Those phone cases look fantastic and I’m here for giving my loyalty cards the Apple Pay treatment! I always take your advice seriously because I have got some much out of some of your previous ones like for example, maternity jeans, extra coat over the knees, the pekapakka wheal chair bag and I’m sure there are many others. You have really helped my transit from Walker to ambulatory wheelchair use to full time power chair user so much smoother and less frustrating.

Instead of the cord for the phone, I use a Vera Bradley side purse/wallet. I am on my third one now and still love them. There is a pocket on the front for your phone, so much space and pockets for your money, change, cards, extra stuff. It is small and lightweight, but can get a little heavy depending on how big your phone is, and if you attach your keys to it like I do. I have a keychain with a hook on it for my keys, so I take that hook and clasp it onto the metal loop on my wallet strap and my hands are free. If I don't have my wallet on me, I will clasp them to one of my belt loops. Then recently, I had to get a new purse and because of past and current medical problems, I decided to get something that would accommodate me tremendously. I ended up buying a backpack diaper bag. It's not too big (it's smaller than a regular backpack), but it's not too small either. It has ample amount of storage so I can put in all my paperwork from doctor's offices into thus freeing my hands, organize everything I need to have on me, and have extra room to spare. My favorite part of this bag so far is the cup holder pockets on the sides. Instead of trying to carry my drink around my hand/arm or just leaving it behind because it's too much, I now pop it in one of those pockets and always have water with me. Combine that with the wallet and it is so much easier to get around and navigate (especially if you're using crutches, canes, walkers, etc.).

I have the phone cord thing as well. Game changer, I used to carry my phone in my mouth using the wrist strap all the time (going upstairs needing both hands and no pockets, walking with crutches and needing the phone to show tickets at a concert etcetera). Now it is always in easy reach. Love it. Added a “card sock” to the back which holds my driving license and hospital id and a few bank cards. Highly recommend the card sock as well.

One tip if you are going to use the meal kit thingy. Register one or two extra people. There fore you get an extra portion over for lunch the next day so you don't have to cook that too 😋😉 or even order let's say it's only you and your partner Order 3 meals each week but for 6-8 people. Then you only have too cook Monday, Wednesday, Friday. If you are okey with eating left overs😉

Some great ones here thanks Gem! 💎 The toothbrush has been on my list for a while in general, but now you've pointed out it can save spoons, I'm there! I wanted to add some others that are free and paid for that as a newly disabled person I adopted! 1) Google Assistant App - Free - available on iOS and Android - timers, alarms, reminders, shopping lists, dictation, can text, read out the time, read your notifications, have morning/day routines set up so you can do multiple things in one go, just by saying "good morning". Mine tells me the time, weather, a joke, opens my morning apps and wishes me a good day, all with one word! Anything you'd do on your phone you can make her do, if you're like me and ask google hundreds of things a day, then it's great. Or I just now said "OK Google, open KZbin", it helps me stay focused too so I'm not looking for apps or distracted by notifications. It's a Spoon Saviour as I sometimes don't really need to walk over to my phone or use my hands unnecessarily, so this helps if I just want to check notifications or send a text! 2) Alexa - a free app or comes with purchases of Amazon Echo, Pop & Dot devices (+ Ring Doorbell 2nd Gen) Prime Day prices and bundle so I can't be sure of the price, sorry! - similar functionality as the Google Assistant but is more accessible to the whole household enabling you to leave messages for each other, reminders, alarms, quizzes and of course, music! Connect to your Spotify, Amazon or Apple music to play your own playlists or Daily Mixes. If you want a household intercom or speaker system, buy one or more and you can converse with others in different rooms using "drop in" or make announcements using any of the above devices, whether you're home or away. She's helped me the most during cooking when I don't have my Google Assistant with timers, music and pop quizzes! The best thing about it has been the connectivity with the Ring Doorbell, with limited energy checking the door all morning isn't ideal, with the doorbell it really helps and also allows you to tell the individual to wait, as you may take a moment to answer the door. Again, this can be used as an intercom with the Alexa devices or the Ring app. Fantastically helpful and well worth the wait/price. I bought it on Prime Day and got an Amazon Pop for free, which is now my personal device so I can be chatting with everyone but remain comfortable in my space! The big clincher with Alexa is the supported devices, we've got Hive, so with two words the heating is up. I've seen light bulbs, kettles by Swan, blinds and motion sensors - to mention only a few, so the possibilities are endless. Alexa also has the "routines" option, like Google Assistant, but with the connectivity you can turn the kettle, heating, and lights on in one word or tap on the app, the future is bright! 3) Google Wallet - iOS and Android - Free - Similar to ApplePay for Android users and enables you to add Loyalty Cards, Gift Cards and Bank Cards all in one place with the added option of adding tickets from your GMail. The option to add to a smart watch is also a game changer for me. 4) Samsung Watch4 - bought on Prime Day for around £150 + free wireless charging pad - A superb suggestion from my partner to assist with directions without having to check my phone, see notifications, make calls, see texts, use my Google Assistant (so good when my phone is elsewhere in the house and not in "OK Google" shouting distance!) I've loved the Google Wallet option, so easy! Plus, with Samsung Health despite not having a wheelchair user option, it still records my "steps". I don't love using my phone whilst pushing the chair because it's a bit dirty sometimes so the watch is ideal to glance at. Wireless charging pad helps if plugging in chargers is difficult for any reason and it charges fast! I hope this techy essay was helpful and complementary to your video! Feel free to use/share this info if it's helpful for you or the community. Take care!

