Failing companies often go through a ‘turnaround’ phase (assuming they aren’t simply allowed to go bust). It usually involves painful financial and strategic decisions to correct for past mistakes. This is exactly what Ratcliffe is leading at the moment. United are a failing club that he is trying to turn around- he isn’t the cause of the underlying problems, he’s trying to address them. The thing with the cuts and the ticket prices is they're probably necessary, but the PR is shocking. I agree with what Ste is saying, keep it cheap for students, kids and elderly and pay the 40k yourself. It shouldn't be that hard to do really. On the other hand it's always going to be the negatives that are reported on like this. Sky Sports barely mentioned the fact there's no dividends to be taken out in the next 3 years. The media will always report the negative
@mg355417 күн бұрын
You seem to be the only sensible voice in these comments. It needs to be ruthless unfortunately, and they are including themselves in that. We are an utter mess. I can only imagine the shitshow behind the scenes. I'm happy they're willing to take the bad pr and make tough choices.
@ricecookie8616 күн бұрын
@mg3554 there's always going to be bad PR when there's cost cutting involved. The Glazers have mismanaged the club so badly that INEOS are forced into it. Yes, on the surface, 40k per year isn't much, but extrapolate that over the Glazers regime and add all the other similar costs and that adds up to quite a lot. INEOS's trademark is marginal gains and that's exactly what they're doing rn.

@d.b.cooper117 күн бұрын
100% this! I hate how there was 0 fan & media pressure to make the 'sale process' more competitive. We spent 18 years protesting every year....& then gave up during a long 8 month process, the whole mainstream/most big fan channels wrote off qatar & backed Ineos. We literally put 0 pressure, had few expectations etc. Qatar made it clear they wanted 100% due to the level of investment planned. We should've pushed, in the end we gave Glazers exactly what they wanted. They played us. They never wanted to sell to Qatar cause they think there's billions left on the table as seen by inflow of American investor money. We had a rare shot...we blew it, some glazers were divided & wanted a full sell but joel/avaram didn't. Even 1958 fan groups went quiet. Compare that to Chelsea who had a huge public bidding process where all prospective owners were publicly making huge commitments.... Hence why Clearlake/Todd Bohely spent so much...cause they promised it
@MannyAdegunju17 күн бұрын
The thing is jay and them lot know all of this but they can’t put their bias aside and hide behind “the bid was fake, not real, ai” like they just forgot there was a public bidding race for months where deadline were extended because of this so called fake bid. The truth is the glazers never wanted to fully sell the club and opted for what suited them not the club

I was actually thinking exactly this. The panel was talking about finishing 9th or even 8th?! Maybe i'm a 'glass half full' type of person, but...i'm just praying we don't get relegated. We're getting nothing from the teams that are in the top half; they're playing for each other and like a team, we're not. We MUST be beating the teams below and around us in the bottom half. My only saving thought is that Amorim (once we're out of the FA Cup, too) will have more time with the players to get his ideas/system through to them. This, and the signing of one or two players, SHOULD see us safe...hopefully.

Hi Adam since the City game De Ligt missed the next three matches through illness, which unsettled our defense and the match De Ligt came back for Newcastle. Ugarte was out for reaching 5 yellow cards and Bruno lost us the match that he got another red card in and got sent off early leaving our team down to ten men. Bruno lost us that match and he then lost us the match he then missed for getting the red card and missing the Newcastle game and we needed him for that game. So with Ugarte and Bruno missing the Newcastle match in which our midfield and no 10 were changed that also unsettled our team picking replacements for Bruno and Ugarte and changing the defence putting De Ligt back in the Newcastle match which was our most disrupted team, we have never had a settled team since beating City
@ste439217 күн бұрын
@@Edzmusik De Ligt also wasn't at fault for either goal, it was Martinez and Maguire. Bruno will be 2 matches now I think, because it's his second yellow. Do think we lost because he got sent off, but it's not just him to blame and shows we're worse without him, in that Newcastle game I agree with the players missing thing, but Ruben is rotating constantly and not just odd changes. I get why, but it's time to settle on a 15 or 16 and try get a song out of them. Really would just like to see him do that and have a really good run at the EL. We all know it's a combo of players and terrible club decision making problems that have got us here, not a managerial one. Same with Ugarte, or any player. If they say they want to leave, contract or not, then the club can either let them go or make them rot in the reserves. He's trying to fix the club, lots of things have to change! Can't believe the lack of patience 😂

I am willing to do poorly this season to get players out. This manager is the best we have had since Sir Alex. Mourinho was never a rebuild guy Amorim is and has a system that once he has some players will work and will cause other team’s problems.

how will we look at these Ineos decisions if United wins a title in the next three years?

From outside looking in its like Ashworth was scapegoated whilst Brailsford getting away with murder for doing nothing apart from being Jims friend and penny pinching with ludicrous financial decisions.
@seanwill9017 күн бұрын
Agree. Brailsford is only good at playing with bikes. What credentials does he have in football to justify any decisions?

The shots being fired at ETH are pathetic. Amorin hasn't inherited a mess. ETH won 2 trophies in 2 years and qualified for the Champs League yet this lot are saying they're ok with bottom half of the table with virtually the same team! Ineos and Glazer are the problem let's not lose focus!

Nah, ragnick still well worth mentioning, how many players are still here from then? Has anything changed in the culture since then? Absolutely is still relevant.

Those questions were clearly written by the non-United fans at Paddock 😅. I don’t know much about the others, but this had Ethan’s fingerprints all over it!

Radcliffe imo is route and branch sorting the club out from the bottom. Individually, these savings don't seem like a lot, but together, they make the club look more profitable. Then, a massive loan for the stadium can be leveraged to wipe out existing debt and build a stadium, with equivalent repayments dropping. I think he's come in and gone wtf sort out these finances or the medium term. Remember, stadium debt doesn't count for ffp.

How Ineos done at NICE should be a red flag, at the end of the day its sports washing. Amarin has not done much if he thinks Dalot can be LWB till Shaw n Malacia gets up to speed. Unless there is an attitude to training with Antony, our best bet to play him LWB n move Dalot to pivot with Ugarte n Amad RWB. Back 3 has to be Yoro, Deligt n Maz and try Mainoo at 10 with Bruno n dont matter Rasmus or Zirzee leads the line as both are poor. For rest of season might as well recall Hugil back from his loan spell just to provide additional option. Maguire should never play as the center CB as he is programme instinctively to drop 10-12 yds back n causes confusion to the back 5

It has finally happened. McKola is the most optimistic fan whenever United are not playing. N Joe Smith is the most optimistic person I have seen ever. N here United broke them both. 🙄

Maybe let the manager get a chance to get his own players. If you let him go before that it's just another INEOS failure, and those failures are wracking up.

Adam being upset by INEOS plans to build a stadium where are the plans by the glazers? Why isn’t he talking about those oh it’s because they didn’t have any. Carrington is being work on as we speak it started as soon as INEOS came in. We can be upset about anything else but why that?
@brianrossiter254717 күн бұрын
100% with McKola. Ratcliffe is nothing but a businessman. He is not the man to take this club forward.
@Gujxt47gjf17 күн бұрын
Ratcliffe is business first, football second. That’s the only way to rationalise the aggressive cost cutting. He’s trying to boost asset value to sell once he’s built new stadium.
