Heavy spoilers ahead: I can honestly agree to this. Even in the second playthrough's ending where Cath is alive, where Mark and Nicole's memories of each other went nonexistent, Cath's still there supporting him with his new date. ( And the fact that Nic is at the other table during the date with her own date, oh fck. )

I thought there was going to be a love triangle with Cathy, Nicole, and Mark. After Cathy saw Mark with Nicole at the fair she seriously looked like she was getting very jealous. After that Cathy just randomly wanted to hang out with Mark at his house that same night. She was almost getting clingy and she was bringing up these vibes. But Mark and Cathy's relationship was just platonic. More of a sibling relationship. But I think it would have been interesting if there was actually a love triangle.

It's so hard to watch Cathy go through those emotions man. I felt that way in high school too and it really does suck... Ya know? it starts as like 2 of your friends goes for basketball, then another 3 play chess and then you find yourself alone once the bell rings and you're just standing there.. with your own thoughts..

1:47:55 that's literally what I think about Cathy, I think she feels like falling behind, knowing her friends pursuing something, getting busier, then suddenly she's just all alone because she can't keep up with them. I don't think she harbors any romantic feelings for Mark, they just really have that solid, pure, and platonic friendship.
