Its not that simple. Asians particularly Korens have a monopoly on the industry. They won't sell to Blacks at all or unless you're buying each product in bulk, much more than the average shop would need. The whole purpose of joining this group was to get access to the manufacturers that made the products. He was supposed to be a middle man and purchase through his accounts and supply the products he has access to to all his stores until the individual beauty supplies could create their own accounts with the manufacturers. This man has supposedly been doing this for 20 years and has his own beauty supply stores.
