1. Face down cards can’t be used as fusion material but can be used for tributes of a ritual or tribute summon or effect. (There are 3 different options here) 2. 1 Normal summon and 1 set or 2 sets or 2 normal Summons per turn (Or Or or 1 of each A set, A normal summon, And 1 tribute Summon) (Or or or 1 Normal summon per main phase) 3. You can Normal Summon in Face-up Defense Position 4. Tokens can be used as xyz material (But aren’t attached as material?) (Or they are it’s just a decision to make?) 5. Increase the Extra and Side deck to 20 6. Draw 1 card when you end your turn (Optional)( you’re welcome infinity players and so you don’t Deck out) 7. Link monsters can be used as synchro material but count as level 0 ofc 8. Get rid of missing timing (If and when mean the same thing) Great okay now someone explain “It” and “that card” 9. Get rid of properly summoning 10. Ritual monsters that say “YOU CAN ritual summon this card” can also be Special summoned like regular monsters. Only Rituals that say “MUST BE” must be ritual summoned. - SIDE NOTE Drytrons ruined the ability to NORMAL summon Ritual monsters but maybe you can Make the normal summon gimmick of a Ritual Monster so that you can only normal summon level 4 or lower Rituals but level 5+ required a “Ritual summon” (3 Options here) 11. Unlimited normal summons of normal monsters and of any level 1-8 (You DO NOT require tributes for lvl 5-8) Or you do it’s just a decision again) Or Normals can just be normal summoned without tributes but not unlimitedly) Or you can summon normal monster unlimitedly) 12. Links aren’t restricted to the EMZONES To be Summoned 13. Pendulum summoning from the face-up extra deck aren’t restricted to linked zones 14. Once per turn on either turn each player can activate 1 trap from their hand 15. When a monster attacks another monster thats in defense position and with higher DEF points the attacking monster is destroyed after damage calc. (Equals ATK n DEF cancel out and both monsters stay on the field but battles with equal ATK values will be destroyed Iike normal) 16. Both players can use both the Mid Field EMZones for any type of monsters. (Kaiju, effect monsters, normals ect) (Link arrows are not needed to occupy both Emz) 18. Monsters in the Mid field Extra monster Zones (aka the regular 2 EMZ) can be used by either player for The summons of Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Link and tributes for tribute Summons. Now both players benefit and take a risk by using the Extra monsters zones (Cards like “urgent tuning” can be used to synchro summon using any monsters in the Midfield-Emzones(the opponent’s cards or your own cards in the EMZones) 19. Monsters in the Pendulum Zones can be used by (the controller) for The summons of Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Link and tributes for tribute Summons 20. You can Fusion summon fusion monsters without poly by Summoning material on top/in the same zone as the other material.( for monster that requires 3 material the material must be on field or in hand just like how poly works. ( if you’ve play Dark Duel stories then you’d know how this works) ( its just a choice between letting this summoning mechanic be a fusion summon or not which ofc it should be counted as Fusion summon so then monsters gain their effects and if the material is sent to the gy or is stays stacked in the same zones.) 21. Bring back the Pendulum zones but you can only pendulum summon monsters equal to the # of zones in between where you placed your scales in the back row. So with how the board is set up now you can only pen summon 3 monsters. So if you want to summon 5 they’d need to bring back pendulum scale zones plus it’d be cool to set traps in your pendulum zones yk (One extra link Summon per turn?) 22. Link monsters Arrow can be used to climb up or down the field creating EMZones on your opponent’s field or your own S/T zones (monsters that are on your side of the field under the opponent’s control can be used as summoning material for link, xyz, synchro, fusion, ritual, or tribute summons) 23. Both And/or Link arrows just let the link monster attack the zones it points to along with monsters in the same Column 24. Monster in the main monster zones can only attack the monsters in the same column as themselves and when the zone is empty you can attack directly. 25. Monsters In the Mid Field Extra Monster Zones have the chance to target any monsters in the main monster zones for attacks along with the other Mid Field Extra Monster Zone **(If there were trap pendulums then Trap pendulums can only attack traps and spell pendulums can only attack spells) **(spell and trap Cards must be face-up on the field to be attacked or not idk) 26. While In the EMZ or main monster zones Pendulum monsters can attack S/T cards/ cards in the S/T zones in the same column as itself. (No damage is delt) And/Or pendulums can only attack an opponent’s Cards in the S/T zones while its been summon to the opponent’s field (in your control) bc the arrow your link monster points to is an opponent’s main monsters zones. Eh eh eh ? No still too much huh (Cards must be face-up to be attacked) 27. While a pendulum monster is in a pendulum zone it can attack the card across from itself in the opposite/opponents pendulum zone. (A better idea for #28 would be that’s when a Xyz monster Destroys another monster by battle then it can Attach that monster as material) it’s just a simpler idea then my Original idea for a XYZ ruling gimmick. (Links count as 0 so are or aren’t (idk) vulnerable to all leveled or ranked monsters) 28. All monsters have battle protection from monsters with lower Levels/Ranks than themselves and also have Battle vulnerability with monsters that have a higher Level/ Rank than themselves. Meaning they are instantly destroyed after damage calc when battling a monster with a higher Level/ Rank So All monsters have battle protection and instant destruction upon attacks on monsters in this order. Level 12 beats level 11 and below and Rank 1 beats level 12 and below ect ect ect Or levels and ranks are equivalent meaning a rank 4 and level 4 are equal so they beat level 3 and rank 3 and below but not each other. 29. You can start duels with any number of Pendulum’s monsters face-up on top of the extra deck for you to Pend summon but they take up space/slots in your extra Deck (Maybe when going first you can’t access the speed spell deck idk just an idea) 30. Add a secondary Extra deck thats only for spells and traps thats 5-10-20 cards and you can once per turn set 1 trap or add it to your hand and 1 activate/set of a spell or add it to your hand ( only in the main phase(s) of the turn players turn) (Pendulum monsters can be place here to) (You Activate any spell you choose from the speed spell deck or you set it depends on if you wanna extra zone to activate spells from or if you wanna make it more of a guess which card is my trap cards kinda deal) 31. Create a separate banlist for the speed spell deck ( you still can only have 3 copies of a S/T card between your main and speed spell deck.) 32. All together your once per turn resources become 1 set of a trap or add it to your hand from the speed spell deck 1 set of a spell or add it to your hand from the speed spell deck 1 normal summon 1 set of a monster 1 Tribute summon (maybe) 1 pendulum summon 1 activation of a trap from the hand (Bonus rule from CalebDOtexe or from farfa in the video) 33. Gemini’s count as normal monsters while in the hand and Main Deck also (Spirit monster gimmick) 34. Every main phase or Phase You can choose to return to the hand or keep the spirit monsters on the field. (Comments ideas to make the Left and Right Pend Zones matter/ have gimmick for placing it there) 35. Pendulum monsters in the left pendulum zone gain protection from trap effects and pendulum monsters In The right side Pendulum Zone gains protection from Spells. (A missinterpretation by Farfa by i guess it’s a Valid idea now) 36. Add a 3rd EMZ IN between the 2 existing EMZONES (Just a idea) 37. Move the field Spell Zones on the Right and left sides of the Existing midfield-EMZ (Idk read it on Reddit and it’s so you can imperm your opponents field spells) (Comment More win condition ideas beside Decking out, or Burn Damage gimmicks) 38. Alternative win condition that states ( if you Destroy by battle 15-20 of your opponents monsters you win the Duel) Or (If you can banish a certain number of their monsters you win the game) Bonus ideas from FARFA 39. You can flip over Flip Effect Monsters on your opponent’s turn but not the turn they are Set ofc. or You can set unlimited number of times during a turn. Or OR Both Rulings combined

