Welcome back, great reaction.🦊'Karate' was the lead single for their second album, Metal Resistance, in 2016. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - it is also about keeping on moving forward. In the video the figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that). They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible. Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time. This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".

Great reaction, thanks and welcome back! You didn't know, but you actually summarized in your outro what the song is about. 😊 Because "Karate" is about moving forward, no matter how big the problems are or how bad the situation seems. It's all about endurance and resilience. In the music video they are fighting their inner demons, if you take a look at the reflection in their eyes you can see themselves there. Definitely an amazing music video, one of their best! Until next time! 🤘🦊

Great reaction ❤️🦊🤘 This is one of my (many) favourite songs by Babymetal. Su's vocals, the themes of this song, the performance and the composition make me get very emotional everytime. Absolute masterpiece.

Right on! Man, if you caught them opening for Korn, must have been ~2017 IIRC? They have definitely grown up, as people, but also in their confidence, stage presence, and as performers. Definitely check out some of their newer stuff live! Also, Metali and Kingslayer (with BTMH together for the 1st time) live were both just released. You are right too about the good message: finding the strength to fight on after falling. And in the MV, specifically against their own inner demons. Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋 Welcome back to the Foxhole, it's been a while. I really hope you can get the chance to see them live once again and enjoy their songs. "Karate" is one of their stronger weapons along with "Road Of Resistance" from 2nd album "Metal Resistance" released in 2016. Is an uplifting song about keep fighting besides the obstacles, and if you take a closer look at the end you'll see in the eyes of their rivals that they're fighting against no other than themselves, i think the body language is even better than translation on lyrics, especially in this song and outstanding MV. Some fans find anime vibes on BabyMetal songs, the only other song I could find with anime vibes besides this one and their recently released new single"Divine Attack - Shingeki", is "Syncopation" another banger. They watched several footage before making this song, one of those were "Karate Kid" old movie, that's why you see MoaMetal catching a bug, that's a reference to the movie, after this she become the bug catcher expert when traveling on live tour lol. The bats and the concrete blocks testing strength is another infamous Karate reference. Btw just in case, the band playing behind in this MV are hired actors, the Kami Band you didn't met yet only play at live concerts. If you enjoy and like this song then another nice recommendation to witness a different and unique version is Karate live at Download Festival 2016, is even more epic with the rain and the crowd singing along with them, trust me. You can find a clip safe to react at "kitsune6001" channel with a short interview in the intro. Next suggestion: - MAYA live at PIA Arena MM 2023 official MV. - Divine Attack Shingeki live at PIA Arena MM official MV. In general always try to aim to live performance with the Kami Band sound, they're a blast, although there are certain songs that worth to watch the official MV for the first time to get to know the meaning a little bit like in this song, Megitsune, Doki Doki Morning and Iine! are also cool. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time. 🦊🤘🔥

They were fighting their own demons. They were themselves behind the masks as we all are. 👹👍

Karate (Babymetal song):- "Karate" is a song by the Japanese 🇯🇵 heavy metal band Babymetal from their second studio album, Metal Resistance. "Karate" also features djent-like riffs and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song @ the 2016 Annual Loudwire Music Awards. Karate explained that the lyrics are about never giving up and always moving forward, no matter what difficulties need to be endured. Furthermore, Karate choreographed described how the dance moves were made to help express the message of the song, as most of the lyrics were in Japanese 🇯🇵. "Karate" •Single by: Babymetal. •Album: Metal Resistance. •Language: Japanese. •Released: February 26, 2016. •Genre: J-pop, nu metal, metalcore. •Length: 4:23. •Label:RAL, Sony Music. •Songwriter: Yuyoyuppe. •Producer: Kobametal. •Yuyoyuppe: (arrangement) Babymetal singles chronology:- •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015). •"Karate"(2016). •"Distortion" (2018). Background and release:- According to Suzuka Nakamoto, "Karate" is reminiscent of the song "Megitsune", which "is popular among international fans. [The song] has not only Babymetal vibes, but also has Japanese elements. Its lyrics portray a strong will to go on, no matter what happens in your life." The song is a nu metal song that contains elements of metalcore. Composed by Yuyoyuppe and arranged under the name Yuppemetal, "Karate" also features djent-like riffs, and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." Kikuchi explained that the lyrics are about never giving up and always moving forward, no matter what difficulties need to be endured. Furthermore, Yui Mizuno described how the dance moves were made to help express the message of the song, as most of the lyrics were in Japanese. Reception:- "Karate" received generally positive reviews from music critics. Lars Gotrich of NPR Music described the song as "catchy and grandiose" praising Nakamoto's vocal performance, comparing her to Evanescence lead vocalist Amy Lee. Jon Hadusek from Consequence of Sound called the song, as well as "From Dusk Till Dawn" essential tracks from the album. While reviewing Metal Resistance, Jordan Bassett of NME praised the song, describing it as "fast and furious until jangling, arpeggiated guitar alters the rhythm." Hartmann praised the song's chorus, calling it "one of the catchiest pieces [Babymetal] has crafted to date." "Karate" peaked at number two on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart on the issue dated March 19, 2016, spending fourteen weeks on the chart. The song debuted at number 24 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, for the week of March 12, 2016. Live performances:- "Karate" premiered at Yokohama Arena on December 12, 2015, during the final dates of the Babymetal World Tour 2015, and was added to the setlist of the Babymetal World Tour 2016, performed on the first tour date at Wembley Arena. The song had its first televised performance at TV Asahi's Music Station on April 22, 2016. The song's choreography contained interpolations of karate moves, as shown in the music video. BABYMETAL WIN FIVE HONORS IN THE 6TH ANNUAL LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS:- Japanese pop-metal sensation Babymetal are one of the 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards’ biggest winners, as their fans voted them to victory in five separate categories. The teen trio and their phenomenal backing musicians have rocketed to the top of the metal world, and in many ways, the worlMd of music. Babymetal’s rabid fanbase filled the Tokyo Dome two nights in a row, so it’s no surprise the band won the Most Devoted Fans award for the second year in a row, this time edging out fellow Japanese act X Japan. Babymetal’s Metal Resistance album proved the group wouldn’t go out as a one hit wonder. It kicks in hard with “Road of Resistance” and keeps moving with anthemic cuts that are criminally catchy. Metal Resistance won Best Metal Album in our latest awards, while “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song. 2016 was Babymetal’s year for touring, playing Wembley early in the year, appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, taking over North America, playing the Tokyo Dome and finally supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers in the UK. For Babymetal’s accomplishments, they’ve been voted Best Live Act. Finally, frontwoman Su-metal claimed victory in our Rock Goddess of the Year category, beating out beloved singers like Amy Lee and Cristina Scabbia. Karate Romaji Lyrics - Seiya sessesse seiya.
