Im 15, and trying my hardest to keep my little sisters safe from the bullshit that is this platform. They all range from 3-9 years old. My nine year old is VERY into gacha life, and i happen to be very knowledgeable on the thing that we call “heat”. No im not into it, its gross stuff. I really don’t want her to see this kind of stuff and the gross things that people use this game for, if you can even call it a game, i think its a cheat to art (as an artist im weirdly offended by it). Because im the oldest of my siblings, i had no one to teach me the boundaries of what exists on this platform. I started watching youtube when I was between 7-10 years old, but I can’t quite remember. In short, i was exposed to a lot of many immature things that continue to ruin my view of the internet and life as a whole. I have been able to teach myself boundaries and online safety, but I will say that I am still learning through experience (as in i recently got banned from my favorite twitch chat for talking shit about a cancel drama on twitter a while back and im still heartbroken). However I beat myself up a lot for causing this kind of harm to myself through poor decisions, and try to pride myself in having the level of maturity I do compared to a lot of other kids on the internet my age. I see myself as a very mature individual. Many people online have referred to me as that rare occurrence of an actually intelligent internet kid. As such, for 2 years i have tried to grow myself as a creator, in order to not only spread awareness of the shit that goes down on the internet, as well as provide people with a safe and nontoxic environment, but to be a good influence for my little sisters. I failed them when it came to teaching them good behavior at home since i was young and fully immature (my adhd ass also ruined them none of them have been diagnosed but i can tell they picked up my bad behaviors) and I want to at least teach them good habits to keep them safe as they start to become familiar with the online universe. This place is so dark and dangerous, and i learned this the hard way. I dont want them to have to learn the same way.
