I am not a Christian, nor religious, but I am a believer in God. I was going to skip over this post, but for some reason I did not. I have a perspective that I was not aware of prior.. a new way to think of all the blessings in my life. We just bought this lovely property... never thought of myself as a steward of Any of the beautiful things god has blessed me with... thank you so very much.

As a Christian, it makes me sad to hear that there are those that spread hatred & discord and call themselves Christians. The term Christian means to be Christ-like. Particularly at this moment in time, a Christ-like attitude is most needed. Praying for our nation, our leaders, and our people.

@@karenparra9768 How do you know Carianne Marshall has not accepted Christ? John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in me shall have everlasting life. She claimed to be a believer. Is that not good enough for you? Like Carianne, I also do not claim to be a Christian, and here is the reason why. Christians define being a Christian as Christ like, and what they mean by that is being sinless like Christ. I am not sinless like Christ. A sinner saved by grace is a more accurate description of me. For too many Christians, it's about the appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Be very careful calling someone unclean, who God has declared clean. Go to the book of Acts and study Peters dream, where God showed him unclean animals and told him to eat. But he refused, because they appeared unclean. God warned Peter 3 times, do not call anything unclean that I have declared clean. John 7:24 Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”

I'd like to tell you a story. Awhile back you told the story of a snack and a nap. I've used it with my family, and thank you so much for it. Me 6 yr old Grandaughter came to visit. She's hasn't needed a nap, for quite awhile. But, she came in from playing just sobbing. She asked me if she could have a snack and a nap and another snack when she woke up! We watch your channel together. And she always says, Grandma that's the lady that taught you about snacks and naps. Again, thank you for being you and ssf sharing with us.

Perhaps you don't realize how many messages you are giving even without a 'devotional' video. I found your channel in early summer so this is the first one of these I have seen. However, your love for the Lord has been so apparent in Every video. A few weeks ago you were doing a goat video and began to talk about how you were getting comments about your husband and you said the grass is greener where you water it. That was a message a needed to hear and I have no doubt I was meant to hear that message from you. He may have held off on giving you a video topic but I assure you He is using you to get his message across. I love every one of your videos, your beautiful family, and the bright light of Christ you shine everyday.

Instead, get you a bible that is written in a language you can understand, and find out the facts about who Jesus is. This is all Jesus wants from you, is to get to know who he is! Although raised in the church, I quit going when I became an adult. Up until that time, it had not been my choice--I was forced to attend. That never felt right to me. I had seen so much judgement and condemnation, I'd had enough. Guilt and fear weighed heavy. Your devotionals, and even more, the way you live each day of your life has come to mean so much to me. You explain God in such a loving way--a way that had never before been presented to me in my entire life. I'm developing a whole new view and attitude for One whom I feared, doubted & was angry at. Never doubt that every little thing you say and do holds so much meaning and value, and can so positively change hearts and minds and inspire us. Bless you Jess! You never cease to amaze me.

I hear you. And I feel I'm in a similar space. I've been very cynical about all of this for a very long time. For me, a big part of it has been the way religion & churches & the most vocal among them have treated women... as if God is strictly male... as if only women must be obedient & subservient. I just can't be that and cannot abide with that. And it's not just one religion or sect that does that. I don't need that... and I don't think a loving deity would go along with an ideology like that, which is and has been so hateful to everyone who is different. I can't see myself being part of that. I'd rather just be solitary.
@palecompass3598

@ Having gone to several churches of different sects, I relate to both of you. The judgementalness and hatefulness I experienced in the church was so embittering, I couldn't take it any longer. One day, I just stood up and left. And, I'm so in awe of people who feel as Jess does, that God is loving and good. Because I grew up feeling like God was an abusive father. And I felt just as much loneliness as a Christian as I felt without religion. Now, I'm Buddhist, and my perspectives on a lot of things, including gender and sexism, have changed. I also feel like many languages do religion a disservice.

