Losing is fine. But the lack of culture and professionalism is a problem. The Cavs and Thunder were young and bad but the players weren’t doing stuff like this and the orgs provided more structure then what the Rockets are doing rn

All I gotta say is Jalen Green needs a Veteran to learn from. I’m a Cavs fan and once Ricky Rubio teamed up with Darius Garland he became an All Star just saying 🤷🏽‍♂️ like the talent is there he just needs a mentor rn. Highly believe Green will be an All Star in the future but figuring it out ASAP should definitely be the key.

Hold up fam. It’s mentality too. DG did not have Jalen Green’s mentality even before Rubio got there. DG coming from a household with an NBA father did a lot for him in that instance. Man was not posting his fits after getting blown out. That’s a different mentality, Wall and Gordon were vets trying to tell them boys stuff they just don’t want to listen
@Rhude_tiller
@Rhude_tiller Жыл бұрын
@@darrellwilliams9168 yeah a lot of things could be a factor like you said but DG being rated the worst player in his Rookie/Sophomore Season and then breaking out, I could see it turning out for Green as well. But it’s definitely worth another try to have a veteran for Green jus sayin.

@@Rhude_tiller he has had vets though. They don’t listen. He has to change his mentality. Are Wall and Gordon not vets now? Before DG even got Rubio he was already on the upswing. The second half of his sophomore year he was always going there. I’m not saying Green is hopeless I’m saying the difference between the 2 is mentality not him just having a vet. He has had that already, he has to actually change his mindset to listen to them

They could also use Advanced plus minus since box plus minus doesn’t account for who’s on the floor hence why Rodman’s BPM is very high compared to MJ but when adjusted it’s much lower because he spent most of his time on the floor with the starters which would help your BPM get higher. There’s no perfect stat but adjusted ones are usually better than the raw ones. Its something more commonly used in baseball because of how different stadiums and era’s affect stats.

What I don’t get with the Rockets is what are they expecting to happen after they suck this year and get a top draft pick. They better not be thinking, “alright we’ve rounded out our starting 5 with top draft picks, time to tear up the league.” Nothing would indicate the situation getting better by adding another guy, when your volume scorers are still fundamentally flawed.

There have been far too many examples of generational talent being drafted later in lotto for me to accept tanking as viable. @@parks4421 the Cavs were not playing like the Rockets bruh 💀 that’s a straight lie. They were developing roles for guys. They didn’t have Okoro and Dg out there just chucking up shots not caring about running sets and making the right play. They established a culture off the court and developed guys on the court. Sexton became more efficient from year 1 to 2 to 3 and a better play maker. He shot a lot since someone had to score and take shots but it wasn’t a bunch of bad shot selection like i see Green do. They developed DG into being a better play maker from year 1 to 2 to 3. They developed guys like Lauri, Larry Nance and Dean Wade to be better defenders on the perimeter. I watched the Cavs bruh. They weren’t good due to lack of talent but it wasn’t the wild Wild West. It’s one thing to be bad it’s another to not put structure around players and teach them how to play nba basketball. Look at the Spurs they teaching those guys how to play NBA basketball. They gonna lose regardless since young teams don’t win but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t teach guys how to play and just roll the ball out there having them try to iso teams to death with bad shot after bad shot. They should be trying to develop a sustainable playstyle within their young talent not iso ball shot chucking. Agree to disagree brethren

People’s attention span is so low nowadays if you don’t come out of collage and average 21-5-5 less than 1 turnover per game and play for a winning team people label you as a stat patter and say you will never be good my theory is that a lot of people watching basketball now are in there mid to late 20s so they did not need to see the greats like Lebrun and Kobe develop they just saw them scoring 30 and winning championships so now players now just need to deal with that standard.

Hornets aren't at a great spot due to early injuries in the season but at least we try to aim to have a winning cluture at times. The rockets are the complete opposite of that and they really do not have a winning culture at all same goes to detroit.

I would say there is 2 types of empty stats 1. Being a good player that could contribute to a winning team as a 2nd or 3rd option but choose to be a number 1 on a team and make that bag i.e Carmelo or Bradley Beal 2. You average a good amount on a shitty team because you are one of their only options as a number one guy, or just that they are trying anyone that might make them not look like a complete joke. You could be a high draft pick or someone with potential, but usually end up a bust or just a really good role player and depending on expectations also a bust. 12:27 the thing I don’t like about this rebuttal is that it’s also too soon to say he’s wrong. If the guy making the video ends up right you just failed to see the truth before it was staring you in the face. If he’s wrong then jalen turned it around. Which is a possibility with any young star but no where near a guarantee. So if your only point is it’s too soon because of potential you’ll never be wrong until you end up with Ben Simmons on the nets and got nothing to say, literally

I really thought until not BPM meant like if you played a game and your BPM was +10 then your team scored 10 more points than the other team when you were on the court in total

It's not too soon. Green was in the G league with veterans foregoing college. Hea now in the NBA n has not matured. Check his shooting numbers in the g league n shot selections. Assist to turnover ratio. He's just out there trying to create highlights n enjoy life off the court. It's never too soon to try to get a POTENTIAL franchise player or crucial building block for your franchise on the right track before you have to pay them the max. What do you think he's worth after his rookie deal is up? Do you ship him out or sign him to a bad contract?