Create Pendulums with Different Numbered Scales on Each Side(scale) 11. Level 1 synchros 12. Link tuners (CUPID PITCH ruins the possibility for this card type kinda) Less possible/realistic 1. Create Link monsters with DEF points that are Red cards 2. Create S/T cards with Pendulum Scales 3. Create S/T cards with Link Arrows 4. Create Speed Spells And a Speed Spell Deck Zone 5. Create a new Trap Card type that Are True “Hand traps” 6. Extra deck kaijus as new summoning mechanic that are like red link monsters that use your opponent’s monsters to summon them to your field.

Divine Beast immunity is probably fine. Removing non-targetting would make cards that can't be targeted too strong. A banned Set would be good for collection.

Synthesis of two of the takes: delete Pendulum Summoning, but introduce a new mechanic called Forklift Summoning and the corresponding Forklift Monsters. It's basically MR3 Pendulums, but instead of scales, you got the Forklift Certification Ranks

Instead of pendulum summoning from your hand, you can place all your fork lifts in the spell/trap zone And then your pendulum zone forklifts will *fork lift* every fork lift between them into the monster zones!

I thought of it backwards lmfao you're talking changing other cards to be divine, not changing divine to another attribute. Tuzki has the best suggestion, original type so attribute changes dont give you board protection.

1. UNION monsters can be Equipped from the Hand as Equip spells 2. Gemini monsters are treated as normal monsters in the hand, field, Deck, GY, banished? 3. FLIP monsters can be flipped over on the opponents turn as quick Effects and ofc can’t be flipped the turn they are Set ofc. or You can set monsters unlimited number of times during a turn. Or OR Both Rulings combined 4. Spirit monsters can be Returned to the hand on either turn as quick effects whenever the controller wants to have the spirit monster returned to the hand instead of at the end of the turn it was summoned. It would be nice if Konami adjusted the functions/rulings of these monsters types/gimmicks/mechanics as the community is always brainstorming Then they(Konami) could release new archetypes to use to teach you the new rulings/mechanics/functionality of these 4 monsters types That are Geminis Spirits Unions AND Flippa’s THEN then then Konami COULD WORK ON fixing/buffing/balancing Rituals Pendulums And Links and doing the same thing by releasing archetypes based on these Summon types. Idk about anyone else but Normal monsters, Fusions, Synchros, XYZ’s all feel COMPLETE/FUNCTIONAL/ In sync with the core of the game Geminis Unions Spirits Flippa’s Pends Links Rituals These mechanics feel OFF and out of sync Idk I feel like all the Summon mechanics should work in sync but can still function and be playable independently of other Summoning types It just opens up so much room for card design for a game all about card design and with 12000 cards it seems like they enjoy making new cards but also still caring for the old cards .

