Jupiter’s devil form could also have taken inspiration from the Mongolian Deathworm. Another thing I want to point out is the design of Jupiter’s devil form may have been influenced by Monstro from Disney’s adaptation of Pinnochio. Even down to the habit of swallowing people whole.

Now that i think about it, it makes perfect sense that haki is stronger than devilfruit powers. If df powers are the manifestation of someone’s dreams and haki the manifestation of willpower, one’s own willpower to make their abmitions reality should be stronger than relying on dreamspowers, which may have not even been your own dreams coming true in df roulette. Does this make sense to any one else?

I think that’s the case if your fruits animal species is different from yours, since luffy is human and ate a human model fruit I think it automatically put him into a hybrid form by default

I was thinking what if they are nightmares. Think of it Imu is the opposite of Nika. Nika's powers are based off imagination and dreams. Imu having the powers of nightmares would line up as a foil to Nika powers. Also, we are assuming the devil fruits were yokai based ones what if they were nightmare constructs of Imu and were giving human based devil fruits. We saw how Kanjiro could make semi sentient sketches. What if Imu created these nightmares, gave them human based devil fruits, they would then have nightmare powers. Like crazy regeneration, teleportation, and being dreams can make peoples head explode as they attack the subconscious of the weak willed. As for their haki it could be a portion of Imu's since they are his constructs. And since inanimate objects can eat devil fruits constructs should be able to. Thoughts?