Joyce Richardson How do you get to know someone? Do you listen to what others say about that person, and then you know them? Or do you spend time with that person to get to know them? You can't go to church and get to know God or Jesus through the gossip about them. Most of the people who attend church just continue to spread things they have heard. Even Pastors continue to spread things they have heard. Get a bible that you can understand the language, and start reading it to get to know who God is, and who Jesus is. Stop listening to the rumors and start studying the facts. While doing this reading you will be spending time with God and Jesus. This is all God wants from you! Is for you to get to know him! Don't believe the gossips and the rumors about God. Instead search for the facts. Go directly to the source.

I am sorry you were so hurt by your church experience in the past. Let me say I have endured some of that and may even have been a source of some of that at one time. However , when you think about church think of finding the family of God that He wants you to be in. We all need guidance, and fellowship. The Holy Bible states that", Where ever 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them.' ( that is God speaking) You will be blessed as you seek to find your place in the body of Christ and as you forgive those who upset you in the past.

As we have stated repeatedly in many of our videos, the MOST dangerous place for any true follower of Yeshua is in "the church." Satan isn't at work in the drug dens. Those things run themselves. His most marvelous masterpiece is "the church." I've learned over the past year or so, while reading a Textus Receptus-derived translation for MYSELF, with the sole guidance of Holy Spirit, that nearly everything I was taught in "the church" was a blatant lie. We have a video up discussing Bible translations..... I strongly urge any true follower of The Most High to check it out, as what I uncovered in my research was shocking! Especially in these times, false prophets abound, spreading their doctrines of devils- as was foretold! If you haven't asked for guidance and discernment from scripture as to how to identify a false prophet, I share a great deal of scripture here- and this barely scratches the surface. We have been warned, but few have eyes to see and ears to hear! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqHal3aXj9WafK8

Oh....our little preacher girl! How God has annointed you for such a time as this Jess! I am a 70 yr. old woman who loves our Lord with many years behind me, in Him. I will tell you honestly that you are an amazing tool FOR HIS GLORY. Your smile and your witness is a beautiful love story and sign of His wonders. The wonderful way He manages to talk to people who would only hear in this way, by you, is like you said proof of His love for us and proof of His amazing works. Thank you dear sister for not only your obedience but for speaking to our hearts and giving us those "light bulb" moments that we need. I have been caregiving to my 94 yr. old Mother for two yr. now and it seems as though it has been 50 yr. Many trials, as she is beginning signs of dementia, not longer the dear Mother I once knew and I have cried out to Him many times to receive her unto Himself for her peace at last. My time with her has been very impatient and I sadly have felt very isolated. Thank you for helping me remember what this time is really all about and bringing me back to solid ground. @duetpartner
@duetpartner 3 жыл бұрын
Sarah O it is our culture that thinks ministry happens in the church. In my humble opinion, the church has drifted away from what is truth. So who is God? Let me ask you this... How do you get to know someone? Do you go somewhere and listen to what others say about them? Those are just rumors, and that is exactly what church is. Want to know who God is? Get a bible written in a language you can understand and start getting to know the truth about God. This is all God wants, is for people to know who he is. Then you can make your own decision to accept him or reject him. What God does not like is all the rumors being told about him that are not true. Because if you really get to know who he is, it will be very hard for you to reject him, because he is so loving and good. This is misrepresented in the church, where rumors and false teachings are being told. Find out who God really is before you reject him. Go directly to the source and quit listening to the rumors.

I know I've said it before, but a relationship with God or without a god is so so personal. I'm grateful you've chosen to be vulnerable enough to share your heart and thoughts. Doing so provides your viewers with an opportunity of insight. I'm so glad you came to the conclusion to not allow the eyes of others weigh your choices in a way to stifle your content and feelings. I know I'm just one person, but your sincerity and openness allows people like me to be comfortable here as I am. You always seem to have a "come as you are" and "you are welcome here" attitude. Again, I'm just a stranger, but I feel as though this is one pathway in which you reach people. So many others PUSH and PUSH onto people. I feel as though you invite people through your passion. I don't feel like it's an expectation for you, though. I have never clicked your content and EXPECTED anything. I don't want any viewers to EXPECT you to act or be a certain way. To put that pressure on you would be unfair. I feel as though you just kind of spew sincerity when you share your challenges, just as you share your success.

