I have the previous model of these (purchased after seeing the LTT review) and one of the things not covered in either review is the delay when using the plug-n-wireless feature. It doesn't really affect music playback, but these headphones are NOT suitable for watching videos or really any kind of gaming. There is about a 200ms delay which is quite noticeable. It is worse that just using the regular bluetooth mode

Regular bluetooth mode is fine for video because the delay can be measured and then you can synchronize it with the video. Obviously there is no way to tell the source to wait with the video playback through the 3.5mm audio jack, so you'll hear all the delay.

@@yeejay6396 Nah they are super janky. A very common problem is they just stop being able to ever start doing plug and wireless regardless of device you are using until you do a strange disconnect and factory reset sequence. The problem is 100% in software. They are very VERY cool in principle. The execution on all of their previous models that have this feature have been very poorly executed sadly. It's possible they have fixed it in the new model, but given how frequent the problem is over a range of other headphone models I honestly doubt they have. Also (despite what they say) plug and wireless shouldn't have any compatibility problems. You cant have compatibility issues with a headphone jack signal. They arent interfacing with any software outside of the case and headphones. They are receiving a signal which is universal - otherwise 3.5mm headphones would have had compatibility issues outside of "does it have a headphone jack." The issue is somewhere between the case, the buds and most likely the software on both.

I think those disclaimers are great. you can see that they were written by the legal team - in some of them they even downplay their own product like when James said that without ANC they can last even 10hours and the disclaimer shown that its a little bit above 9hs. they just want to present the product in a good honest detailed way. as a person who uses a lot of footnotes in my academic works I absolutely understand that

Also additionally, you could still argue at them using a cheap ass glue or improper assembling. If these still don't work, send an email to the ceo, generally these would solve immediately if u happened to be luckily ready by the ceo themselves, If not could be their PA's reading and following protocol.

I've got the FP9 for a few months now, they're quite good overall! However LG has sponsored most of the videos I've seen and the reviews are way too positive and nice to these buds... So I'll leave my grain of salt here in case you're planing to buy these, really try to research if they've fixed these: -The case is big and waaay less "pocketable" than you'd think and the cover already has a bit of a wobble, so I'm having some concerns about its durability. If size is important to you go to their website and check the dimensions, don't trust what you hear on the videos. -The UV only works when the case is plugged to a power source. This turned out to be a bit of a let down when my GF got an ear infection a few weeks ago, we went to a concert and I lend her my buds so the noise canceling would ease a bit the loudness of the music, I thought I'd be safe thanks to the UV feature... But I ended up getting the same infection myself because I used them without being plugged in. Bummer! -The touch controls are customizable up to one, two or triple touch, the hold function is locked and cannot be customized... It's either transparency or noise cancel, if you want to turn it off you have to grab your phone and do it in the app. -I'm using my buds on natural mode always, any other mode sounds off and un-natural... Even the Bass boost is a bit of a letdown. Overall im happy with the buy and can recommend them, but if I knew the cons probably I'd had gotten the Google Pros. Cheers!!

i've had a set since the beginning of the year when I got my first none 3.5mm phone. Oooo, new LG Tone Frees! I've been pretty happy with my FN4s thus far - but, I've gotta admit, the assembly adhesive failed in my right side bud and it fell apart in 2 pieces(its assembled in two halves with contact pads inside, so nothing actually broken like a wire or anything). Cleaned up the edges & superglued it back together, and they've been utterly problem free ever since, I've been pleased with them. They aren't perfect, they don't always consistently pair with my phone(which is also an LG, still rockin a V60 since there still isn't a real replacement for them on the market - even have the dual screen case, that's right boys!), and on the rare occasion I'll have a dead bud that should've been fully charging but the pogo contacts weren't making a good enough contact to change when I 'tossed' the buds in the case(they're magnetic and the case aligns them itself pretty well, but I suspect the problem is still just a slight misalignment, so just givem a quick press with your thumb to seat them and it shouldn't be a problem). Overall, they just feel & function like they're a well designed, polished(even if not on the Apple level) product, regardless of the flaws. Previous experience with other LG electronics suggests that my adhesive failure was likely just a rare manufacturing defect rather than a quality problem, their products have been pretty bulletproof for me otherwise. There's been a LOT of interesting earbuds to come into the, say, sub-$250 market since I picked up my FNs, but I'm definitely gonna have to consider these.

Ooo the case acting as a Bluetooth beacon is amazing. I wonder if there is going to be a little ‘dodat’ to let the case connect to ps5 controllers and plug in. Also a much much more realistic test to see if they will stay in is to chew food while you have them on

I always forget y'all are from Vancouver until I hear someone casually reference the SkyTrain... Anyway, really appreciate the video. My current pair of true wireless buds started dying in one ear so I think this will be my next pair, love how easy they'd be to use with a PS5 as well.

So what's the world's first, because it's not the case plugging into the audio jack and passing the signal through to the headphones. There are other headphones that do that already.

You should critique the audio quality and compare them to good IEMs that are wireless. I want to know how they sound like. They are audio devices, it should be a no-brainer to do it. I would say 80$ Moondrop Aria with 80$ wireless adapters should be the standard audio comparison here. Obviously none of the name brand stuff will come close, but it's a good comparison. Besides you can get the 7Hz Zero and slap the wireless adapter on and have beaten 99% of all wireless IEMs for 100$.

Haven’t checked out this product myself but in the airplane situation that was outline wouldn’t you only get one channel with only one jack? I remember getting the Sony WH 1000 XM3 and a year later my gf got the 4 and both came with a two prong audio jacks for airplanes because the audio jacks on airplanes needed a jack for both the left and right sides of the headphones.

I had one of the LG Tone free line up (forgot which one). I loved them, but sometimes when a call entered the earphones made a really loud sound. It's a bit like a mic got close to it or something. Anyway, it hurt my ears so I had to return them.

Been waiting a few weeks for this video to pop up, loved the previous gen buds FP8? The ones without the aux cable feature. Not sure if these are worth the $200-$230 price tag but I just returned Sony's flagship buds because they were super uncomfortable and those are like $260

I tried their LG Tone FP9s and their noise cancelling was complete GARBAGE. Hopefully they improved it with this new model but I doubt it considering they didn't make it a talking point. got the 1more EVOs and theyre amazing.

I have the same pair and almost never use the noise canceling. However I bought them for their comfort and battery life which I was not disappointed by. I’ve been using them to sleep for over a month now and it’s so nice. The 3.5mm jack with the case has quite a lot of latency though. Not great for my 3DS.

Can confirm, I've got te FP8 (same model but with wirelesses charging case instead of 3.5mm to usb-c bt function). Noise cancelling is like it's just not there, completely useless and unacceptable in this price range. One redeeming fature is the battery life and comfort
@sasropakis
@sasropakis Жыл бұрын
I agree regarding the noise cancelling (FP8). To make things worse there's some background noise, a bit like chirping, when the ANC is on and you can't turn the ANC off by using the touch controls. You have to open the app (not so handy if you are connected to PC or TV) to activate the normal mode because long press just switches between ANC and transparency. Looks like it's the same thing with the new model.
