You know, out of ALL the options and components out there for and using RGB, I think cabling was the best and most natural choice for something that ought to be RGB. And rather surprised that it took as long as it did for it to happen. I mean, look... you have companies out there specializing in cabling sleeving and solutions, particularly for themed rig builds and especially when other RGB components are involved. Imagine if you had RGB cabling that was the actual cables being RGB. Now imagine that you could program those cables individually... basically doing what Cablemod does, just in RGB. And completely changeable. On the same cable. So barring burnout or life cycle replacement, you wouldn't need to replace your cables if, say, you wanted to change color theme. Or replace your rig. Just reprogram them. Now imagine if you could hue match from the RGB wheel, on top of that. Yeah... think that'd be worth the cost of admission. You'd really only need custom sleeving for black sleeve. Or if you like the unlit aesthetic.

Surprised you couldn't figure out how to bend the cables. Cables kink like that because both layers have the same fixed length so when you put them into a curve it forces the inner layer to be "shorter" but since its ends are fixed to the same connector as the outer curve it has nowhere to extend and kinks. The solution to this is to bend the other half(that is hidden and connects to your PSU) of the cables in the opposite direction, basically the whole cable extension should be bend in an S shape with only half of it visible, this way there are no kinks and the inner and outer layers are perfectly symmetrical.

My main issue is the 8+8 GPU cable because if your card only takes a single 6 pin connector, your stuck with this massive 8+8 wide input you have to figure out something creative in order for it to fit. I believe I have the Strimer 1 set, the 24 pin looks great tho. Since the GPU cable is only worthwhile for users with dual input cards (which I fail currently and have just a radeon 5500 xt which just takes an 8 pin), I'm not even using it and wasted $30 on it.
@Blacksadify4 жыл бұрын
I was one of the unfortunate individuals who bought the original Strimer's. At least they included the ARGB cable this time. In the originals, the instructions stated "To attach these, just use the ARGB cable that came with your motherboard." Uh, mine didn't come with one of those. So, then I had to order a cable....to use a cable. These look way better. I'd still like to see: Black cables. The GPU cable ends be detachable, so someone who only needs a 6-pin can remove the other plug.

Still waiting for my motherboard to come and still need to find a gpu but I think these cables are more important. Also I have a non-modular psu will it still work? And are these just like extensions that connect to the ends of the cables that come out the psu?

I'm rocking a 3600 and an RX 5700 XT and I just dropped 100 on Thermaltake Riing 12 pro TT kit with RGB strips. I'm really happy with the performance of my system and adding a bit of colour is a nice touch. That being said, 3 fans and 2 strips for 100 is definitely a lot better value than these cables and I don't think I could justify that amount for this product. I would possible go to 50 for something like this.

It's Lian-Li, you're supposed to have a vertical mounted GPU for that 8pins cable to not get that issue with the other side of the strip.

You see, I had this suggestion for RGB cables that would technically be possible but might be a little difficult to perform. I was thinking perhaps you could make some sort of fibre optic style tube that is relatively flexible but also refracts the light in a way that it can travel decent distances, but then you could put a white, Chrome, or black cable inside that fibre optic tube so that there's 360 degrees of white around the cables. No I don't know how possible is actually is but it'd be really really awesome to see it and I would love to demo it if someone was able to do that

putting the cables in a sleeve behind the rgb cables would be perfect or at least put them in closed closed combs to keep the cables neat. great suggestions to lian li.