This is an extra Normal Summon which can only be used on a face-up Gemini monster that is being treated as a Normal monster on the field. 3) Players can Flip Summon 1 FLIP monster during their opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase (provided that monster wasn't Set that turn) and as long as the following conditions are met: - The Flip Summon cannot occur in the middle of a chain. - The Flip Summon must occur in response to a Summon or attack declaration. Example: If your opponent Normal Summons E-HERO Stratos and activates its effect to search, you cannot Flip Summon your Set Penguin Soldier in response to that Summon because Stratos' effect activates at that time, starting a chain. 4) Spirit monsters can use their self-bouncing effect as a Quick Effect before the End Phase of the turn they were Summoned or flipped face-up. If the player chooses not to, they must activate that effect during the End Phase like they usually would. 5) Once per turn, during the Main Phase, the turn player can move 1 Pendulum Monster from their Extra Monster Zone to one of their unused Main Monster Zones. (This does not start a chain). 6) Link Monsters can be changed to Defense position like other types of Monster Cards, in which case they are turned counter clockwise (no other orientation is allowed for Link Monsters). 7) A Link Monster's original DEF is treated as 0 while it is on the field and they are not considered to have a DEF stat in any other location (i.e. Extra Deck, GY, banished). As such, they are not valid targets for cards that look for specific DEF values in such locations (e.g. Masked Chameleon). 8) Link Monsters must be Summoned in Attack position and are not valid targets for effects that can only Special Summon monsters in Defense position (e.g. Splash Mage). Sadly, I can't think of any way to make Rituals better. I guess that can only be done with support cards that mitigate the inherent shortcomings of the mechanic, kinda like how Konami already did with Fusions.

Dead ass, Just make 3 new gods cards. Remake all 3 and give em some anime type effects. Because they deserve some protection and putting them on the field feels like a waste of time when you get popped by a simple effect.

@@ai2802 not total towers, that would suck no matter what flavor you wrap it in (not to mention that would reduce all three of them to just big beatsticks). There needs to be a way to play around their protection. Something like: "Uneffected by monster effects, except for monsters with the same or higher level." Then add some actually good, but costly effects and in-archetype recursion (so losing your god isn't the end of the game) and you can get pretty good and fun to play with and against retrains.

I actually found a lot of your suggestions super interesting. I love the turn 2 fixes regarding Normal Summoning once per Main Phase and player two starting with 6 cards in hand. I also think it would be really cool if Konami held frequent community polls to determine which legacy archtypes they'll give a fair bit of modern support to in new sets.

Here's a compromise for geminis. They don't need to be normal summoned twice, however their effects are only active when normal summoned, meaning that second summon only applies when they've been cheated out as a special summon, but just normal summoning from the hand gets the effect right away.

Then it’s not different from any other monsters that can trigger effect on summon like Tour Guide or Deep Sea Diva, etc. For me I think the best way to fix Gemini is to make their effect extremely busted, for instance maybe the effects are spell speed 4, and it can nuke the field or… *draw 2* or *draw 3* but you can’t ash. And maybe make some more cards which allows you to search Gemini monsters freely and allow you to slap them on the field as well.

If they allowed Link Monsters to be put into Defense, they would have to standardise the "correct" orientation for Defense monsters. And then they'd have to keep that in mind when making new Links and also probably have to ban a bunch of existing Links since changing where they point would be pretty busted. Example, Splash Mage in the middle zone in Defense could point to both Extra Monster Zones, thus allowing a Extra-Link with only three cards.

Singularity is the only card in the game with arrows that point to both up-left and up-right that DOESN'T have the effect that you can not special summon to an Extra Monster Zone it points to. With Singularity being a Link 6 that requires at least three materials. It's not worth making Extra Link your main strategy by using it.

So card text overhaul is kinda like how OCG write cards effects. Starting with the limitation on summoning condition or card's activation (such as making you cannot draw/special summon during the turn you activate that card or just declaring it's a Hard OPT). For example, how OCG wrote Shekhinaga's effect: このカードは融合召喚でのみEXデッキから特殊召喚できる。このカード名の①の効果は1ターンに1度しか使用できない。 ①:特殊召喚されたモンスターの効果が発動した時に発動できる。その発動を無効にし破壊する。その後、手札から「シャドール」カード1枚を墓地へ送る。 ②:このカードが墓地へ送られた場合、自分の墓地の「シャドール」魔法・罠カード1枚を対象として発動できる。そのカードを手札に加える。 Which translates into: Must first be Fusion Summoned. You can only use the ① effect of this card's name once per turn. ①:When a Special Summoned monster activates its effect: You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that monster, then send 1 "Shaddoll" card from your hand to the GY. (the text "while you have a "Shaddoll" card in your hand" is omitted in the OCG) ②:If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 "Shaddoll" Spell/Trap in your GY; add it to your hand. It's a very good idea to make a point for each effect to make it easier to tell which effect is doing what. Although just declaring a card or an effect with only "HOPT" like the one that's shown in the video would be bad since there's two types of HOPT, one that uses the word "use" and one that uses the word "activate" (Swordsoul Emergence has the word "use" in the HOPT clause but Pot of Prosperity has the word "activate", some other cards like Big Welcome Labrynth has an even harder OPT).

It also doesn't work for differentiating between "You can only use each of this card name's effects once per turn" or "You can only activate one of this card name's effects per turn and only once that turn" as easily as the OCG writing. You might say "Well just put the multiple-choice wording on cards where it applies" but in that case it's not as standardized and if it's going to be in the header anyway then just put it there for all hard once per turns. Also it's just not as aesthetically pleasing and not as immediately understandable so just doing it like the OCG would be fine.

Here is a truly good one; If a Link Monster would be changed to defense it is destroyed instead. Since this is destruction by game rule rather than by card effect Book of Moon could destroy indestructible Links! Also, to fix "missing the timing" (which isn't even grammatical, a choice with IF rather than WHEN would be more appropriate to not activate consistently) look up "Stack" in the MTG Comprehensive Rules, Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, change a few terms and done. Speaking of Comprehensive Rulebooks: making and maintaining one (freely available) is a stupendous idea!

