it to her. I never heard the band say for sure that she was lying.

@Fred Carpenter ☑️ Such an accurate and detailed description of the current state of government. Politicians and high level bureaucrats of the leftist persuasion have seen to it that the social services industry keeps millions of so called "minorities" in a perpetual state of government dependent poverty(which helps keep those politicians in power)! Of course it's helpful that they have 95% of the "news" media to help spread their socially destructive propaganda.... Apparently, convincing entire races of people that they are _doomed_ to failure, then keeping them forever desperate, poor and completely dependent, is very enriching and empowering(for corrupt oligarchs who are already rich and empowered, but who seek more of both)! 👺👿👹

Nutjob? Possibly She was a practicing Wiccan witch & supposedly Jim was enamored with her. From what I've read, this is true. She wasn't a groupie, though. She was a journalist doing a story on Jom & the doors. That puts her in a different class. Was she disrespectful to Pam? Yes. Did the witch & Jim marry? That's questionable & definitely not legally if said ceremony occurred. I don't think she's given up yet on trying to claim what she thinks should be hers. Jim had a fling with her. His heart was always with Pam & that in the long run may have killed him. But staying here in the US would've killed him also. Just an opinion from someone who has read a lot of Morrison/Doors books, did some research & watched some crazy documentaries.

@@virginiawilliams7282 🚫 I hope you didn't base your opinions on what you may have read in the 1980 book, "No One Here Gets Out Alive"(I'll call it NOHGOA from here onward). I personally read that book in 1983 or 84, when I was about 15-16 years old. I believed it, because I was young, naive, and I hadn't yet learned how dishonest people in the media can be. Besides, there was no internet and no way to prove or disprove it's claims. Before reading it, I _really_ wanted to like Jim Morrison as a person. But after reading it, I couldn't stand the guy! That's because the authors made him out to be a self obsessed narcissist/sociopath. They described his relationship with Pam Courson in a way that made him out to be a perpetual abuser who didn't really love or respect her, but that she was infatuated with him. They said he basically screwed everything that walked. They said that she had an affair or two, but her cheating was just her way of getting back at him for his abuses. But that in the meantime, they said she spent her life as a lovelorn waif, desperately waiting for Jim to finally accept and love her. They portrayed The Doors as being the "Jim Morrison band", and that the other 3 band members were expendable. They insinuated that was how Jim viewed the other 3 members of the band. They made him out to be a control freak who opposed all authority, and who insisted on always being boss. They described Jim Morrison as becoming so whacked out on hallucinogens in the last year or 2 of his life, that he basically lost track of reality, and it was nearly impossible to have a normal, sane conversation with him as a result. Then he died...... 🤔 But many years later, the internet sprang into existence, and I was able to listen to Jim in his own words in interviews, and I read _other_ information, including from the people who knew him best. Turns out that 90+% of the incredibly negative claims made against him in NOHGOA were either grossly exaggerated, or completely fabricated! He was definitely NOT the insensitive, purely selfish, disrespectful a-hole they made him out to be. There are LONG interviews of Jim, where he genuinely seems like an intelligent, centered, thoughtful, respectful guy. His biggest problem was alcoholism, and like many drinkers, he could be an annoying and occasionally vulgar drunk. Unfortunately, he kept drinking, and when drunk, it caused problems in his band and in his social life.

@HighlanderNorth1 I'm not really sure how you perceived my comment as negative. In 1982, I graduated high school & had been listening to the doors since I was 12. I have seen multiple interviews with Jim & the other band members. There are also interviews with the Pamela & the crazy witch chick. Jim was an alcoholic for the most part but had moments he didn't drink to excess. He did do hallucinogenics, the whole band did in the beginning. That's basically where the name of the band came from, Doors of Perception. Jim was actually in film school in California. If I remember correctly, he met Ray while he (Jim) was living close to the beach. the other band members came next. I've read every book there is to read, I also own some very hard to find photographs of Jim along with 2 of his poetry books. You should read those if you're truly interested in how Jim's mind worked. He was a highly intelligent individual, but with that creative genius also comes a bit of wildness. Jim was tired of the US scene & decided to go to Paris for a break with Pam. He did have plans to continue with the band. But that didn't happen. His death is a whole other range of stories. The following are theories on his death... 1. He simply had a heart attack & passed. 2. Pam had drugs (heroin) brought to the apartment & Jim mistakenly did a line or so thinking it was cocaine. It's said Jim never did heroin. It wasn't his thing. 3. He went out to a local bar & scored the dope, od'd in the bathroom & was then taken back to the apartment & placed in the tub. 4. Jim didn't die. The death was all a ruse, so no one would look for him. He just wanted to write poetry & make films. As I hope you can tell by my answer to your statement, I am a Morrison & Doors fan & have been for a very long time. I'm not sure where you got the idea that I had gotten information from that 1 book. You should probably search interviews for "the witch" & listen to what she has to say. She is definitely one-sided & somewhat self-serving in her version of things.

I've knownthe most legendary rockers and became part of rock history They never knew my real age until my book came out in 2014. 30 years later and those boys are the only people i would still trust with my life. And this list doesn't have one real 80s groupie. We took backstage to another level and experience. We are parodied often but never given the credit we deserve. And I'm not talking pathetic LA scene. The groupies in Salt Lake City were the groupie capital of the world in the 80s. Rockers would take two, three days off and make memories and great friendships. 80s groupies owned our backstage life and dominated the rock stars we bedded...they chased after us. Rock stars are a groupie's groupie. I dated rockers for 5, 8, 13 years and had a couple songs with me...like being mentioned in The Who song, Old Red Wine. Those watered down 70s groupies pretend they did. 80s ladies ruled the backstage world and their lives. Give us some love and credit where it is due.
