Thanks Rich! I have to add, paddling is exhausting. I am a C rider, and have had races where I felt pretty good, then came up on a section where I paddled, then in no time felt wore out. Learning to keep my feet on the pegs!

Fear is often the root cause of dabbing-it’s bloody scary to be up on the pegs on a steep rocky hill. Would love to see some content on conquering fear and developing confidence. There’s definitely also a very fine line between bravery and stupidity when pushing the limits and trying to progress.

Good to see you there for a second Rich, great video! There was so much traction there this weekend that I felt like I could take some real hero lines on the rocks as long as I just kept at least one foot on the pegs. Fitness/hydration/nutrition is huge as well. This race ended up being basically a sprint, so even managing your energy during it was super important. This section was probably 2/3 into the course, and if I recall correctly, you come into it after something that keeps your heart rate up. With it being the second race, it was the middle of the day, so also nice and toasty. I saw and heard of quite a few people getting sick from the heat. Anyway, I was happy to make it through both sides with no issues and actually kind of enjoyed that section.

I used to ride a little when I was a kid started riding off road again earlier this year & as I watch your videos everything Rich says you should do sounds like common sense to me. Some of the mistakes ppl make I get but. The weighting the pegs & low r.p.ms instead of full throttle and counter weighting the machine all makes sense to me. Just wish I had more time to practice what Rich teaches if i did i would probablybe a pretty good rider. . Basically great video.

Are the pros hanging on to the handlebars to keep their weight back over rocks? Or are they still compensating for the uphill and barely straining their arms? I've struggled with this on rocky uphills
@IRCTireUSAMoto5 ай бұрын
Definitely physical fitness is a huge piece of this. But in this situation, we do see a knee position from the majority of top riders on the machine. This allows them to stay in front of the acceleration forces. Reducing strain on their arms.

Thank You Rich! I am 15H rider and have a question. I was last time riding my Husky TE150i and went up on section just like this with my 90Kg. (198lbs) If you want to imagine, just like the guy here 3:57 i would say it was steaper but i made it 2x up this hill and didn’t failed but i would like to understand, why is it “bad” ? The pro-s are using 300 2-stroke -s and went up just like this maybe in 3rd gear but if a 150 would go in 3rd i think i would have issues with my weight. Thank you! Love your vids!!

Awesome info Rich! What is the overall carcass thickness of the new tires? My rowdy gang and I prefer the IBEX due to its tough carcass and ability to hold up well with tubliss. Not all of us want/need bibs.....

@rehepeks I got a flat with that tire on my 4th ride. Good traction, but the tire wasn't as tough as the Ibex.

I’m almost 50. I sit a lot to conserve energy. I’m sure a lot of it is physical fitness and overall I don’t think my posture is great either as I think the way I stand uses too much strength and tires me out as well. I’m just a middle aged gumby with a hobby though not looking to podium anytime soon lol. Big VE33S fan though 👍

nothing about the riding technique, it is your expertise. But our balance sensors, the proprioceptors are too located in ankles and KNEES . the moment you seat, you are loosing a lot of informations about balance and corrections needed... You show us the static balance exercices; doing it sitting, and even using legs as counterweights like funambule guys, still makes it rather impossible because there are zero proprioceptors in our bum. You still have internal ears vestibular system but it is at the highest point of body and late on infos to correct posture. keep your great work; best to you !!
