Visualize, relax, execute. While separating the spirit from the vessel. As I write out this cue, I realize that I normally do the exact opposite. I usually visualize, tense up, ramp up my anxiousness, doubt and insecurity, and then I stumble through my execution. Then that bad rep just continues to compound on my future attempts. Then at most I end up improving at a crawling speed. I see now that the issue which has plagued my self esteem throughout my whole life was as simple a fundamental issue. Thanks for the video man. This was some good insight.

I’m the same way. It seems that we share a self critical and analytical mind. While It is a powerful tool, it’s ultimately one of dissection and not creative action. The struggle for people like us is learning to get out of our own way, and not imposing our will on natural processes (like the expression of strength) in a way that impedes them. It’s clear to me you see that the value of these cues extend way beyond lifting weights, even though I didn’t explicitly say as much in the video. I really appreciate that you have given it that much thought. On a side note, if getting bogged down in your thinking is negatively effecting you then I highly recommend practicing a martial art like jujitsu, or really any combative martial art that allows sparring. In fighting the tendency to tense up or retreat into your mind is swiftly punished by losing as your actions become slow and predictable and your strength is sapped. This provides a feedback that can be extremely helpful for changing your mental habits, even when you’re not fighting. This entire video is actually all just derived from insights I’ve had while grappling! Thanks for watching.

This information is actually quite helpful and I really never would have guessed this video was made by a small channel had I not checked the comments afterwards. Amazing content for such an unnoticed channel, thank you for the information and keep up the good work :)))

It should all carry over, but it won’t be as intuitive because there’s usually a degree of fear involved in heavier lifts. Your best bet is to just keep consciously trying these cues until they work for everything. It might also be useful to practice them on accessory lifts like curls or tricep extensions where there’s less pressure

1:20 Sound similar to the "Secret Game of Tennis",or what kenjutsu is called "cutting without intent" Lone Wolf and Cub has a really nice chapter on it called The Gateless Barrier. Also similar to "visualization before act" from prestidigitation.

It’s my pleasure! You might find my previous video on “total concentration breathing” to be useful to. If you perform that breathing technique as you perform any kind of muscular action, it becomes dramatically empowered in a way that stacks with the ideas shown here. Strengthening sword cuts Is also hilariously the exact underlying concept of the anime “Demon Slayer” which that video is themed around!