Case for "When" clauses. Konami actually still prints when clauses on new cards when they don't have HOPTs. See Gate Guardians Combined, Witchcrafter Vice-Madame, and Thunder Dragon Titan. It's to give them counter-play and be chain blocked to make up for the lack of HOPT. So when clauses are an actual mechanic now. Doesn't change the fact that cards like Torrential should be errated or get a retrain to fix those old school problems though.

Cardfight has a rule that is pretty interesting to unbrick ur plays and i think this is something that should be on YGO. When the game in cardfight starts, both players draw their hand, but then u has an optional rule that u can use before start the game in fact, u can shuffle back any number of cards in your hand that u dont want to keep on ur hand, and then draw the same number. You can only use this rule once during the start of the game.

If any interaction changed to targeted effect, then cards that spesifically said cannot be targeted by cards effect basically becomes a tower. Watt-hopper type interaction unironically will become of the most powerful play, since without Kaiju, you cannot do anything, you can't interact nor respond to any of their cards since all cards need to targets, but you can't target because of the lock.

-Pendulums go back to how they functioned MR3, but Pendulum summoned monsters can NOT be used as material for any other extra deck mechanic only when summoned "normally" -When no longer exists all when effects are treated the same as if effects -Unlimited setting of monsters, but you cannot normal summon the same turn -You can continue to perform normal summons as long as you do not summon a monster from the extra deck, the second you do you don't get any more -FLIP monsters can be flipped face up at any time their FLIP effect could resolve (but not monsters that do not fall into the specific classification with effects that simply activate "when this card is flipped face up") -Gemini monsters are always treated as Normal monsters regardless of location -Any monster effect that inteacts with the opponent can be negated by revealing a Normal monster with equal or higher attack in your hand as a "blocker", if equal the Normal monster gets banished at resolution, so it doesn't work on self boosting, summoning, or searching, primarily disruption a specific monster can only block once per turn -Buff the average stats of Normal/Gemini monsters -Ban any no cost Omni-negate with over 2000 atk that can be summoned with less than 3 materials in any way and errata them accordingly -Use erratas as "patches" for the game to not just nerf overpowered cards byt to also buff underperforming ones -Ritual monsters can be tribute summoned if not directly stated otherwise and you get to draw a card whenever one is summoned through any method -Never print generic archetypal support again, lock it ALL down to where it's meant to be to at most being only compatible with shared type and attribute -All cards have a common printing in their set, Rares, Super Rares, Secrets all of them will also have a common printing

It also enables weird interactions, like splash mage's summon in defense restriction is specifically made to avoid abusing it with links. With this change any 2 cybserse monsters now climb into accesscode via splash mage and transcode.

I believe Farfa should try to make his own yugioh format like MBT shared a while ago. Very small, self-contained, in which he plays with friends, and some patreons. He could modify the rules, choose which archetypes, and generic cards are available, and even redesign some card effects in order to work well in the new format. The places this could work are IRL, or in Dueling Book; it's worth considering.

1. Pendulum Zones are their own Zones. 2. Pendulum & Link monsters in the Extra Deck can be summoned to any monster zone. 3. Player 1 draws for the first turn. 4. Priority exists. 5. Level 9 & 10 monsters cost 3 monsters to tribute summon, while 11 & 12 cost 4 monsters. 6. The 3 cards of the same name per deck rule is changed to 3 cards with the same passcode. Example: Duelists can run 3 “Umi”, 3 “A Legendary Ocean”, 3 “Lemuria, the Forgotten City”, 3 “Magellanica, the Deep Sea City” & 3 “Pacifis, the Phantasm City”. 7. All Ritual, Nomi & Semi-Nomi monsters must first be summoned before they can be used as tribute, or material, for the summoning of another monster. 8. If properly summoned, any monster with specific cards listed needed for its summon count as many named monsters listed when it’s on the field, while taking up only 1 monster zone. They also bear the names of the monsters. Examples: Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is treated as 3 “Blue Eyes White Dragon” on the field, despite taking up only 1 monster zone. Black Skull Dragon is treated as 2 monsters, both with the names: “Summon Skull” & “Red Eyes Black Dragon”. My unhinged take: You know how a lot of broken cards are only broken because they are not once per turn? Easy fix: Make it a rule that every effect is (hard) once per turn unless stated otherwise. As a nice side effect this would help with the word count on cards and the inconsistency of "where" the OPT text is located. Some comments to the points of the video: - Extra Normal summon during MP2: Don't see this take often...Would actually be interesting to see how this would turn out - Turn 2 player gets no draw, but starts with 6 cards: Would immediatly make the game more enjoyable. If only for the fact, that you don't have to wait for your opponent to finish their combo to see wether the 6th card helps your bricked hand or wether you didn't have a chance from the beginning - Card text overhaul: Yes, please. I'll die on this hill, but making the card text better readable with even the slightest bit of formatting would do so much in terms of making the game more fun for everyone. Would also make the game easier to learn, thus more accessible to new players and maybe ones with actual reading issues/ disabilities or such. I'm sure no sane person enjoys reading these giant blobs of texts. In Master Duel recently they are working on making cards easier understandable. But this was one of my biggest gripes with the game at release, how they have these nice and big detail views of cards...but they would NOT take advantage of not being limited by the size of card board.

I think these two rules would make things a bit less broken and would make it feel like that you are playing old-school Yu-Gi-Oh. Implement these two rules: -Everything is a hard once per turn. (So you can play a card/effect truly only once per turn) -You can only summon maximum 6 times per turn.

