I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. I have used the Ledge Buster for years with success. I mix it up with crankbaits. You never know what they will bite.

Really heavy, big bladed spinner baits got me a 7lb 1oz and about 12 casts later a 6lb 14oz almost twin 2 days ago. Once you gain confidence in this technique it really gets addictive.

It's crazy to because people will be fishing with me and see me tie on "ole painless" and they laugh and can't believe I throw a bait like that. It don't always work but when it does it's magical.

The biggest bass I ever caught on a spinnerbait was throwing a 1 3/8oz bottom dweller in about 20ft of water on toledo bend. I like throwing them in the post spawned and pre spawn on humps and ledges. I agree whole heartily I don't think people throw them very often for some reason. Only recently did I start catching on spinnerbaits. I always used them shallow and fished more finesse style lures. That being said, I have seen these and would love to try them.

@@MattStefanFishing Glad to get an answer. Have you also tried the super heavy chatterbaits? I accidentally got sent some of the 1.25oz Jackhammers, they are interesting and run deep on a steady retrieve.

I have a couple of heavy spinnerbaits but never thought about using them instead of deep crank baits! That's a very interesting Idea! Especially in a deep river! Nice!

You can remove the rubber from rubber core sinkers and clamp them to the hook shank of any spinnerbait to get them down deep.

I like to put an extra hook on the back of my spinner bait with a keeper for the hook to work well for short striking bass. Mostly just throw half once spinner baits due to my stores not carrying anything bigger

If put a trailer on a spinner bait it is either a power stinger or single tail grub.
