I think player movement is a good thing, but I don’t like when players demand a trade like one year into a 4 or 5 year contract. Obviously there are some circumstances that can change that, but in general don’t sign a long-term contract if you are going to stick around the second something gets tough. Like I appreciate the LeBron route of signing 1-2 year deals in his second Cavs tenure

I am totally fine with players being able to demand trades and move around as much as they do. I think the bigger issue is not having a hard cap. Makes the game unfair. Part of the reason Golden State was able to be a dynasty is cause they could pay the luxury tax. The cap should also be raised significantly, all these leagues have so much money

Dame got on his soap box about not ring chasing and moving blah, blah, blah…. He wanted that bag all along. Now that media is all on his side about moving he gets to demand trade without honoring his contract. This request is same as KD, James Harden. He had his chance to sign with another team. He knew how it would go staying in Portland. Players should be required to complete 75% of the super max contracts before they can be traded. No praise for Dame here.
@chrishosey7535 Жыл бұрын
Wrong, he genuinely wanted to win in Portland. If he just wanted the bag, he would've left in 2022
@katm818 Жыл бұрын
@@chrishosey7535 if that is true then why is he asking for a trade? The team had zero chance of winning in 2022 and was not even close. It was not like they just needed one piece to fix the team. They were always rebuilding and years away from competing. He wanted the bag more. I am not hating on that but don’t try and criticize others for chasing the ring, accept all the praise for wanting to win with team that drafted you and then turn around and do the same as the ring chasers.
@chrishosey7535 Жыл бұрын
@@katm818 Because Dame tried trusting them in free agency. He's literally done this every year since 2016. Dame gave this franchise 8 years, nearly a decade of prime years to get him some help.
