What sucks about AERO is that I couldn't figure out how to buy it in February (relatively new to crypto) before it exploded, so I gave up. Go to the base website, and you can start there. Or Go to your Coinbase account, buy ETH, and bridge it to the base chain. That will turn into Based ETH, and that’s what you use to buy everything on BASE. There are tons of KZbin videos that’ll help you learn.
