Don't attack your neighbor because he believes the regime's lies... Attack the regime for lying, cheating, forcing people to do things they don't want to do, etc. The regime is not stupid, the regime is evil. Their goal is a society in which everyone and everything is connected to the Internet and generates data. Like in China, where you can hardly take a step without being caught by a camera.

Slower in a straight line but way more fun (and I thrashed the single EV I saw at a track day lol and he didn’t last past morning tea). What "evfacts" is trying to point out, is that even in an ICE car, the engine has to use extra power for things like your aircon compressor, etc. It still uses more energy than without. That energy comes from your engine having to work just a little bit harder and burn a little bit more fuel. This is the same as an EV. It's honestly the first accurate thing I've ever heard from an EVangelist, though. So, don't let his nasty demeanor get you down. Though he conveniently ignores the fact that an EV "tank" is vastly smaller with vastly less reserve and the energy you put into it costs more than the energy in the form of liquid petroleum that you put in your ICE. Running your aircon in your ICE car isn't going to drastically reduce your range in the same fashion as an EV, nor cost you anywhere near as much.

You have no idea what you're talking about. My full house solar system (paid for with house energy savings) the excess charges my EV and the cost is peanuts. Using whatever accessories is nearly free. My EV best car experience and best financial decision I ever made. 10 X cheaper than my long sold gas car. Such anti EV propaganda is spread by ignorance. Amazing as the comments made here are by "sheep" listening to uneducated people who have never driven an EV much less owned one. Good grief it's so idiotic.

So called "Range Anxiety" which is totally real has several different components. First is the obvious one, EVs for many reasons don't have anywhere near the advertised range. Secondly, chargers are often broken. Thirdly, you have to have an app in order to connect and pay, and that often doesn't work either. And lastly, you need to go hunting for a charger and go out of your way, often, just to find one.

Words have come to mean the opposite of their original intention. Progress now means regression. 250 miles range means 150 miles if you're lucky. Green means awful for the environment. Climate "change" now means same grotty weather as it always was.

As someone who works with tools I get to play with all sorts of drills and other gadgets that all have rechargeable batteries and all of them fail because of the battery. In 20 years you can go through 20 batteries so why would they expect a car to be any different? There's stupid and then there's EV owners
@doglvr1
@doglvr1 21 күн бұрын
Exactly. The only rechargeable item I like is my iPhone. I have to get a new one every 2-3 years because the battery degrades and I fill up my memory. I can’t stand any other types of rechargeable tools or electronics. You have to constantly remember to charge them when you don’t need them so that they will be charged when you want to use them. Then, surprise you go to use your rechargeable headphones, drill, toothbrush, shaver, etc, etc, etc and SURPRISE, the battery is dead and it is either non-replaceable or cost as much as purchasing a new one. If I buy something electric it must either plug in a wall socket or if portable, must have batteries that can be replaced in 10 seconds rather than 10 hours of charging.

I use a $50 flip phone. NO internet, NO "apps" NO anything but a plain phone. And I have no intention of ever changing. Those idiots who use f**k phones are giving away ALL their privacy and security. Four of my cars have loud, high powered, computer free, carbureted V8s and manual transmissions. And they are an absolute blast to drive. Sound, feel, and mechanical interaction with the car are all part of what driving is all about.

The essence of road-trip is to be able to go wherever you want whenever you want. Based on your will. EV transport is based on chargers, scheduled charging, in fact as a train. From cash in your pocket to prepaid card accounts limited to charger brands. This tells it all.

I love being dictated too, where, how far and when I can drive, by my vehicle and weather I can be warm or not. If only there was an alternative that could effortlessly give the driver control over all of those negative points, a vehicle that could be driven over any terrain, with low repair costs, low insurance, low maintenance, maybe a fuel with amazing energy characteristics, that puts batteries to shame, will be invented, as an option to EVs, that gives over double the range, can tow, go up hills, without being hugely hit on range, doesn’t eat tyres so fast, I guess this is the dream of science fiction 🤷🏻‍♂️.

When in the US on interstates at the service plazas, the ICE cars are in and out of the fore courts in less than a few minutes. However,, have a look at the section where the chargers are, the vehicles are tethered there for hours. Good luck with that nonsense for people who value their time while travelling.

Having to use a phone with an app to buy range is foolhardy. It’s not a stretch of the imagination to see this coming: “Hello Mr. Mguy……..we see that you’ve exceeded your mileage allowance this week. Charging of this vehicle will not be availble until xxxxx date. Please have a nice, carbon-free day.”

This makes a lot of sense and explains why Teslas and other EVs are always the slowest cars on the motorways. I couldn’t understand why they all seem to sit on 80 to 90k/h in 110k/h motorway, and why when you pass a Tesla, the woman (usually) sitting in the passenger seat seems to pointing and banging on the instrument panel while screaming at the driver as they slow down even more.

I try as often as I can to have fun, when on the road: If I can "provoke" an EV driver to race me, fx at a red light turning green - I always have a good laugh, when they zoom ahead with great accelleration. I know that they are looking on their big screen in the middle for where the next charger is already :D :D

If your shiny new EV has self driving why even bother to clear a fogged windscreen, except to get a bit of a pre-warning that it is going to crash into something.

RE: diminished range at highway speeds- On open highways, I typically drive 80-85 mph, traffic allowing, and I have never been passed by a Tesla. I can make a 300 mile trip with range to spare in our minivan on a full tank, driving at these speeds, using AC cold enough to chill soda.