@@ygocardscatalogger3198 I never said pend couldn't have archetypes It's obvious that it can have archetypes just like links have archetypes( code talkers, spyral) and how every other summoning type has archetypes dedicated to it What I'm saying is that pendulum summoning as a whole isn't an archetype and that's basically how it's treated nowadays Pendulum decks aren't called by the namesake archetype name, they are called pendulum decks because pendulums are basically just a revolving door of all the best pendulums being played in the same deck in order to vomit out as many extra deck negates as possible It's not treated as a summoning type which can reasonably be used in almost every deck And yes while there are pendulum decks that don't follow this trend( abyss actor, solfacord) they aren't anywhere near competitively relevant and basically inconsequential The point of summoning mechanics are that they aren't archetypes This is why archetypes that use specific summoning mechanics exist Summoning mechanics are methods of summoning that can either make up the main goal of an archetype or be splashed into them because they have tools to facilitate them I.e Mathmech uses XYZ and Link summoning, Rikka also uses XYZ and Link summoning, Spyral splashes XYZ monsters and Synchro monster into their deck while being a link deck

Battle step simplification, we don’t need that much steps to form chains. Just 1 chain during attack declaration, 1 chain during damage step, you perform damage calculation during damage calculation, and 1 chain of the results of battle. When time is called the turn player can attempt to enter his next phase as many times as he wants until he reaches the end of battle phase. The turn player can activate cards as chain link 2 or higher if his opponent interrupted him from entering his next phase.

Honestly any effect that changes a card to defense, or flips it face down, should outright destroy link monsters. There are so many cards that just cannot be used on links it's annoying.

“When” becoming “If” is actually going to hurt in the long run. Sure in the short-term it makes things like Gusto broken or stuff like Torrential Tribute, but this also kills a lot of other archetypes- especially those that use monster effects as disruption or advantage generation, such as cards like Naturia Beast & Baronne de Fleur, and whole archetypes such as Nouvellez. “When” becoming “If” turns these disruptions and generations into effects that trigger A CHAIN LATE over IN THE SAME CHAIN, losing out on a lot of ways to take advantage of the opponent’s turn. This also changes a lot of Continuous Spells/Traps and Field Spells that have effects on activation such as Magical Meltdown & Fire Formation - Tenki, as now, presumably under these changes, they can now search even if they leave the field on activation, making them extremely more resilient. In the long run, this change could actually make certain decks and cards more broken than others, so this is one rule I’m personally going to be against.

Some of these are really good. Like just slight modifications that give more balance to the game, like the 2nd player drawing 6 cards directly and having access to two normal summons with their main phase 2, that's something I could get behind. Some of these, like... I really don't see the point of having link monsters in defense. I also like the "banlist applies per team" thing for 3VS3 and I want it not only for 3Vs3 but also for Tag Duels in general. For me, the spirit of these duels is to see how completely different decks can find synergy with one another, rather than 2 guys playing the exact same meta deck card for card. I don't really care about the god cards so do whatever with them, make the DM fans happy I guess. I 100% AGREE on doing a huge rework on card texts. The fact we don't have it like the OCG is already starting to cause issues that risk creeping up on us in the years to come. For example, we have no way to identify a condition/thing that isn't an effect (like Zeroboros' first line of text) in the TCG, while in the OCG they simply have no numbers on these. Another example is with the recent Suship continuous spell and monsters mentionned on text - because how many monsters mention their own name in text because of the TCG HOPT naming the monster itself? How do you explain to a player that the HOPT isn't part of a card's text?