Hi @Charlieketchen, some great tips there! Although I'll add to your Samsung health app comment - I'm a wheelchair user myself & regularly use this app, on my phone ,sometimes pushing 10km. While it is pretty accurate with the distance covered I find it doesn't count the number of steps accurately, most times grossly inaccurate eg 56 steps for 5+km! I'm wondering if a smart watch, Fitbit etc would be more accurate & have a wheelchair setting?
@spacegirlchaz
@spacegirlchaz 11 ай бұрын
I'm so glad the comments have helped! This was my initial gripe, I wasn't sure so I tried it out and I found that it does record pushes as steps it seems! There is not a wheelchair setting, unlike with Apple Watches, and I think FitBit's don't either. Despite this, it still records my pushes which may be because it's on my wrist, not in a bag/pocket. Maybe the app things you've been cycling or in a car for 5km?! Also, please let me know about what arm exercises you do to get up to 10km?! Well done you!

Son works at Lowe’s Home Improvement stores ( he’s an appliance salesman) and got the vacuum on clearance and with his employee discount, got it at quite a bargain price. It’s made the carpets very clean. A few months ago , we had to switch my mom’s bed from the bed she’d slept in for over 70 years to a hospital bed , she’d been falling out of bed. Her bed hadn’t been moved for decades. The regular vacuum didn’t fit all the way under the bed and the headboard is bookcase one & very heavy. After we moved the bed out & before the hospital bed was delivered, I put Skippy the Wonder Vacuum to work. He made quick work of all the dust bunnies that were under mom’s bed

I have a Dyson hair dryer as well as an airwrap. Both are really nice to hold and don’t feel massively weighty, but if you’re looking for something to dry your hair quick as you can’t have your arms up too much, stick with the hair dryer as it gets the job done much faster imo. The airwrap is great for styling and I do love it, it just takes slightly longer to get dry hair.

