I went cheap and repurposed a Bose Sound dock (rev 1) using a FanXoo BT adapter (US$22) with LDAC codec. To get LDAC via Win10 PC I am using a FiiO BTA30 Pro BT5.2 device with three modes (RX, TX, DAC). With that desktop BTA30 Pro, which is well built and cost about $116, I use it for both cabled and wireless needs. That Bose Sound Dock is an excellent little speaker, to this day. Also serves as the perfect perch for my webcam. For cabled, I set it up the BTA30 Pro as a DAC to feed a vintage Nakamichi SR-2E Receiver, which has an excellent 35W/8ohm dual channel amp (of famed Nelson Pass design). Great rig for headphones & cabled IEM's. No bookshelf speakers on my desk...no need. For TX/Wireless, the BTA30 Pro feeds: Bose Sound dock w/FanXoo (for LDAC) SoundCore Motion + (for SBC) BTR5 (for LDAC, and with cabled IEM's) KZ AZ09 Pro IEM earhooks (for AptX HD)

Great review. I was wondering if they're that good to make even a bigger difference with a good sound card, rather that the mobo chip.
@jeroendenhertog49759 ай бұрын
Most (more expensive) mainboard audio chips today are way better than the "good" sound cards back in the days. I got a Realtek ALC1220 & ESS SABRE Hi-Fi 9118 DAC on my mobo, and it sounds incredible.

is it actually any good for only $400? I am considering Genelec 8010A as it is made from a very reputable company. The Creative Kantana v2 that I just bought sounds like shit despite of having really positive reviews.
@OfficialGamesky2 жыл бұрын
I think they sound great. They have their own DPS's so no need for an Amp, they get very loud and have an insanely clean sound. Pair it with a sub if you need to feel bass and you're good to go
@justinficiu51932 жыл бұрын
I've heard that the Iloud Micro was similar to the genelec and half the price, though since the genelecs have small woofers you might need a sub for them to sound right, if you don't i'd recommend buying something like the Edifier S2000pro's if you have the space or the vanatoo's which are more compact but still have great bass
@justinficiu51932 жыл бұрын
@@rap-soldier2185 I only know about the edifier s2000pros and the vanatoo t1's and i'd recommend either one, they're both great, though i've been wanting to upgrade to the Triangle BRO3's which you would need a real amp for, so idk just look around
