Yes Jenny, do a comparison video tween the Faber Castel black edition, the Gold Faber & the Polychromos!

I love the tins just for notalgic reasons i guess but the idea of being able to spread all the colors out of the cardboard box sounds amazing. Wish u had shown us that spread!

I agree Jenny, having the label on the black background on actual pencil be so clear in white is a big bonus even tho they don'r label rhe color names on them. I hav noticed the Prismacolor pencil labels have been faded or 1/2 rubbed off wen I hav bought them individually most recently. And they r in silver i think. Ucckk

These are really nice pencils but I find Faber-Castell's attitude to anything but it's top lines to be curious. Why no color names on the pencils? They have an in-house coloring system so they do actually have color names, you just have to go and download their color list. They did this with the Classic and Goldfaber lines as well. I also don't love the triangle shape of the pencil. Makes sharpening awkward. Makes storage a little clumsy as well. Now, as you said, "They're marketed for kids and it's easier to hold." I find that curious because Crayola, which specializes in children's art products for 139 years has round pencils, crayons, markers. So if the leading educational art supplier doesn't feel like kids need triangle shaped pencils... I also found, as you pointed out, the fact that I couldn't buy a complete set. I had to buy the 100, which isn't really marketed in the US, and then get a skin set at my local hobby store. Ends up most of the skin colors are already in the 100 set, just the colors above 800 and there's a handful of those. There is a neon/pastel 12 set but I think those are already included. I wish Faber-Castell would give more love to Goldfaber and Black Edition.

The lines that are not manufactured here in Brazil do not have color names, as sw has made it traditional for hexagonal or red line pencils to have the names of their colors marked on the body in three languages, as this is the school line. Black Edition whose name here is SuperSoft you have a special number on the body of the pencil that indicates which color the box comes from and starts with 7 to differentiate it from the others.and this happens with other products manufactured here in Brazil such as felt-tip markers, permanent pens, ballpoint pens and so on. They have specificities for each market and the pencils that are imported for Crayola and other brands are manufactured in São Carlos and Prata, which are cities in the interior of the country.

@@debonidaniel Interesting info about pencils and markers produced in Brazil. Thank you.

120 colors are manufactured, all of them in the two Faber-Castell factories in Brazil. What happens is that 6 metallic colors and the leather colors do not come in the box of 100 colors. Recently, a case made of brushed steel with all the 120 colors. It costs around 75 dollars and is a limited edition. There are also 6 boxes with palettes based on warm, cool, neutral colors, skin tones, metallics and one that has 6 pastel colors and 6 neon colors.

@@vishneva2000It is a company that, despite not being Brazilian, is part of our national identity because it has been here for more than 120 years. They manufacture everything here. However, these materials manufactured here are almost entirely consumed here and with some exceptions.

@@JennysCrayonCollectionthey have been available here in Brazil since 2017. However, their availability ranges from blisters with 4 colors to a brushed steel can that has 120 colors and costs around 420 reais (72 US dollars).These pencils were developed in consultation with art teachers from elementary schools and with children aged 6 to 18 years old and the colors of the basic boxes differ from conventional colors, as it is not normal for aqua green and apple green to come in boxes of 12 colors here. In Europe, the colors of the basic boxes also change because they respect the demands of each country. However, the pencils are triangular while for the Latin American market they are round and have also have color code that starts with the number 7 and it was also the first line to have themed boxes in tones such as warm, cold, neutral, metallic, neon/pastel and skin tones.

I hav to say I don't love the title label on the tin "Black Edition" . I hate that lettering & the way it is colored-pretty much everything bout that label is unappealing to me. But I get their target audience for these might be more kids?

It is soo annoying how complicated they make their label ststem. 701-800 instead of all 700's? Makes no sense.. Also the color order they deliver them in in the tin, Y don't they just # them in that order?
@debonidaniel4 күн бұрын
They are numbered like this to differentiate themselves from pencils from the brand's other lines and also for you to reference within the brand's 6 themed boxes. From 701 to 712 are the colors that come in the box, from 12,713 to 724 are the ones that come in the box. 24 and so on. The final colors of the 700 and the first of the 800 are skin colors, metallics, neons and pastels.

Jenny, omg yor tin already has a dent in it @ the top! U just unwraped the plastic off these. For paying that much, don't u want to send it back? If u just unwrapped the box how did u try some if the pencils already?
