Great video. A diverse, regulated and cared for community inside of us is exactly as important and necessary (and currently under threat right now) as a diverse, regulated and cared for community outside of us. Remember what goes on inside is analogous to what we see happening in the world around us. The protocol/approach requires the same wisdom.

Dr Ruscio, will a leaky gut symptom be nausea? Can food poisoning cause a leaky gut? I got food poisoning 7 years ago, and have never been the same, constant nausea and digestive issues! Thank you, new follower here!

Nausea is a symptom of intestinal inflammation. Could be an infection, bacterial or other types. Do a test like GI - MAP. It's expensive but looks for infections and is very sensitive.

Nice video again. Posting comment for 1st time. So, I recently started a protocol to restore intestinal flora and nasal flora, but before the start of the protocol itself I had to cleanse the intestinal tract with the laxative lacthiol (E966), I take live bacteria in liquid form - bifido blend and another blend of 12 different ones strains - lacto, bifido, streptococci, etc., alternating the different blends and taking them before the main meal. I just want to say that the effects of probiotics and improvement in my condition have been felt since the second day of taking it or as they said from the company I bought the probiotic kit from - there is no way 15 milliliters of probiotics can fight 2 kilograms of bacteria in the gut - it will take an awful lot of time, apparently and for this you need to cleanse the intestines before starting to load with new and living bacteria.

how do these Probiotics stay active and survive the stomach acid?
@DrRuscioDC8 ай бұрын
Great question and this is one I get a lot. I covered some research a couple of months ago that actually showed that even heat-killed probiotics still provided benefit, so the "live" part of probiotics may not be as crucial as we had thought. You can watch that video here to get the details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5nViHukhNKcf68 An additional thought is that there's a sizable body of research demonstrating benefits of non-enteric-coated probiotics. And my thinking here is if they didn't work, the research would reflect that. So I think we can be much less strict about probiotics. :)

I started taking your lacto and soil based blend and followed your dose recommendation somewhere in the last 6months-1 year. I still have bloating, but all the sudden i realized my skin issues have reduced a lot. Foods that would normally give me serious skin issues don't really seem to cause much of an issue now. I cant be 100% sure its the probiotics but I cant really attribute it to anything else. Oddly enough my diet has been very little veggies/more unhealthy in the time that i showed improvement. I can only pray that things keep going in this direction b/c the strict diet stuff had consumed my life for years. I cant tell you what a quality of life improvement it is to be able to eat more foods again, minus the skin issues. Literally its life changing. A whole food plant based diet as much as you can. Eating a lot of fresh, living foods (raw fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds, herbs and greens especially). Probiotics can be helpful across the lifespan, you can use them alongside a healthy diet, or as a supplement occasionally, or you can just focus on getting a lot of foods that have good probiotics in them (yogurt (there is great vegan yogurt), sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, kombucha, pickles, any fermented food, or raw organic fruits and veggies, which also will contain pre-biotics which feed the probiotics. Hope that helps.

Hi saw in a video that fos in probiotics is harmful? Whats your view on fos
@jayalexandertilley9 ай бұрын
Hey. I'm not a doctor but am a holistic nutritionist. My gut tells me (pun intended) that having FOS in a probiotic could cause trouble for someone who's microbiome is in distress. For someone who is experiencing leaky gut, or other digestive issues, or has had a disruption to the community of bacteria in their gut through something like antibiotics, certain kinds of diets, etc., might not have the resident bacteria (abundance and diversity) to be able to properly breakdown the FOS. It's similar to why people go on low Fodmap diets, essentially to reset their microbiome, and then slowly reintroduce really good foods that require a healthy and diverse community of bacteria to be properly broken down and used. I hope that makes sense. For a healthy gut, the presence of FOS is potentially of great benefit. Having pre and probiotics together is a great strategy in food or supplement if and when your digestion is in good order.
