I was surprised you didn't include Reggie Miller in here - one of the most famous cases. He was born with hip deformities, which prevented him from walking correctly. After a few years of continuously wearing braces on both legs, his leg strength grew enough to compensate.

I think Andy missed the elephant in the room with Magic Johnson having come back after contracting HIV. I'm pretty sure Pistol Pete Maravich had a heart condition the whole time he played but didn't know about it and died from it in a pick up game after retiring.

It is really sad that the great pistol pete is not mentioned here. The man played without the left coronary artery which is one of the most important artery that gives blood to the heart. Autism is extremely underdiagnosed in black communities (also generally underdiagnosed in most countries in former Yugoslavia, and it's a hotbed of talent), chances are at least one autistic guy has already played in the NBA, he just didn't know it And also don't forget how stigmatised autism can be in some environments, specifically athletic environments, so the chances that an autistic guy has already played in the NBA but WE didn't know it because he kept his diagnosis private are also pretty high

I'm surprised that you didn't include nor mentioned "Pistol" Pete Maravich who had a disability that he had one lung while playing his entire 10 years in his NBA Hall of Fame career. If you watched at the end of Sports Century: Pete Maravich, the show revealed that shortly after his sudden death at 40 that Maravich had one lung on his autopsy.

Heart arrhythmia isn’t typically a life threatening issue and is actually relatively common amongst the population. I, for one, have heart arrhythmia. You don’t need a heart transplant because of it