The beginning of your video reminded me of this C.S. Lewis quote: “What we want is not more little books about Christianity, but more little books by Christians on other subjects--with their Christianity latent.” Your channel is one of the best examples of this idea I have ever seen. Your faith and God's hand on your life bleeds through in every video, regardless of how blatant (or not) you are about it. I'm an artist and have felt a strong conviction from God not to create just "Christian" art. Even though that's what He wants, my brain struggles with it, because I wonder how God could use a piece of art, that doesn't appear to have anything to do with Him, to further His kingdom. Thank you for the reminder that that part is up to God and all I have to do is be obedient.

I'd like to challenge you to get to know who God is, because he is not who many are saying he is. Get a bible written in a language you can understand, and start getting to know the truth about God. The only thing God wants from you is for you to know who he is!!! Once you learn who God truly is? You will fall in love with him!!! You won't be able to help yourself, because God is that good and that loving. It's not about who you are!!! He wants you to know who he is!!!

Awwww....I’m crying! Such a beautiful story of the power of love and the goodness of God. I had a similar situation in my life - I had three children and I fervently prayed for a baby girl with red hair and green or brown eyes to name Molly Kathleen, and when my next baby was born, there she was! I could NOT believe how specifically He had answered my prayer, and was just overcome with joy and gratitude for His love for me to answer that desire of my heart. Thank you, Jess, for such a moving testimony and wonderful message. I send you and your family love and prayers from Pennsylvania. 💗🥰

It's no coincidence that Papa placed me in a family named Merriam, the Anglicized version of Miriam, as in Miriam of Beit-Anyah (Mary of Bethany). You're speaking into the very same instance of my life when I stopped being Martha and took my place at His feet as Miriam, opening my heart to receive the One Thing Necessary...His unfathomable goodness and incomparable love. That was the moment for me that I intimately knew in my heart of hearts the application, not just the words "Perfect love casts out fear." And it was no coincidence that in the honeymoon of that revelation, He brought you to my attention as everyday I see more and more how our paths meet on this same beautiful journey. "Like oil upon Your feet...like wine for You to drink...like water from my heart, I'll pour my love on You. If praise is like perfume, I'll lavish mine on You til every drop is gone! I'll pour my love on You!" Not because You demand it, but because that's what a laid down lover gives. Love you, girl! Ephesians 3:20

Thank you so much for this Jess! I needed this and I think a lot of others need this as well. It's funny how someone can remind you to just change your perspective on things and let the lord in. And you really have touched a place in my heart that I haven't felt for a long time. I love God but I feel like we have a complicated relationship. the churches I have gone to have only taught shame and not been open with love. Like we had to earn his love, if not we were condemned. I found my passion for gardening this year and found myself closer to God more than ever! Nature is where The Lord is. And this really gave me the greatest feelings and I feel like I can feel the spirit more now. It is hard to remember what all I should be thankful for and really care for those gifts as he had giving us. Like my beautiful little crazy toddler, when I was told it would be difficult to have children. I hope you know how much this has helped and touched me and I'm sure everyone that has watched this!💝🤗😘💞👏💖

"Christian faith".... What is the definition for "Christian faith"? Ask this question and you can get a whole variety of answers. You might have more faith than what you realize? Honestly, in my opinion, I'm not sure that there are Christians who can accurately describe "Christian faith"! Again in my humble opinion, there are many people calling themselves Christians, but don't really know Christ. They believe the rumors about him that they have been told, but never took the time to search the truth about who he is. I would encourage you to search to discover who he is. Don't listen to what others say who he is, but instead read a bible written in a language you can understand to discover who he is. When I did this, I fell in love with him. When the truth about Christ is revealed, I think it can be very hard not to fall in love with him. The problem he has is all the false rumors being spread about him, and yes it is happening in churches. May God bless your journey.

