These COMPLETELY Transformed My 1988 Foxbody Mustang GT!!

These LX Foxbody Taillights I installed on my 1988 Foxbody Mustang GT were and absolute MUST! Getting rid of the "Cheese Grater" style taillights might rub some people the wrong way but I truly think it completes the look of the rear end and I'm very happy with the outcome! Head lights are next!

I love the cheese graters man Especially when they are paint matched with the actual car itself, but if you’re going for a modern look the new headlights are so much better! Plus for some reason those look very good with the black paint.

The problem with the graters and one of the main reason most people change theirs is really not for looks, most fucking idiots are texting and driving these days and not paying attention. When these cars came out cellphones and infotainment screens didn't really exist, only rich people had cellphones so everyone was paying attention and driving,during the day graters can be difficult to see specially on bright summer days hence the big LX taillights and massive amounts of light, i have a 89 LX and a 91 GT and on my 91 everytime i would start to turn somewhere i would almost get hit ,once i went to LX tailights that was cut almost in half, i do like the graters best but i like my car more,lol.

I personally like the old style. But I am an old guy that used to own that body style when they were new. But the LX lights will grow on me for sure. Not bad. Also, yes, just get stock headlights! Love that you changed your mind on those. Met you at MW, and you and your girl are cool!

Cheese graders is what made it an 88 iconic gt. Me as a kid i knew when i saw those cheese graders from far i knew it was a special car. Please keep it stock, or just make the full damage and make it look like an LX

Those "cheese graters" as you call them, are awesome. They were the first thing I noticed as I shopped Mustangs in 1988. Mine are staying, although the headlights are definitely going to be improved.

looks good, like your tail light, e bay or Amazon get a pair pretty reasonable price, so I just ordered a set of front chrome led, head light assembly for my 2000 Stang, so on the bottom of the light starting at the grill and running to fender and up to the hood in a Led and a set of led head Lite and the amber turn signals, also led for $149. plus taxes. the head light bulbs have a fan in it and they plug right in. So Amazon has a set for your foxbody for $102 to $126 for the chrome head lights

Go stock three piece. If you tint them, go watch Django unchained about the masks in the beginning. The stock 3 piece from LMR/ AM is a great way to go.

The "IN THING" these days on the GT is to keep the original tail lights in place IF THEY ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. Some guys remove them to "keep them / save them" because they are getting so scarce now. I have to admit yours were a bit faded and dull compared to the paint so I get why you did this and you like the other ones better. Yes, I was going to say to change out the "EURO HEADLIGHTS" LMR has all the choices on their site, however ONE PIECE HEADLIGHTS are "not in style or trendy right now" I was thinking on ordering a set of smoked headlights for my 1990 GT next on my list. They do however cut down on night visibility.

Sorry but the Cheese Graters look better when you put one of the new one on and did a comparison to me the Graters look more aggressive and the new ones looked simple. I think the Graters would look better if you restored/modded them.
