Sazan, Stevie - I feel you!! Do I have a story for you! I live in LA, I’m Persian, but not wanting a big wedding myself, my husband, being Indian, said let’s have a big wedding in India. So we did. We got there 10 days before the wedding and my suitcase with all my Indian outfits was lost. It didn’t show up until 12 days later. We had to scramble to get all my outfits done. Then we found out the “wedding planner” we had been working with for 6 months, who I sent a 20 page PowerPoint to with every little detail, was actually a florist and NOTHING was done. I had asked for a cascading bouquet of orchids and got what looked like a bushel of radishes! I had asked for a simple white and rose gold cake, and was offered a unicorn cake. No joke!! I have pictures I’d be happy to send you. Lol. Needless to say, it made me and my husband even stronger and we can laugh about it now. That’s what happens when you marry your best friend! ♥️

stevie and sazan...these past couple of days have been rough. and bc my sadness comes in unexpected waves that I can never properly prepare myself for, it's difficult to immediately get myself back up after. but for 3 night straight, I've been listening to your voices on the Good Life podcasts and letting the wonderful lessons sink in to counter the stress. it's honestly the best part of my day and I cannot be more grateful for the fact that two beautiful individuals that I have never met before, have changed my life for the better. OMG YOU Guyssss, I know Saz you probably won't see this comment, but I had to say it. You two are my fave and I love you guys so much, this video lit made me cry. I'm also a middle eastern girl, Persian, who migrated to the States when she was 16. I come from a very traditional country, and my parents always believed since they sacrificed their life for me to come to the states, I need to either be a doctor or an engineer. Saz I know the feeling of being disowned!! I've been there too. I met my Fiance through friends online 5 years ago. my parents were totally against it because he was living in Texas and I was in SF, they didn't like his job, and also he comes from a different religion background even though he is persian. Not that my parents are religious or anything, but this was one of their excuse. The same year i started dating my Fiance, I got into Pharmacy school and moved to LA. Long story short, I ended up quitting Med school, got a job at Neiman Marcus and started Going to Art School. After a year of dating my fiance, we decided for me to move to Houston temporarily. My mom flipped when I told her and didn't take me serious. they threaded me to move back home. LONG Story Short, I ended up Moving to Houston without telling them, that's when they stopped talking to me. We are good now and we are getting married either next year or the year after, but still to this day my dad doesn't believe in me because I left Med school and started my blogging journey and youtube last year. Just because I don't make lot of money out of my passion, he tells me that he's never watched my youtube video and made fun of my Instagram. Not gonna lie, It's hard when you have no support from your own family, but I have learned to give it time, believe in myself and let him express his feeling even though it can be heartbreaking at times. Afterall, I can't change a 60 year old man mindset, but I can change myself for better. sorry for the long Ass comment, but i love you guys so much and wanted to share. ❣❣
