These new cast boons feel SO good. | Hades 2

For the pause thing I have seen one video where a person with tremor said that it is an accessibility issue. If their hand starts shaking or looses grip they need to be able to stop the game until it goes away. It would be fine once, but it happens until you manage to disable it and to turn it off you need to have beeten Chronos multiple times for the needed incantation material which sucks if long fights (such as your first few wins against him probably are) trigger it. The suggestion was to just have it in the accessibility options to turn it off.

That definitely sounds like the best option, yeah. You aren't really missing much by turning it off, but it being in the game is cool and the sort of thing that makes people go "you won't believe what happened in my game last night" at work or school.

What makes Born Gain so powerful to me is the fact that you can just use an Omega Move with no magic and not even think about it. Every other Gain boon has a gameplay consideration attached to it, where Born Gain just has none. The magic priming resets rvery chamber so its a non drawback. Apollo needs you to stand in a cast as it expires, Poseidon and Zeus want you to stop what you are doing and go to the Bubbles/Font, Aphro wants you to kill the weak enemy last so you can have the gain the entire encounter. With Hera its just press button, receive bankai.

About the chronos pause thing. They can just open up a dialouge box instead. So the game isnt paused. But its also technically paused. Best of both worlds

The only Nemesis thing I really have an issue with is sometimes scaring off Echo. Feels like an odd mechanic to have, especially for how rare it is (which ironically makes it feel even worse when it does actually happen).

My first time finding out about the Chronos pause thing, I paused to grab a drink and came back to it unpaused. I thought it was user error, so I paused again. Then I heard Chronos taunt me, unpause, and continue. Personally, I found that extremely exciting and funny. I loved it. Though I think some warning, even vague, would be good for players.

The idea is fun(ny), but HAVING to go do something, and coming back to a game over screen is not my idea of fun. I bricked my first proper chronos attempt because someone was at the door. Pausing a game is such basic functionality, it's beyond stupid not to allow me to do it.

I think the shock is that you could pause up until the Chronos fight, and all of a sudden you can't. It took me by surprise because I was called away to help with something, came back to a lost run. That said, they are the Titan of Time, and to deny my power to pause IS very funny. Having an accessibility option wouldn't hurt though (though it would be a spoiler).

A similar thing happened to me in the Chronos fight. I did not have a win against him at the time, but it was not the first time I fought him. My pregnant wife was in bed and I was playing in my office. It was like 3AM. She called my name and I paused but he didn't let me. I was shocked and I shouted for her to wait. It was a little stressful, but I Ioved the idea. I lost either way because I was absorbing what just happened. And she was fine, it wasn't an emergency or anything.

Selene is quite good and maybe even worth building around, but only for low fear. lunar ray for instance can have rare upgrade where your attack boon applies to the ray. it is bonkers. with something like epic apollo everything just melts. I could not even see what is final damage, because nothing has amount of hp to sponge it without dying or doing phase transition.

Did aphro get buffed a lot, despite not needing it? Her gain boom curses everything, weak reduces damage by 30%. Her shameless boom just gives a flat extra 20% damage with the possibility of 40%. It’s just flat out superior the Apollo copy. Her legendary just vents, dazes, freezes, and blitz everything around you. Guaranteeing origination.

Appolo is still better because of his Extra hit boon makes all attacks have 10%-20% double attack.. His legendary is S-tier. His daze has boon where if you backstab enemy, it does 100% damage which is practically broken when you consider that his sprint or his cast both apply daze for high rarity.. He has perfect image which is free damage for not getting hit and many people run fear where you cannot heal, so free damage. Both his attacks are great room clears. His old cast boon is still one of the best support cast damage choices. If anything, Aphro is the worse Appolo. Aphrodites main niche is defensive bonuses which... in practice don't really matter on high fear/if the player is good. Her real niche is legendary boon that allows you to apply Blitz without picking Zeus. So in some sense, You get 5 gods while picking 4 gods if that makes any sense.

Born Gain even at common is still essentially infinite magic once you get around 120+ max magic, which happens naturally most runs. It scales exponentially with max magic.

I dont mind nemesis' charactery she is really great once you invest in her. I despise her blocking all my attacks and projectiles and thereby stealing my kills. I dont like the pause gimmick, the first time I had a great shot at chronos (4 revives and at least 1500 dps) I had to pause and look after my dog who threw up. Came back to about 30 hp and no more revives. Its a good idea, but I hate it in practice.

You can alt+tab to pause it. Also I don't think not letting you pause for one fight is bad especially since you can remove it later. Also I would dislike it if something similar happened to me but I wouldn't blame the game or developer for it. I would just blame the situation that something like this happened.

You have to try Aphro Legendary with her mana regen boon ! I had this build yersterday and it's so funny to see all the curse pop up on screen xD And btw, the curse Vent from hephy is applied too, which is just free damage.

honestly I think rapture ring does a bit better with the legendary because it helps you reapply the bonus curses more often (glamour gain makes it harder as weak doesn't expire easily). But it's still super fun no matter what you use.

Personally I like the new Glamour Gain and Hearth Gain! Both feel a lot better and more tailored to the builds that you would want to use each goddess with, plus it's nice to have a few magick boons that are good that aren't Born Gain

Born gain definitely needs to be reworked. Even if they changed it to 20% of your max magic, you still get effectively 5x magic. They could go higher but then it wouldn't be balanced for boss fights

Ionic gain is better born gain. you get full mana every 10 second with no downside. Zeus is the god you pick if you want infinity mana now. Hera is now mostly for her cast. her cast is kinda bonker now. I literally just pick Hera as my god just to use her cast because it clears rooms so fast.

hey haelian could you try making a max hp build with aphro, demeter duo? Ive been trying but I simply cant get the forage boon from demeter early on and with the new upgrade with max hp from ash I think you can reach some crazy numbers if you get some lucky chaos boons. Could be a fun video like the golden rule one :)

I've been doing runs using heroic Engagement Ring from hera, it clears entire rooms on its own and the end screen doesn't show it or cast damage at all. I "do more damage" with specials while basically never using them.

Hades should interrupt your pause the first time you fight him, but if you pause 2 more times he “gives in” and you can pause like normal from then on. Of course, he’s still going to talk shit about you while you’re doing it. Doing it this way keeps the surprise but isn’t punishing for somebody who doesn’t play a lot.