I also feel that your religion and your relationship with God is very intimate and personal and you don't have to prove anything to anyone so you don't have to feel like you are forsaking your religiousness by not posting devotionals. God might have a plan to herd someone back to Him through your gardening videos and the devotionals might have scared them off? Mary Kapla, may I share my humble opinion? And please remember that it is an "opinion!" I honestly believe that what God wants most from us is to simply get to know him better. I've listened to Christians worry and fret over being in God's will, and wanting to make sure that they are where God wants them to be. Remember the story of Jonah? Jonah was not where God wanted him, so he sent a whale to swallow him up and spit him out right where God wanted him. God will place you right where he wants you. Don't ever think you are out of God's will. He will create situations to guide you right where you need to be. God has got it under control for you. Just trust him. Which is easier said than done. Going through a valley, or climbing a mountain is difficult, but hindsight is 20/20. Often times we have to go through things and look back on them before we can understand the why we just went through what we went through. Keep the faith Mary Kapla... May God richly bless your journey.

First of all i choose to believe the Bible at face value always have and now even more so since I can see the prophecy of the Bible being fulfilled everyday now. I feel like it takes more faith not to believe in GOD because of all of HIS Amazing creation all around us. I also believe in CHRIST because of what I feel in my soul & spirit and for the change CHRIST has made in my life as well as many of my family and friends. I guess it all boils down to FAITH! The moments I have received revelation for my family have been the moments I've been doing those "menial" tasks, the dishes, vacuuming, cleaning, etc. I am always reminded of something I heard years ago. Jesus never went to the men, but He always went to the women. The woman at the well, Mary and Martha... He went to them where they were because they were caring for those they were given stewardship over.

Ahhhhh Jess. I am bawling like a baby with a wet diaper😜. Thank you for this. I have watched your gardening videos off and on,love them. But had never caught a devotional. Having struggles with myself the last few years. I have always believed in our Lord,believe every word in the Bible is true. BUT..... I have said many times, that I believe in every miracle. And I believe God is more than able to perform any miracles at any time, anywhere. But, I have always thought that He would perform those miracles for everyone but me. That somehow, out of all the world, I was not in any way worthy to receive his blessings and his miracles. He gave me the beautiful gift of intercession when I first was saved. I didn't even know what intercession was, but I would spend 4 to 5 hours every morning, Reading his word, praying for people, just communing with him. I walked away from that, for my heathen husband, that was horribly abusive to me. I must've thought that I deserved what I got. And that I didn't deserve to have God's love. I still struggle with that. I believe with all my heart that He will perform miracles,that He will heal people, etc. etc. except for me. I pray that I can once again intercede like I once did,and read the Bible like I once did,Feel His tender heart like I once did. Jess,don't ever stop these devotionals. God bless you and your family. Bless your farm too!

Just getting to the beginning, but I feel many women who love God are in this struggle. We've been told that the big platform is best, but our ministry is at home first. Look how many more people you're reaching! I thank the Lord for your obedience because it has ministered to me and set me free from SO much condemnation.

John 3:17 New International Version 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Please understand this. Any condemnation is not from God!!! Condemnation comes from God's enemies. Even if the condemnation comes from a church, or a Christian? This is not from God. There are many Christians who would condemn Abraham, Moses, and King David. They were polygamists. They each had more than one wife. Which means they were also adulterers. These men were declared righteous because of their faith, not because of their lifestyle. 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” People look at appearances and condemn. This is not from God. God looks at the heart. Many would condemn Abraham, Moses, and King David. But God looks at their heart, not their lifestyle. I hope this is helpful. May God bless you.

Thanks so much Jess! I hot into a 'legalism group' and I'm so grateful God delivered from that. It is VERY hard to look at yourself and see a Pharasee. But He helps pick you back up and shows you scriptures that heal you. Galatians was such a help to me, that when I would hear something that was legalism I would say, "Oh you foolish Galatians!!" The Love of Jesus envelopes you and shines to others through you. ♥️ y'all.