Once per Turn on either Turn each Player can Activate 1 Trap from their Hand 6. Defense Mode Monsters Must be Attacked/ Prioritized over Attack Mode Monsters During the Battle Phase. 7. You can Attack you Own Monsters😱 (Damage is Delt?) (No Damage is Delt?) 8. Face-down Cards can’t be used as (FUSION, Link, Synchro, XYZ) Material but can be used for Tributes of a Ritual or Tribute Summon or Effect. 9. Links aren’t restricted to the EMZONES/ Linked Zones to be Summoned 10. Link Monsters can be used as Synchro Material but count as Level 0 ofc (I Don’t think this restriction helps) 11. ( if you’ve play Dark Duel Stories then you’d know how this works) ( its just a choice between letting this Summoning mechanic be a fusion summon or not which ofc it should be counted as Fusion summon so then monsters gain their effects and if the material is sent to the gy or is stays stacked in the same zones.) 27. Ritual monsters that say “YOU CAN Ritual Summon this card” can also be Special Summoned like regular Monsters. Only Rituals that say “MUST BE” must be Ritual Summoned. - SIDE NOTE Drytrons ruined the ability to NORMAL Summon Ritual monsters but maybe you can Make the Normal Summon gimmick of a Ritual Monster so that you can only Normal Summon Level 4 or Lower Rituals but Level 5+ required a “Ritual summon” 28. Bring back the Pendulum Zones but you can only Pendulum Summon Monsters Equal to the # of Zones in between where you placed your Scales in the back row. So with how the board is set up now you can only pen summon 3 monsters. So if you want to Summon 5 they’d need to bring back Pendulum Scale Zones. (You can Place your Scales in any S/T Zones not just the Pend Zones) (You can place your S/T Cards in the Pend zones or Normal S/T) (You can place your Scales/Pendulums Monsters Face-Down) (Maybe when going first you can’t access the Speed Spell Deck idk just an idea) 29. Add a Secondary Extra Deck thats only for Spells and Traps thats 5-10-20 Cards and you can Once per Turn Set 1 Trap or Add it to your Hand and 1 Activation/Set of a Spell or Add it to your Hand ( Can only be accessed during the in the Main phase(s) of the turn players turn) (Pendulum monsters can be place here to) (You Activate any spell you choose from the speed spell deck or you set it depends on if you wanna extra zone to activate spells from or if you wanna make it more of a guess which card is my trap cards kinda deal) 30. Create a separate banlist for the speed spell deck ( you still can only have 3 copies of a S/T card between your main and speed spell deck.) 31. I know I'm a month late, but I just wanted to drop my 2 cents no one will actually read. 4:15 Its kinda crazy to hear a yugi tuber drop this opinion, which has been my take on how to "Fix" pendulums for the longest time. Players drop the most harebrained fixes that over complicate the mechanic, but reverting pendulums would be the only right way to fix them. Effectively, since MR4, they've been kinda flailing in the water with sparse bits of support. Lets go ahead and get my bias out of the way, I am the biggest pendulum simp. Pendulum is my favorite mechanic. it got me back into the game back at the tail end of my time at high school. Odd-eyes is my favorite and my pet deck. Additionally, I'd like to point out that Pendulums have had to drastically reinvent their play style for MR4 and 5. Or 4 revision if someone wants to read this and drop an "Um, actually-". most pendulum decks play similarly, at least in MR3. the repeated pop, search, stack of setting up the extra deck before making a huge pendulum summoning and barfing five cards onto the board, then make their plays. basically playing their whole hand and playing from the Face up Exrta deck. a playstyle that MBT dubbed "Pepe Lite" which I agree with but dont see much problem in. the change to pendulums effectively makes this playstyle dead in the water. Cards like Wavering Eyes are practically useless and serve to shoot you in the foot with Pendulums as they currently are, as well as flipping Pendulum strategies on their head. Instead of stacking up a big pend summon, you're now trying to make a link 2 and then pendulum summon, a playstyle that is very difficult for pendulum strategies to natively preform. Any opponent with 2 brain cells is going to see this bottle necking and target your scales or your link monster and smack you down for your turn 2. Effectively, you're often trying to stretch 1 card into 2, or worse, 4. The grind game of pretty much any pendulum strategy has been shot in the knee caps and turn 2, you're struggling to make anything meaningful happen. In "Archetype" (Most people treat Pendulum as an archetype even through its a whole mechanic, which I can see why as it can be a bit of a walled garden) the Konami prescribed solutions are... "Extra Pendulum" a whole second pendulum summon, because you need your first one to make a link and then make an actual play. "PenduLuMoon", a normal summon, add 2 back to your hand from the Extra deck so they arent competing for your two linked monster zones. "Pendulum Soul" another second pendulum summon, but after 3 turns. "Pendulum Paradox" spell card version of PenduLuMoon but somehow more restrictive. To touch on the nature of most pendulum decks being basically "Pendulum Good stuff Pile dot deck", its more so the way the mechanic has to play just to have a real chance of doing anything. its a bit ironic, that Konami pushed Pendulum to that point and keeps hitting it for trying to survive, See the ban of Electrumite. but in taking Pendulum behind the shed like Old Yeller', instead of an interesting mechanic, its just another degenerate combo deck that ends on 15 negates. I guess my biggest point, if anyone sees this anyway, is that no other mechanic was changed like Pendulum was. Imagine if Fusions suddenly required 2 of each monster, named or generic. or if you had to use two tuners but their levels only counted for half what they originally did. Or again, doubling up on resources to Xyz summon. Sure, some Xyz based decks could probably throw out four materials for it, but was that how they were designed to play? Or was it a slap dash, shove this under the rug and into unplayability, get this thing out of here, I dont want to see it again? I'll refrain from what I think is Konami's regret of making pendulums and just say, TL;DR I love pendulums. Let me Pend Summon 6 from the extra deck.

You missed one important part: Face-Down Attack Mode! Link-Spells and Link-Traps! Trap-Monsters that are basically Flip-Mosters but are set in the S/T Zone (existing ones get changed to how Pendulum look but with Trap instead of Spell) Did I miss a thing? ... oh yea congratz on the 3v3 duel banlist thingy that Master Duel actually does in their tournament, which I like tbh.

so, i have a question regarding the "targeting" take: does DRNM would target? "target all monsters your opponent controls"? I understand your point, and probably you don´t want ALL cards to target (like rigeki, evenly, feather duster, DRNM, etc). It would be a mess with cards that summon from hand or GY (you can´t target cards in hand, and thus you would have to choose between summon from GY or Hand, but that would mean a huge amount of erratas that change how the card works) it would be a mess with board breakers/cards that affect the several zones, etc.

One thing that I think would really help the game is if Konami stopped printing so many non-archetypal cards. Generic staples and boss monsters is what has pushed so many archetypes and individual cards to “broken” status. Basically just make core sets look like the deck-build sets, with all the new cards being strictly for the new archetypes, then maybe some rarity increases for pre-existing staples for collectors, or vice-versa with lower rarity reprints for budget players. This would reduce pack filer garbage and can allow Konami to print more diverse archetypes that won’t become insanely strong because of some random card printed X amount of years ago.

the "everything that chooses counts as targeting" would be a very, very solid change. Also changing all "when, you can" to "if, you can" to erase the whole "miss timing" bullsh** would be absolutely needed, a player friendly change that helps everyone by giving a bit less headaches both when deckbuilding and playing.

Some of these suggestions almost just seems like it's meant to be in favor of Ghostricks, lol. Imagine being able to set as many monsters as you want. Archetype be broken. For real though, having a normal summon per main phase would actually give a lot of deck variety. Most decks are based around how many special summons they can pull off without getting Ashed. Now they would essentially have 2 tries to start a combo without feeling like they just lost due to 1 hand trap.