So many fun things to wish for! Thank you! A quieter hairdryer is a very important consideration. When I was young and had long hair, I dried it every washing day, but now in my 60's I am half deaf and I attribute it to the loudness of the dryer since I never listened to loud music or used headphones. I wish I had known it would destroy my hearing. I've had a scrubby that holds soap and a Sonicare toothbrush for many years, and yes, they are fab. But my scrubby is not a sponge, it has a round top that fits into my hand and the brush can be rinsed and never gets nasty looking like the sponge and scrubby, but I do like that long handle. And that credit card thing sounds like a plan! I have never heard of it before. I really like when you share these sorts of videos and hope you keep making them! Even if I don't need, want, or already have, they are just fun to watch. From WA State in the USA, Thank YOU! 💜

StoCard is international! I'm in Canada and that's what I use. I don't have an Apple phone, so no Apple Pay, but I've considered using Google Pay. I recently got tapped for Amazon's review program and I'm eagerly awaiting account review time so I can progress to the top tier with no item price limits. I'm hoping to finally get a robo vacuum and a robo litter box. I got a Litter Genie through this program -like the Diaper Genie diaper bins with the bag refills built in except with strong bags for litter and it has a litter scoop hanging off the side. I have to move a litter box up to the office at night for the cats to go the bed and then I bring it back down to the laundry room in the mornings so I'm not sitting beside a litter box all day. Honestly, all the times I had to remember to bring a bag to do the scooping, find the litter scoop, balance the open bag and not spill... I just brought a dirty box upstairs. Now it's convenient, so I reliably do it.

I've thought about the vacuum and hair dryer before. But I just ... don't dry my hair. I just air dry it because I don't have the energy after a shower. It sounds like the Dyson might be worth it eventually. I've also thought about the lanyard thing because the number of times my phone falls has gotten ridiculous. Especially as my right (dominant) hand looses grip strength. For American viewers, the "Gousto" box looks just like "Hello Fresh". Very handy. I've found Every Plate to be more budget friendly, but fewer food options. But it's nice to have choices already made and the food organized for you.

I have the sponge thingy for the sink, it’s great! The lanyard things look good as I’m forever dropping my phone, the only thing is I have my bank card in a section at the back of my phone. I do have the apple wallet but don’t use it all the time for the bank card as it’s often awkward at the checkout and I get flustered with doing the face recognition, clicking the button and holding it over the card reader as often the card reader is too high!😂 Do other people find this too?? ( I do use apple wallet for tickets and many points/loyalty cards though) Also a game changer is my quokka cup holder. And a chilly mug for carrying coffee around- even at home if I’m walking - to save spillages!

Pill cutters for easier to swallow sizes or half doses, and also crushers if you can't swallow pills at all, are really good for medications you don't need to swallow whole, but sadly a lot of them do require that, and the ones that don't are often available in capsules so you can just open them and pour out the powder into some juice. I'd honestly find it far more exhausting to dispense a pill and then mess about breaking it down and then mixing it into a drink rather than just swallowing it whole though.

@danny5088 11 ай бұрын
@mydogeatspuke I have extra issue because I can't swallow tablets at all and I also have to thicken my drinks so I don't choke, which means opening capsules doesn't work because my drinks go lumpy at the bottom which I won't drink and medicine will be at the bottom. I have liquid form medicine but there not all thick and can cause choking. So I am yet to find a good way to take medicine safely

It's big enough for a bottle of water, medications, hair brush, the cover for my power control if it rains, a very large wallet, my phone etc. I also have a cross body bag that sits on my lap, as the back of my chair has some buggy hooks for shopping bags. I suppose it depends what kind of chair you have though. There are bags you can get that strap to the underside of your seat and hang below the chair and behind your legs if you don't have arms on your chair too. I just spread the weight depending on what I need and how regularly.

you shouldn't be implying its just people that struggle to brush their teeth that need electric toothbrushes. Electric toothbrushes are way better than manual toothbrushes as it gets removes more plaque.

I don't know that you intended this but this video feels like you had a few paid sponsorships to get out of the way.

I'm thinking about the electric toothbrush. Anything that helps save on spoon expenditure is with doing if you can afford it! I already have an electric vacuum. I'd love a Batek or something similar someday, but I don't think they're available in the US.
