Celebrations will be $20 a pack before any other modern set that hasn't yet reached it. Once people all start moving in that direction, the flood gates will be open. Same thing that happened with Evolutions. Everyone thought Evolutions would be cheap forever because they FLOODED the market with it. Booster boxes were $97 from 2016-2019, and then $500 by 2020. And people had tens of thousands of booster boxes held for investments. Reprint artworks of vintage cards will never fail.

Considering the price of singles the price of sealed doesn't make any sense. There really isn't even one chase in the whole set in terms of valuable card. I suppose it fun to open reprints, but even the worst regular sets have like 1 or 2 cards worth something. I don't rip for value, but I also don't spend a lot on packs when there isn't at least something worth that money.

While I understand what you are saying, I challenge you to also think about how COVID impacted the hobby. Celebrations is not and evolution for a multitude of reasons including but not limited how many more collectors there are and how much more supply pokemon is pushing to meet that demand. Just my two cents.

As the 30th anniversary gets closer. CELEBRATIONS WILL definitely sky rocket. Just look at the 20th Anniversary Generations set.

I hope so because I have quite a lot but the lack of value in the packs is concerning. The sealed needs time to become scarce. It's not going to be pushed up by set value so it'll have to come from sealed scarcity and nostalgia. It'll probably get there sooner or later but predicting when is difficult. Evolutions is a bit different because the PSA 10 multiplier is massive on some of those cards. It's nearly impossible to get 10's on those cards but it still attracts the gamblers. I'd imagine Celebrations will take off whenever vintage has another bull run. If the old cards become unaffordable people will look for the next best alternative which would drive them to products like Evolutions, TCG Classic and of course, Celebrations.

I love collecting art sets of packs! My son and I just started collecting a year ago.. we built a binder of every SwSh pack art and are doing the same with S&V.. I think they’ll be cool (and valuable) binders when the kid is older

Shining Legends man... other than Evolutions that's probably my favorite newer set with my best memories, buying tons of clearance sealed product and those amazing Super Premium Collections for $79 ea. Best product Pokemon ever came out with in my opinion. So crazy that all those Shining cards were slept on for 2 years straight before people realized they wanted them.

On Ebay, Evolving Skies hasn't been under $18 a pack in a month, and most sales are $19-$21 a pack.

my guess with the delay is because a component within is outsourced and gets delayed so they still waiting for that piece of the box to come in to be packed

Evolutions UPC had a bad starting point. It solt for $300 already at release, there was no room for short term growth. Many people who held it for quick gains are consistently selling the product which has held the price at around the same level for 3 years straight. But the UPC is still way higher than any UPC that came after it. And imo once the 30th anniversary rolls around, Celebrations will explode the same way Generations did. You have to consider that in 2021 Pokémon also hadn't yet adjusted to the growth in demand. You couldn't get pallets of Celebrations UPC at Target for $99 as you did with the Charizard or 151 UPC. You couldn't get Celebrations UPCs at all they were so rare.

So when j was a kid I collected charzarids and I had 9 different language charzarids I had 1st editions, base set 2 , dark charzarids and a few others. So my brother found all my cards I collected when I was a kid and they are all minty as hell! Like they look like they just came out the packs! I took very good care of my cards always! So I will be getting all my cards in a couple days! And let me tell you I'm getting them all graded i looked them all up and almost every single one of them is over 4k if i get a 10 also I am so glad that he does not know how much they are really worth or he would keep them and sell them! My brother is a dick like that! He wouldn't give me them if he only knew how much they are really worth!
