Raising someone like a Child, only to fall in love with them, does feel squicky to me. But I decided to go through with it for two reasons. One - They weren't related in any way, since it was his friends' Daughter. And 2 - They waited till she graduated College, so while there is a Major age gap, they are both grown adults, and he made her be apart from him to help her sort her feelings (as well as his own) before committing to a relationship. I still don't 100% like this kind of story, and I don't blame anyone else for not being ok with this, but this was likely the only way a story like this could be told without crossing the line completely.
