I’d honestly watch a 2 hour video of him ripping around LA on a fast ebike. The longer ride videos he does testing the range of bikes are my favourite.

Both these bikes are pretty sweet. The CVT is something I have not experienced before. That's cool. I see cargo bikes most often parked at the Trader Joe's, so the niche they serve is pretty clear. Also, if you've got little ones to haul around, either of these look to be reliable solutions. Thanks for the review.

Pretty cool to see scooter engine transmission making its way to ebikes.

Hey Matt, it was nice to unexpectedly meet you over the weekend! Those cargo bikes are awesome replacements for cars and a lot of fun for kids. I often use one from another brand locally with my kids. Unfortunately, they’re a bit too long, which makes it hard to take them to the beach for cruising unless you live close enough to ride there.

Mid-drives really aren't very more efficient. The problem is bicycles generally do not have an under-drive gear, plus they usually have large wheels. All of the gearing is in the motor and this is true on both the hub and mid drive models. The only real exception is mountain bikes. Most mountain bikes have under-drive gearing. Like 1st and 2nd are usually under-drive. But once you reach 3rd, you're in direct drive and by 8th, you're like 4 or 5 to 1 overdrive. Add in a large wheel and you are look at a lot of feet of travel per revolution of the pedal. If you have a 29er (or 700c) bike, a 4 to 1 ratio will move you 364 inches. That's 30 feet 4 inches per revolution of the pedals. But if you have an 28 to 36 under-drive, you are at a .72 under-drive. With a 29er or 700c (they're both the same), one rotation of the pedals will only take you 65 inches(29*pi*ratio) or a 5 foot 5 inches.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Regarding mid-drive efficiency, these motors actually work more efficiently because they leverage the bike's gearing system. This means the motor can provide optimal power by shifting to the appropriate gear, especially during climbs or under heavy loads. Unlike hub motors, which are locked into a fixed gear ratio, mid-drives can adjust to different terrains, allowing for better energy use in various conditions.

@@Letrigo Electric motors like running low torque high speed. The bikes gearing system is all overdrive unless it is a mountain bike.

The lights are neat, but I'd rather just have regular turn signals on the front since I don't think having lights on the side of the frame is really going to tell anyone anything.

Maybe better at night time...
@Letrigo28 күн бұрын
We’ve equipped our bikes with turn signals, and the side light strips not only add to the aesthetic but also provide clear visibility at night, ensuring others can see you and avoid collisions.

Question, in other reviews of e-bikes with this Mid-drives they seem to be programmed to disable the throttle when coming to a stop, requiring a few strokes of the pedals to reengage the throttle. How is the Mid-drives programmed?
@Letrigo28 күн бұрын
Typically, when you stop, the brake will cut off the power, our bikes don't require a few more strokes of the pedals to reengage the throttle, the mid motors just start working immediately when you push the trottle and let go the brake levers

With a whopping 30mm front fork travel for only 2000$! My mid drive bbs02 750w is at 1400$ with a 25 amp samsung battery, 180mm hydraulic shimanos/sram rotors, XCM 30 100mm travel fork. 70lbs, big removeable suspended cargo rack, full suspension steel frame, trailer hitch etc. Why anyone buys these china bikes is beyond me. Tektro is good tho.
