I reviewed some new updated map screen mods for The Sims 4 which make the game more realistic looking!

Please clearly label what videos are only about mods and what's really in the game. You could easily title it like "Mod Review: these new sims 4 map screens are stunning and I'm so happy", then no one is getting confused.

@@coffins_and_coffee not everyone assumes it's a modder. And the emotional investment came with him showing how cool it was. Just to find out it wasn't anything official was unfortunate. It's not a big deal, but it is misleading. And it's okay to call out content creators for misleading titles.

this made me realize just how i miss the overview of the whole town from ts3...realistic maps really make it feel whole instead of patchwork of lots, even though you still need to pass through a loading screen to visit a neighbor's house

My legacy family lives in the "grassy" area of Oasis Springs, and recently I found out that if you change the terrain on the lot (I added a pond), it becomes the only green lot on the map, and it's so ugly I cannot even describe it :D So I ended up deleting the pond because it bothered me so much. I rarely use mods because they behave irritatingly in my game, but this person made an icredible job

This mod is very "safe" it just replace images. It wont mess up your game or anything like that.

@@ShayShayChardonnay for me it was the only explanation, because deleting the pond fixed it. I suppose the game just uses default terrain image if you don't change the lot too much, but if you do, it just can't figure it out right, so it copies exactly what you have

yep, i have these replacements too, they make a huge difference imo. it makes everything seem more put together and makes me want to play and visit different areas.

These are the maps I use in my game. 😊 It sounds like a small change, but they're actually so inspiring. Made me want to play the game again, because the worlds look full of life, and not just like empty shells Also, he actually has every world done except for San Sequoia. I saw on Twitter that he's working on that map right now!

Modders offer such good quality, it's rare that I'm *surprised* when seeing something new, but wow these maps made me audibly say, "Wow!" I've been on a bit of a hiatus from work but you're right - these also make me want to load up the game and build. Honestly, everything could use a refresh at this point lol

You need to look at the occult mods by Spinning Plumbobs. There’s a fairies and witches mod, a mod that expands mermaids, and a pre-werewolves DLC werewolves mod that’s still being supported and they have soooo much depth to them

I just downloaded this mod yesterday. 20thcenturyplumbob is an artist with their work and I love it when you do mod reviews. I enjoy seeing what mods different simmers use in their games. And I agree with the consensus that the modding community have been on their "game" as of late.

I was so upset when I found out that newcrest had buildings in it, as I genuinely thought it was a blank canvas. I had usually been put off making my own world but wanted to make a more medieval/feudal system so I've got scrawny peasant houses and then a random posh American one dotted around and it looks so weird.

i installed these maps just now and for the first time i was able to see what is happening in sims4 worlds. i never wanted to travel in game, because i kind of got lost in maps, but now i want to visit every world. thanks, Satch, for showing this mod creator and their' maps

I use these map replacements and I get startled when I remove them after a patch. These replacements by 20th century plumbob + mizoreyuki's no map lot outlines are a combo I cannot play without.

I love the real-estate mod! I play with MC commands so most houses are full and I feel bad just evicting sims and taking their house😆. Now I can just buy it off them, it's so satisfying when you get it cheaper than it is.

It's so hard to believe that the way each neighborhood is arranged on the maps is actually quite accurate to how it is in game. It's just the vague landscape in the original maps that makes the orientation of everything feel wrong.

I actually appreciate that you only do mod reviews once they are free because it's already hard enough to buy the packs, I don't want to pay for custom content. The one time I paid to access someone's patreon for cc, I forgot to cancel the next month and ended up paying for like 4 months before I noticed. I have made my own custom content using the Sims 4 Studio. Most of the stuff I make is just for me, but I am creating Spirited Away cc that I want to release. I know it's not a full blow script mod, but I would never charge anyone money for my creations. So far, I have made 14 cc objects/CAS items for my Spirited Away Bathhouse, and I'm still not done.

I remember getting the Sims 4 the day it came out and loading it up to see the sorry excuse for the maps. After going right from sims 3 it felt really jarring and I remember a huge wave of disappointment. All the waiting and it looks like this? Glad the map is better and can be better now but sadly that wasn't the last time the sims 4 made me feel that way 😂

I think sims 4 came out when minimalism in design was at its peak. I also think they mightve wanted it to be easily transferrable to mobile ports. Idk, just alot of bad decisions for the fans went into the creation of sims 4, and alot of 'good' decisions in terms of making the company money. It makes sense now why we have multiple sims competitors to be released soon. People are passionate about these types of games and when one fails to bring that passion, others will matters into their own hands

I've been using this guy's maps for a long time now. he actually completed the maps (til Cooperdale) awhile back. But EA decided to break it. So that's why he's doing an Overhaul for those maps. Yes, I fully acknowledge that it's EA's fault that (some of) those gorgeous maps are broken now. They really should make their game compatible with mods/CC, and not the other way around. Those CC creators and modders are saving this God forsaken game.
