Minisforum also announced UH185 Ultra, which is an upgraded Intel chip version of UM780 XTX. Has oculink for GPU flexibility. also 45+W power consumption! I prefer that over the HX200 in this video.

At this rate it is only a matter of time we see an Ultra 9 + rtx 4090 combo in a mini PC. The thought of its cost is as scary as its performance.

I am really curious about the pricing of the Asus NUC PC. On one hand Asus always charges more for the "ROG" branded products, but there is actually already stuff at competitive prices in the "Gaming mini PC" segment, and Asus is just entering on that market. Anyway, I would expect this ROG NUC to be similarly priced as Gaming laptops with similar specs. On one hand it is a "premium brand" but on the other hand hardware inside is same as what you can find inside a laptop but it lacks Monitor, Keyboard, mice and battery. If it is priced correctly, then it may be a good choice, as for me personally the only flaw of this device seems to be lack of rear audio jacks, so in order to connect 5.1 or 7.1 speakers you need some external USB audio card/adapter.

Check out the mini itx form factor, you’ve got cases like the fractal ridge that can fit a 4090 FE in there and still house a 7800x3d cpu meaning no compromise max performance for gaming. I used to use that case with my 3090 but ended up getting a test bench (bc1 mini) as I change parts every now and again

Can't wait to see the reviews on these. I would love to see these compared to an equivilant laptop in regards to performance and portability factor. Say a Lenovo Legion 7i or even ROGs Zephrus with a 4070 or 4060. Laptops supply the screen, but nowadays screens are all around us. From TV screens to desktop screens (maybe even older laptop screens using spacedesk). Can these mini gaming PCs totally replace the gaming laptop?

You can fit a 4070 in a 5L case, I have a 4070 FE in a Velka 5.

@@hwi7114 I wish I could use that, but I intend on using it in my living room, so it'll need to be able to lay horizontally without suffocating the GPU or CPU. For that reason I had the Lazer3D HT5 in mind.

Daily an i7 Beast Canyon NUC with a 4070 stuffed into it so fascinated with that ROG. Assumption is though the Beast canyon has a desktop class CPU/GPU the ROG unit may close that gap via faster CPU/ram. Would love to compare pricing between a previous gen Intel NUC with a 4070 card and this ROG as the premium for compact form factors should be coming down. I'd also imagine the power from wall plug on the ROG would be a good deal lower. We sure live in fascinating times.

You will got laptop 4070 performance in price 300 dollar higher than laptop with 4070 itself minus display keyboard and touchpad. Amazing deal. If they will also put some lower wattage under 100 watt then it will be nobrainer for nobrainers

Bro i want you to make a video on overclocking amd igpu and ram from advanced bios options in laptop. Today i was able to unlock the locked advanced bios settings in my Lenovo Thinkbook 15 ryzen 3 5300u. There are all sorts of settings for oc and ram speeds etc.

Are they working well with nvidia graphics cards? As of now my next PC will be AMD only because i want to use ChimeraOS (SteamOS) without problems, but i hope my machine will last some more years.

Not sure about SteamOS, but my main PC has PopOS and I’ve had no issues using my Nvidia card on Linux. Game compatibility seems to be the same as on my Steam Deck.

​@@lieathieit comes down to cost at the end of the day,you see how all these mini pcs only max out at a rtx 4070? Because buying rtx 4080/4090 dies from nvidia is expensive, these chinese mini pc companies aren't gonna deck out money to buy top of the end dies from nvidia and have them sit on their inventory hoping someone will buy it. They are already operating on thin margins so it makes sense but if this happens,i would be the one to buy it! I don't think tdp is an issue too,rtx 4090 only consume 40-50W more than RTX 4070 mobile so a couple more heatpipes should do the job and not to mention we have 2 inch laptops cooling that thing. Personally i think it would be awesome,an RTX 4090 mobile with max tdp is around desktop RTX 3090 levles in rasterization I can't even imagine a pc smaller than a xbox series S that is more powerful than a desktop rtx 3090 holy.

Why don't try to build a mini gaming pc by deshrouding and using blower (centrifugal) fans just like Mac Studio fans. And for power supply you could try external GaN AC Adapters.