As a Gemini lover, your idea for 1 normal summon per main phase and Geminis are treated as normals everywhere really made me smile. I've grown sick of online Gemini deck suggestions including "Cry Havoc!" as a replacement for the original card that made the Gemini deck useable (Ultimate Offering. I still miss being able to make Geminis not slow at the cost of a few LP here and there). Cry Havoc! only grants more Normal Summons for Normal Monsters, and as things now are, Geminis aren't Normals in the hand. I just want to treat them as Normals in the hand. That's all I want.

That’s actually not at all what changing “if” and “when” would do. I get that Farfa’s example of Call of the Haunted chain-link 2 not being able to proc a Torrential Tribute could lead to some confusion, but what he’s talking about is how effects that proc “when” something happens need that something to be the last effect of chain link 1. So, since Torrential Tribute says “when,” it needs a chain to finish resolving where the last thing to happen was the summoning a monster (whether that be an inherent summon like normal summoning or the resolution of an effect like Monster Reborn). If anything happens that isn’t a summon before you get a chance to flip Torrential Tribute, its activation window has passed and you no longer have legal grounds to use it. As an example, since chains would still exist, a slew of Prank Kids resolving Prank-Kids Pandemonium could still protect their special summoning from the main deck against an omni-negate like Borreload Savage by having their field spell be the last link in the chain of simultaneous effects before Borreload can activate within that same chain. However, getting rid of “when” and making everything “if” would mean you no longer can completely avoid the risk of Torrential Tribute by activating The Inexperienced Spy before chaining Prank Kids Pandemonium as chain-link 2, since currently even though you just summoned a monster the last thing to happen would be looking at your opponent’s hand, which Torrential Tribute cannot respond to.

Not sure if it would "fix" anything, but to expand on your divine monster bit I always thought it would be cool if every attribute had a special effect. I havent worked all of them out perfectly but the ones I have thought were good ideas so far were: EARTH: when an EARTH monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle, the adjacent zones of that destroyed monster are blocked until the end of the next turn. WIND: when a WIND monster is sent from field to the GY you can add 1 WIND monster with the same name from your deck to your hand. WATER: when a WATER monster is sent from field to the GY you can add up to 2 WATER monster(s) from your GY to your hand whose total levels are equal to or less than the sent monster. LIGHT: when you control 2 or more LIGHT monsters, your opponent must play with their hand revealed. DARK: when you control 2 of more DARK monsters, your opponent can not target face down spells/traps with card effects in the same column as another DARK monster. FIRE: when a FIRE monster you control deals battle damage to your opponent, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's level x200 DIVINE: basically what Farfa said in the video, but I thought it would be cool if they destroyed all other monsters on the field when they are summoned, but you can not summon any other monsters until the end of the next turn. Then they are untargetable and undestructible by moster effects.

It would probably break several going 2nd cards/decks so they'd have to be banned though. e.g. Zeus would be completely broken under this rule, since you can crash any xyz and use your 2nd normal to make another one mp2. And part of the downside of Accesscode is if it fails to OTK you're just ending on a big vanilla, the 2nd normal would remove that balance.

@@IamGrimalkin excellent. if some decks were broken going 2nd that'd be good, considering the currently *all* decks are broken going 1st lol. imo it's literally as simple as: is going 1st clearly better and by a lot? if yes, buff 2nd. it literally does not matter how broken it sounds, just keep doing it until going 2nd is as good or better and THEN you can consider dialing it back.

Unhinged take: deck-minimum should be 48 instead of 40, maximum amount of copies per Deck goes from 3 to 4, extra-Deck goes from 15 to 8 and you can only play 1 copy per extra-Deck card. Starting lifepoints become 10k because why tf is it 8k and because numeron is stupid.

Legitimately bring back MR3 Pend summons, but...the new rule would be that, during a turn that you perform a Pendulum Summon, you cannot summon non-Pendulum monsters from the Extra Deck. This completely solves the problem without breaking anything.

Having Gemini Monsters be normal in the deck, combined with having a normal summon during each main phase does a lot to improve them. The thing is, Gemini as a mechanic is supposed to be based around having strong base stats and a strong effect, but you are required to use your limited resource, the Normal Summon, to do so. But, we ended up giving normal effect monsters higher stats as well, so it completely invalidated the mechanic as well as invalidated normal monsters as a whole. Effect monster should NEVER have high stat totals because that's not the point of them. Normal monsters should be the beaters while effect monster should be the toolbox. Gemini would then play the difference between them, essentially being the effect monsters we have today. The more effects a monster has, the lower its stats should be just as the more restrictions a card has, the higher the stats should be. We shouldn't have an 1800/1600 level 4 that can summon another monster on arrival and pop 3 cards on the field and then cut your opponent's life in half when it leaves the field.

