I find a lot of success with putting the fiddler on the hook point and not leaving the hook point exposed, and it seems to help with the hook up ratio a lot

Glad to see you released the sheepshead. I fish for sheeps a lot in Jersey and have seen people keeping stringers of 5-6 of them. It’s a shame

True. Gotta respect this fishery

Do you guys have regulations for them yet? We still don't in Delaware. I'd say only 1% goes back here, unfortunately.
@andrewpolitsky94744 ай бұрын
@@mrxracing there is no regulation on them in Jersey. And I’ve seen so many caught and kept. Down south I believe it’s a one bag limog

There is a easy way to catch those fiddlers. Find area with lots of crab holes. Dig a hole to put a bucket in, backfill around bucket leaving the top flush with ground surface. Throw a fish carcass in. Step back and watch crabs jump in. Give them time and they will fill bucket.

Awesome fishing - some beautiful tog and sheepshead and very satisfying collecting the bait. Are sheepshead out of season or you let them go because they aren’t very abundant in the northeast?

May i ask the approx. depth you were getting them from, near the sod? I didn't even think about trying for them in those areas. (Fishing in a different state, btw) Thanks for the video!

Yo bro here’s a little trick to help catch fiddler crabs you still get dirty but it helps bring a long screw driver and right behind every hole stab the screwdriver strait down and they back out of their hole and grab them not sure if you knew that trick that’s how we catch them in wildwood nj
