I kind of h8 fashion trends. To me they make people look like sheep. Don't follow any trend. Make your own. Really? polka dots, naw this "trend" is done being as it, never really ever fully engaged a take off. Some trends remind me of someone trying way too hard to make "fetch" happen. Any way, as soon as the new trend explodes, there are twenty more to follow. As for pedal pushers... They are best suited for kids under ~24. I want to see the thick belts with medallions. I predict ornamental type embellishments crashing into the scene, especially distressed metal and futuristic post Armageddon deconstructed looks with splashes of washed out colors. Not pastels but faded primaries. I think mixes of both neutrals and colorful primaries, as well as mixed materials and textures will prevail. Sustainability and durable long lasting clothing and accessories must be made more available for all. Let's all re-create and experiment with our own original curated looks.?

@@Sweet-fn6po So true. My home decor is classic as well. I buy furniture that will wear out before it goes out of style. Pillows & paint are inexpensive options when I feel the need for a freshen up. @@Sweet-fn6po Great minds... I believe interior decorators are already saying that grey is out. I remember when they said wood parquet flooring was "dated". Now it's back in style. Years ago, my sister had all her original parquet replaced with new hard woods in the same tone. It was very expensive and, IMO, was neither an improvement or a detraction. It was just a change. At least she didn't put down grey planks.

Pedal pushers/capris/clam diggers (now that's a name that goes way back, but are in the same genre) date back to the 1950's. Girls would roll up their jeans to achieve the look. As a (52 year old) woman who developed Morton’s neuromas in both feet from wearing heels/too narrow shoes, IT’S NOT WORTH IT! When your feet are messed up, your hips, knees, back can get messed up. Capri pants are so comfortable during summer. I'm really excited to see them back in style. I have been hesitant to wear them because the only women who i have seen wearing them are women above a certain age and I although I am above a certain age I don't want to be stereotypically old.

When you first said there was going to be something very polarizing, I thought it would be capris. At 49 years old, I will never wear capris again because to me they’re associated with being older. I always considered polo shirts to be classic. It’s always interesting to learn what’s considered out of style that I may not have even realized was the case.

Your memories are hilarious as I was just thick in new mom mode in the mid-late 2000's so the entire world passed me by... and now I'm waking up going crap, how do I look on trend without TRYING hard to pass as younger, when I love my age. :)

1950s-pedal pushers. 1940s-polka dots. 1970s-ruffles, often with psychedelic prints. 1950s-early 1960s-ballet flats, followed by 1970s casual shoes in “ballet flat look.” 1980s-athletic fashion took off, and I’d say, took over as it has never waned. Peplums? On the runway and Oscars mainly, a flash in the 2010s, a masking faux-illusion that betrays you have something to hide. Baguettes? Practicality has always won out in the long run over bread shapes. Heels again? Go for it, ruin your feet, feel them ache. Didn’t our grandmas change that in the last quarter of the last century? Pointed shoes-so, so late 50s. Going back 70 years is the best they can do? Polo and collared shirts and scoop neck shirts switch roles all the time. Thanks for the fascinating review. The common sense of women kicked in hard in the 70s when the “fashion designers” in one decade went from mini skirts to calf length to above the knee to below the knee. All their shenanigans managed to do is switch many disgusted women from skirts to slacks. Flowing with the trends is fun-until it gets old.

Pedal pushers and all pants above the ankle bone should be very slim fitting to look the most flattering. They extend your legs visually, unlike baggy, cropped pants which look like you've had a sudden growth spurt or shrunk them in the dryer. They also have to hit your calves in a spot most flattering to YOUR legs, not the same for all women.

This is why I love buying from Poshmark. Women selling the original versions of these items for a fraction of the original cost. However, I've never heard of mesh flats so I may have to pay full price. The extra $ will be saved by not needing pedicures! I've wanted the 'granny heels' for years so happy they are back, but I don't like block heels. I wish Queen Anne or French heels (many names for them) were more available. Feminine curved heel and wider base so more stability, unlike stilettoes. Thanks for the updates!

Hey Miss Moore. Great video. Just subscribed. Ok so as far as the pop color question. Yes to the pop color, but its unique to the outfit. If the pop color looks good with the outfit then wear it. This to me is a timeless style trend because we all get bored with no pop colors. Again it just depends on the outfit.

I am opposite, thin with thin legs so I like capris to visually stop at the widest part of my calves. I also like to hide my knobby knees so if they hit the top of my calves that also works for me. We have to make the trends work for our own bodies.

The fashion cycle is approximately every 25 years ... and fabric design houses create the color trends, which fashion designers shop for ahead of the season. So all these "trends" are completely manufactured based on that cycle ... just look at how everyone teased Crocs and fanny packs until recently 😂 ... literally nothing changed except the audience perception (social media influences, celebrities, etc) Just wear what you like and what feels comfortable and forget the trends. I spent $40k to learn the fashion business was NOT about design ... but marketing. 😢

I’m 70, so I’ve gone through the fashions of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, etc. Everything is the same, just different names (we called them stretch pants, then stir-up pants, etc.) Shorts-Shorts turned into hot pants, then daisy dukes, etc. Ballerina flats were in style back in the 50’s, and then other years. Bottom line is keep your good clothing because they will always come back into style and wear what looks good on you. BTW, those little heels were called “queen heels” when I was a kid. They were the very first “heel” my mother allowed me to wear! 😂