Consistent vocab is one of the cornerstones a card game _needs_ to have. You can't have some cards do something but angle-shoot around protections because it uses the wrong word even when they're synonyms and obviously are trying to accomplish the same end result. TBH the following really _need_ to happen: 1. Fully codified and comprehensive rulebook that handles every possible case of any interaction and is easily reference-able and searchable, and consistent across all regions and formats. No more "this works in OCG but not TCG", no more having to go to a specific card's yugipedia rulings subpage to try to find out if this one card interacts with this one other card in a specific way. (ex. did you know that if you pitch a Tear to your opponent's Harr effect, the Tear won't trigger because it wasn't sent by card effect, it was sent by you the player?) 2. Separate all card effects by bullet points and line breaks. Each effect has a number bullet and starts on a completely new line. 2. All cards and effects "target", get rid of "choose" 3. All cards and effects "destroy" from field or "discard" from hand, get rid of "send" for these 4. All cards and effects cannot "miss the timing", get rid of "when" 5. Anything that "affects the player, not the cards" gets removed. If something is unaffected, Evenly Matched just ignores it and that player gets to keep the unaffected card in addition to the other cards that fulfill EM. (ex. if opponent Evenlys you with their empty board and you have a Final Sigma in your EMZ, you will keep Final Sigma _and another card_ ) I would also love to see Pend unlimited, since it's the only summon type that didn't get un-neutered in MR5 even though it is inherently _less_ broken than all other summon types since Pend Summon is a HOPT while every other special summon type is unlimited. Another change I'd love would be errata-ing as many ED monsters as possible to either require in-archetype materials, lock you into that archetype, have effects that only affect its archetype, or for the truly generic ones to give them some specific materials/restrictions. (ex. Goyo Guardian went from "played in literally every deck" to "strong in a dedicated deck but not widely accessible")

Forklift Certification "You can special summon 1 "Forklift" monster from your hand or deck. The summoned monster gains 1000 ATK/DEF and is unaffected by your opponent's card effects until the end of the turn. You can banish this card from your GY, shuffle 3 Forklift monsters from your GY and/or banished zone into your deck, then draw 1 card. You can only activate each effect of "Forklift Certification " once per turn."

Just make Gemini monsters with hand effects, make gemini Cydra and Gear Gamma, still count as normies in the hand because that is a card effect that treats it as a normal monster already, give Geminis grave effects because you don't need to normal summon twice to get grave effects, as for the reasoning see my first suggestion, it's treated as normal by card effect in grave anyways, make it have *another effect* TLDR make at least half the effort put into every other mechanic in the game for Geminis and they might not be totally irrelevant

To echo another user, I think the banned card set would be awesome for the those who are more collectors of the game than players. I also thin Divine immunity would be cool as long as spells and traps can at least stop or stun them. Another cool idea was the normal summon once per main phase, and the flip summoning mechanic. In the case, of the later it adds a little more usage for cards that can effectively act as spell or traps even if it is at the expense of losing fighting power. Sometimes that man-eater bug could be used to stop a long winding combo before the fighting beginnings - at least to me. I also wonder if creating text (or symbols for spells and traps) that help player understand what part of the chain that card could be used in can help with those confusing moments in a chain.

We need a split ban list like they have in Duel links. Something like a "full limited" list, where you can only have one copy of ANY card on that list. (If imperm and ash are on the list, you can only choose one) This would allow konami to hit a card like verte by limiting it along with dragoon, then they wouldnt have to choose between which cant be played, that would be up to the players instead. It would also allow them to prevent Meta decks from abusing staple cards that work well in other decks, or secondary engines that are already good. Thats just my idea though.

I like your idea of playing as many monsters you want face down, and not being flipped till next turn. Also like the idea of nothing missing the timing. The if vs when. Gemini being treated as normal monsters at all times is a major boost. My suggestion. .... Both players draw up to 5 cards at the end of each turn if there hand is less than 5 cards. Speeds up every deck, and allows more hand destruction playable/playing cards that require discards. Hand destruction becomes very week by this 1 change

Yugioh Banlists should have a Choice Restrict section, limiting certain cards from being played with one another. It would probably end up being a lengthy list, but doing so would allow certain decks to remain playable without putting in certain cards that synergize too well to make them dominatingly tier one or zero.

Ideas: You can Normal Summon/Set once per turn OR you can Normal Summon as many Gemini monsters as you want. The Extra Deck has a hard cap of 15 cards. If a Pendulum card going to the ED would exceed 15 cards, it goes to the GY. If multiple Pendulums would go in simultaneously but there's only space for some, the owner can choose which ones have to go to the GY.

My own proposal: errata the Wicked Gods, Sacred Beasts, and Nordic Gods to be DIVINE Divine-Beasts, like they were in the Manga (and in the Japanese version of the Anime for the Nordic Gods). And for the icing on the cake, the Wicked Gods get the special DIVINE symbol with the background of the DARK attribute from the Manga instead of the background of the LIGHT attribute like all the real DIVINE cards have.

i have a weird suggestion Add a new type called "flood gates" this type can be with other types like Field Floodgate or continuous Floodgate. if the card has the flood gate type it will be banished facedown at the end of the next turn of who activated it. and only 1 flood gate type can be faceup on the field. Idk how this will work with monsters and certain spell cards and droll. but if you think you can better this idea do reply. I also thought of adding like neither player can activate a flood gate after 1 just got recently banished so people wouldnt be stun stacking idk.

So many times in this video I couldn't tell if he was kidding because a few of these would actually be genuinely cool changes, like drawing 6 going second instead of drawing your 6th card at the start of the turn, or Flip Summons on the opponent's turn. What he's saying is that a link monster will only be treated as materials equal to its link rating, meaning that a link 4 can't be used a one link material, in the case on sky striker most of it's monters are link 1, so it'll be ok, except for that one link 2 they have.

Why don't we just make it where you can only special summon equal to how many turns you had? Like on your first turn you can special summon up to 1 time, your second turn 2 times, etc. I believe this would help stop FTKs while also slowing the game down like how Konami first wanted to do with link cards. it would also allow pendulums to go back to master rule 3 and still be balanced. cards that would special summon more than the turns you had can't be played or if there is an option the player must choose up to how many turn they had to special summon.
